Anker Soundcore Q20 Review - Best Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones

Bluetooth on the left earpiece: you have standard power on and off and a independent noise cancellation button that allows you to turn the noise cancellation off and on. They have large soft ear pads that if you ever have any issue, you can replace them for around fifteen dollars. But in my experience, this hasn't been necessary. They have good 90 degree rotation on the ear pads as well as Inward and outward rotation to align for comfort. Breathable mesh on the ear pads and memory foam for comfort.

Last but not least, at least for me is they have large printed letters on the inside that allow me to know which one is the left and which one is the right. That may seem silly, but having those large symbols there instead of trying to hunt and search for the small printed letters is great in terms of sound quality.

The Anchor Soundcore Life Q20s produce high-res audio using custom 40 millimeter Dynamic drivers that produces an extended frequency that reaches up to 40 kilohertz. Now some people may or may not like a strong base output, but in my experience, I've really enjoyed the sound and the bass that comes from the headphones. I haven't had a situation where I'm listening to music or listening to a movie where the bass has become an issue.

One area where I probably wouldn't rely on them is with the microphone. I've used them in Zoom calls now and then, and I really like the sound coming from the voices in the meeting. But the built-in mic falls a bit flat, so you may want to consider an external mic depending on your use case.

In regards to noise canceling, the Life Q20s have been an excellent performing pair of headphones. They are engineered with internal and external microphone to cancel out an extended range of low and mid frequency noises such as airplane engines and traffic in general. They are spec to reduce the ambient noise up to 90 percent. Are able to cut out a wider decibel range than other headphones.

As far as real life scenarios go, I've used them on many flights and in situations with a lot of background noise, and there's a tremendous amount of noise cancellation. No complaints here. I've even used them without music or sound playing just to drown out the external noise.

For comfort, the Life Q20s have memory foam ear cups that mold around your ears quite nicely. No pain or extra pressure points when wearing them long term. In addition, the headband's rotating joints automatically adjust both to the angle and width of your head. The top of the head strap has additional padding for the top of your head. Comfort not too thick but it does the job just fine.

In addition, the overhead strap is flexible enough to stay comfortable on your head without being too rigid and causing any sort of unneeded pressure. So if your head is a little wider, they will angle in and out in order to fit correctly.

Let's talk about the battery life of the Q20 and in fact all the Anchor products that I've used. The battery life is always incredible. They are spec to have 40 hours of non-stop play time and wireless active noise cancellation mode. And an extended 60 hours if you use them in the wired mode.

From the spec sheet, a single charge should give you enough power to listen to over 600 songs. Now I can't say I've listened to 600 songs straight to test that claim but in my experience, I get multiple days of listening to both music and movies without having to recharge.

In addition, when you do connect through Bluetooth, there's an audible voice indication of the current battery level to alert you when they have a high, medium or low battery level. Which is very convenient.

All in all, the Q20s are really a great bang for the buck budget pair of headphones that are definitely on my recommended list for anyone looking to pick them up.
