Unboxing - Canon EF 75-300mm f_4-5.6 III Lens

The Canon EF 75 to 300 mm Telephoto Lens: A First-Timer's Dream?

Hey guys, it's David Frankie here from GARP, and I'm excited to share with you my latest acquisition - the Canon EF 75 to 300 mm telephoto lens. I picked this baby up for just $100 from One Sell a Day.com, which I have to say, was a bit of a mixed bag. Honestly, I'm not totally thrilled with their customer service, but hey, who needs that when you can save $100 on a great camera lens? That being said, I think it's worth noting that this lens is not the crème de la crème, but for $100, I believe it's an amazing entry-point into the world of telephoto photography.

As soon as I took this lens out of its box, I was struck by its weight. It's definitely got some heft to it! I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised by how heavy it is considering its relatively compact size. However, I've heard that this isn't necessarily a bad thing - sometimes, the more weight you can get behind your lens, the better it's going to perform. We'll see about that as we put it through its paces.

One of my main concerns with this lens was its autofocus capabilities. From what I've heard, it's not exactly lightning-fast, but honestly, I'm not too fussed. For $100, I figure you get what you pay for, and if this lens can give me the depth of field I need to take some amazing shots, then I'm more than happy to overlook its minor quirks. Plus, I've got my trusty 50mm (a.k.a. "the nifty50") and a new 40mm lens on hand, which should give me plenty of options.

Speaking of which, let's take a look at the autofocus switch! As you can see, it's pretty straightforward - just flip this little lever to switch between autofocus and manual focus mode. Simple enough, right? Now, I know some of you might be thinking, "Wait a minute, David - isn't that lens with the slower autofocus going to cause issues?" And to that, I say... maybe. But again, for $100, I think it's worth taking a chance on.

Now, let's talk about my current lens collection. As you can see, it's starting to grow nicely! I've got my trusty 18-55mm stock lens, which does an amazing job for what it is - and then there's the nifty50, which has become a reliable workhorse in my kit bag. But now, with this new telephoto lens on board, I'm feeling like I've got some real firepower to take on any photography challenge that comes my way.

If you're interested in checking out this lens for yourself (or any of the other lenses I mentioned), all of those links are right below. And hey, if you do decide to grab one, be sure to let me know what you think! I'd love to hear about your experiences with these lenses and share some of my own tips and tricks along the way.

Thanks so much for watching, guys - don't forget to hit that like button and subscribe for more photography-related videos, as well as some fun photography tests where we put all these new toys to the test! And until next time... see you tomorrow.
