Pressure Washing 2 Miles of Concrete at the LZ Compound (Pt. 1)

The Power Washing Transformation: A Behind-the-Scenes Look

We were excited to see the transformation that was taking place at this property, and we're lucky enough to have been able to document it with our cameras. The owner had enlisted the help of two friends, Matt and Kevin, who were working on the property with their trusty power washing equipment.

As we spoke to Kevin, we asked him about his initial thoughts when he first arrived at the property. He told us that he was surprised to be there so late in the day, but that he had always been interested in big projects like this one. "I know you guys got some good time-lapse of it, so it'll be fun to watch that," he said with a smile.

When asked about the equipment and supplies used for the job, Kevin explained that they were using standard issue pressure washing gear, including 20-inch surface scrubbers and wands, as well as several hundred feet of garden hose and pressure washing hose. They also had two Dewalt 3800 psi pressure washers on hand, with backup units available in case anything went wrong.

Kevin went on to explain that for concrete jobs like this one, a simple mixture of bleach or half-leach-half-water spray is usually sufficient. "You just use some bleach or some half-leach-half-water spray it down and uh let it rip," he said. However, for larger or more complex projects, commercial-grade equipment may be necessary.

As we continued to chat with Kevin, we learned that the property had a long history of maintenance, with one of the owners having maintained it himself using a street sweeper attachment on his tractor. "That's what they don't have here anymore," he noted wistfully. But despite the lack of such equipment, the team was determined to get the job done.

The Power Washing Process

As we followed Kevin and Matt as they worked on the property, we couldn't help but notice that things were moving quickly - too quickly, in fact. "We're gonna catch on fire once or twice," Matt joked, "but it's all part of the process." And indeed, just a few minutes later, they showed us footage of their truck catching fire while Kevin was fueling up.

"It was pouring out," Kevin said with a laugh, "but I'm glad I got that out of there because it spilled and it started pouring back down." Despite the setbacks, the team remained focused on their goal: to transform this property into a beautiful outdoor space.

The Equipment and Supplies Used

According to Kevin, the equipment used for this job was standard issue. They had 20-inch surface scrubbers and wands, as well as several hundred feet of garden hose and pressure washing hose. The pressure washers were Dewalt 3800 psi units, with backup units available in case anything went wrong.

The team also mentioned that they had a few dump trailers and trucks on hand for junk removal and other tasks. "We're currently just pressure washing and junk removal," Kevin said. "But we're looking to expand our services in the future."

As we continued to chat with Kevin, he explained that his company, Schultz's Complete Care, had started out offering only pressure washing and junk removal services. However, they were now looking to diversify their offerings to include other services such as dirt work, grading, and asphalt milling.

The Time-Lapse Footage

Throughout the day, Mike was gathering footage of the transformation using a variety of cameras, including time-lapses. As we watched the footage come together, it was clear that this project had been a labor of love for everyone involved.

As the sun began to set on another long day of work, Kevin and Matt were exhausted but exhilarated by what they had accomplished. "We're gonna get work done," Kevin said with a grin, as we watched them pack up their equipment and head off into the sunset.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome to today's compound special we have lots of power washing stuff in this video but also we finally got our box of go-kart parts we've got recoil kits so we can start it with a pull cord instead of a drill and then we've got beautiful fps spec vapor honed zinc coated carburetors so these are actually built by tommy and josh themselves that's why it took so long you can tell the meticulous care and detail that is put into every single one looks like they were built by some psychopaths would you agree so now we're good to go we can actually start these properly and not have to worry about using a drill okay sick sweet put some fluids we had a fire today you guys will see that later we're all still a little bit shaken up yeah this is right after right after it's twitching why don't my gopros ever last they're brand new and they get run over or on fire every single time just be careful it's gonna oh adam what are you we've done four of these and we do the front you were just like what the hell is this grant's got it grant's got it right you got it right buddy look at this his father helping his son one working together the other it's just a beautiful thing so on the side of the tires it said inflate to 60 psi so that's what i did and then i texted owner bushnell and he just laughed because i guess you're supposed to run these at like 12. so yesterday me and grant are riding these things they felt hooked up so i can't imagine what they're actually going to feel like when we lower the tire pressure you can see the wear too like we were barely using the tire bubbled out i know i'm excited right here teamed up like if this thing runs perfect if we can get like a good system down we can hammer these out in a half an hour i think it's worth it runs yeah we should probably put more on the other ones what do you mean there's only three holes it's just because it's such so weak that's why the other ones are all torn so we never really formally talked about this but you guys might have noticed in the last video how good all the concrete looked in front of the shop we talked about power washing this whole place which is extremely daunting considering there's 200 000 square feet of concrete but right off the rip shulman actually hit up some of his friends his friend kevin has a company that does do a lot of power washing so him and his friend cam have been here working on the property and you guys are going to see how crazy the transformation is before we even show you anything i want to speak to kevin because like this might be i mean i don't know much about power washing i was at disney the other day and i was thinking like man i didn't think there was anything crazier than power washing the whole compound but like imagine power washing disney cause i was gonna say this would be like the biggest power washing job of all time but like there's probably dudes that like power wash towns and stuff it's like helicopters so i don't know if we should put that part in the video or if like people are gonna call me out that's good all right so we're here with kevin kevin nice to meet you i'm kevin hello i wanna i wanna hear what you thought when you initially came here because i know matt had you come out i think it's late at night i'm surprised you were down i thought you're gonna come and you're gonna be like well i mean i like big projects i've seen i like press wash concrete i mean it's fun honestly it's real satisfying um i know y'all got some good time lapse of it so it'll be fun to watch that yeah but um yeah no i i figured i'd measure it out and see what i could do sick so i wanted to like kind of talk a little bit about the equipment and the stuff you use for this because i was out there with a little crazy trying to like pressure wash i didn't really do anything so what do you need for a job like this well for a job like this it all depends on uh the time frame you know because this is pretty standard equipment they're just 20 inch surface scrubbers and some wands we have about a few hundred feet of garden hose and a few hundred feet of pressure washing hose and i'm just running with two dewalt 3800 psi pressure washers we have some backup pressure washers as well in case anything breaks a few water tanks a few trailers but for concrete i mean it's pretty standard you just use some bleach or some some half leach half water spray it down and uh let it rip if you've got a time frame you can always get some commercial stuff some diesel pressure washers hot water pressure washers um helicopters helicopter you know what i mean some custom you know three thousand foot scrubber to just you know do all this with so we found out that's what they had they the uh actually one of the guys that lived on property maintained it forever they had like a street sweeper attachment for the front of the tractor so that's great i know that's what they don't have it here no more no so we get to look into getting one but i'd say for the most part like you guys are crushing it you're getting it done really fast except for catching on fire once and uh oh yeah then running out of water yeah the the i think i'd rather run out of water than catch on fire again yeah it was exciting i mean your company name you said is schultz's complete care yes sir other services um well currently is just pressure washing and junk removal we have a few dump trailers and a few trucks we like to starting off doing junk removal i just bought a skid steer clearing stuff out with that doing grading work dirt work side-by-side trails side-by-side trails asphalt milling driveways i mean anything a skid skier can do essentially do you have dirt can you dump dirt i don't have dirt we can get dirt okay i need dirt it's a long story don't worry about it so anyway you guys you guys have been out here for a week and mike's been kind of gathering some footage with gopros time-lapse stuff so everyone has been dying to see footage with this place being power wash so here it is so um penis um fire fire now you good dude yeah your hands good i'm straight out of his face guys i've never done that before it was pouring out well dude that was so it blew up when i was putting fuel in it france over there is like like twinkling he was trying to do it i'm like well i'm glad i got that out of there because it spilled and it started pouring back down that way god damn i'm glad you're okay yeah oh my gosh do you see me run yeah i went nope nope nope nope they're coming oh god you see freddy at the back it looks like when you're riding them it's not that scary but it looks hairy on those like when they pass how are we gonna get work done oh we're gonna get work done when you say france got it frank's got it right buddy when you saywelcome to today's compound special we have lots of power washing stuff in this video but also we finally got our box of go-kart parts
