iOS 11.4 Beta 1 Released! What's New

The Release of iOS 11.4 Developer Beta 1: A Look at the Updates and Changes

Hey guys, it's Apple Pro here, and I'm excited to share with you the latest updates and changes in iOS 11.4 developer beta 1. As we all know, Apple has been teasing us with this firmware update since their March 27th event, and today, we finally get to dive into what's new and what's changed.

Before we begin, I want to clarify that this is a pretty significant update, as it goes from point 3 to point 4. You'd expect it to have a lot inside, but surprisingly, there isn't much to find. I've been combing over the beta for quite some time now, and while there are a few reported changes, most of them seem to be minor adjustments.

One change that did catch my attention is the return of AirPlay 2, both in TV OS firmware and in iOS 11 points for. This means you'll finally be able to use multi-room support once again, which was removed from iOS 11.3 before its final release. I'm not sure if this will stick around for the duration of the beta, but it's great to see it back in the mix.

Another feature that returned is stereo pairing with HomePods. Within the Home app, you'll now see a reference to it again, which means you can do it. However, I wasn't able to get it to work yet, so we'll have to wait and see if others are able to replicate this functionality. Stereo pairing in some format is back at least.

Additionally, messages on the cloud are enabled once again, allowing you to toggle this feature within your iCloud settings. Another feature that was removed from iOS 11.3 has been brought back for 11.4, but we'll have to wait and see if it sticks around.

In terms of features, there's not much else to find. Apple didn't mention anything about new features on the iPhone side, so we're left with mostly minor adjustments. I've tried looking into various areas, but after 45 minutes, I couldn't find anything significant.

That being said, I have heard from many people that iOS 11.3 has done wonders for their devices, improving battery life, speed, and responsiveness. While I don't think 11.4 will drastically improve upon these aspects, it may address some minor issues. As always, Apple has this stuff on lockdown when it comes to speed.

Now, let's move on to the results of our testing. As expected, the scores are pretty much the same as those from the last iOS 11.3 firmware. The speed remains consistent, but there aren't any significant changes in terms of features. It's possible that Apple will add some new features in future updates, but for now, it seems like this beta is more of a minor tweak than a major overhaul.

Finally, I want to mention the class get support with a new school work application for teachers on iPad. This feature has not yet been seen in the current beta, so we can only speculate about its inclusion in future updates. As always, I'll keep you guys updated as any new features become available.

That's it for now, folks. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more updates and news from the world of iOS!
