**The Room Tour Project**
I'm DOM and I'm excited to be back again on room tour project. A big thank you to Frank P for making that happen, but if you're subscribed to my channel, I'm sure you've noticed the changes in my desk setup. If you're not, I'm going to give you guys a behind-the-scenes look at how everything is set up over here with my desk in the office and things like that.
**The Desk Setup**
So, this is where all the magic happens and it's been updated with a few extra goodies since my last desk tour. First off, as far as the actual desk is concerned, well, it's not meant to be a desk at all. This giant slab of wood is actually a Karlby kitchen countertop from IKEA resting on two Alex drawer units lined with a Philips Hue light strip along the backside. The top is heavy enough to keep everything in place and the rubber feet from the setup actually keep it from sliding around. Overall, it's pretty dope and it looks real clean.
**The Monitors**
Next up, quite possibly the star of the show here are my dual LG ultra-wide monitors. I just upgraded to these bad boys, and if you're curious, they are the 34" 4K UHD models both of which are mounted on a Rigged CIG triple monitor mount which I removed the middle section from to accommodate the two ultra-wide up top.
**The Webcam and USB Hub**
Here we have a Logitech C920 webcam and below the monitors there's actually an anchor for Port USB 3.0 hub for some additional connectivity. Lining the sides of the desk, we have my Yamaha HS 8 speakers which I've had for a while and absolutely love. They're nice and loud, transparent, and sound, and are resting on top of a pair of Ultimate Support speaker stands which are very sturdy.
**The Headphones**
Now, when I'm not in the mood for loud speakers, I tend to stick with these Samson Z55 headphones. These sleek cans feature 45 millimeter drivers, comfortable lambskin ear pads, and cater to a more transparent pro sound. And of course, I keep those cans rested on a Just Mobile headphone stand.
**The Audio Interface**
For my audio interface, I'm still rocking the Focusrite Forte which I've had forever, and for the money, this thing is excellent. It's my go-to interface for everything around the office, and it looks pretty clean as well with its aluminum design.
**The PC**
Of course, audio would be nothing without the means to capture it all, and that's where my beast of a PC comes into play. If you're not familiar with Black Eyes, it's a PC build that I did a while back, and it's been running like a champ for everything we do here ever since. It's packing dual Titan X GPUs, 64 gigabytes of RAM, and an Intel i9-9900X processor but whether it's editing audio production or gaming, this thing is a boss all around.
**The Peripherals**
For peripherals, I'm rocking the Corsair K70 RGB Rapid-Fire Mechanical Keyboard with LED backlighting and Cherry MX Speed key switches. And for my mouse, I'm rocking the Corsair Scimitar RGB Gaming Mouse. Oddly enough, we find the programmable buttons on the side extremely useful for editing in Adobe Premiere. It's just really nice to have keyboard shortcuts lined up at your fingertips when using the mouse.
**The Mass Storage**
For mass storage, I'm rocking a couple of different solutions here. First up, we have my trusty G-Raid Studio which packs 6 terabytes of storage and works great for editing off of. But the main star here is my Synology DS416+ network-attached storage unit and this baby is packing 16 terabytes of storage and is accessible from anywhere in the world. So we're always sharing files across it, backing up data, and even streaming movies to the TV with its built-in transcoding. It's very epic.
**Conclusion**
That'll do it for episode 55 of Room Tour Project. Hope you enjoyed it, and if you were liking DOM's setup, I will put his channel link in the description down below so you can check it out. Tell them I sent you, show them some love. And as always, I will put all the links to everything you saw in the description as well, so if you saw a cool pair of headphones or keyboard you liked, I'll put it down there so you can check it out.
