World Of Warcraft VS Fortnite .....REALLY!

**The Revival of World of Warcraft: A 15-Year-Old Game That's Still Got It**

I was blown away today when I seen the news that World of Warcraft has jumped 83% in viewership on Twitch in just one month, thanks largely to WoW Classic and streamer gameplay. As someone who's been around since the early days of gaming, I couldn't believe it - a game from way back in 2004 was still going strong.

Let me tell you, back then the hardware wasn't the issue, it was their servers. Blizzard didn't expect the massive jump that World of Warcraft would get on the bandwagon, and they were caught with their pants down. Their servers couldn't handle the traffic, and players like me were stuck in town for hours trying to play the game.

But I was there to help, trying to make people's experience better by throwing hardware at it, adding more resources to try and improve performance. It was a big deal back then, but what shocks me is that even with modern servers, World of Warcraft still has a dedicated player base.

I got a call today asking me to build a computer for someone who wants to play World of Warcraft again, and I have to say, it blew my mind. 15 years after the game's release, I'm being asked to help someone experience it all over again. It just goes to show that even with all the new games out there, World of Warcraft still has a special place in gamers' hearts.

As I was talking to this person, they told me that they were once part of a group of friends who would play World of Warcraft together, and it was more than just a game - it was a way for them to connect with each other. It made me think, maybe WoW has that same kind of magic now.

It's interesting to note that while Fortnite is losing its steam, World of Warcraft is gaining momentum. Maybe it's because there isn't anything else like it out there right now in the video game world when it comes to big massive online play. Whatever the reason, I'm just happy to see a classic game still thriving.

So, to all my friends who are still playing World of Warcraft, keep on keeping on! And to those who are new to the game, welcome to the community - you're in good company.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane with me. Until next time, stay gaming!

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhuh wants me to help them build a gaming computer cool cool good what will the Warcraft as I'd like to talk about world of warcraft I know I don't play it I've never ever really truly played it in any which way of the form but back when it launched I think around 2003 2004 something like that I had a big computer store and people kept bringing in their computers non-stop to play this world of warcraft now it was huge business for me so I was like huh ok and we had to play around with it a bit and I just could not see how I could get to like this game and therefore I didn't play it now previously I played all of the warcraft games the real time strategies I loved them and I liked the first Starcraft never did like the second one but I loved the first one and I love the original Warcraft games with the cookie and all that there and it was just great gaming and I played tons of that but when World of Warcraft came out it was not something that excited me at all and then again I'm not really a massive online RPG or JRPG or whatever you wish to call it kind of guy so it doesn't really suit me but I got a phone call today about wanting to build a brand new computer one of my buddies and you're watching buddy you know what I'm talking about and you triggered something and what that was and I just want to talk about it because World of Warcraft is actually bigger than we think it is it's been 15 plus years and would you believe that game is now number four on ours viewed would you believe that on twitch it actually dethroned our just about dethroned fortnight yeah did guys roll the Warcraft is becoming something big again and I don't know why I don't know if it's because some mainstream youtubers have decided to leave fortnight or whatever the case may be but this world Warcraft thing is starting to take off all over again now that's pretty impressive for a game that's been out 15 plus years if we really want to talk about a game that has history and has been around for a very long time gonna think of counter-strike and the fact that counter-strike is still very big in fact in the top 10 counter-strike still ranks a seven for most hours viewed on Twitch can you believe that but the big thing that was a huge standout for World of Warcraft was it grew 80 plus percent in viewed time 80 plus percent now we're talking about a game that is old I don't even I didn't even know that people were still playing it I didn't even know that this game was still something to talk about and I was just blown away like I said in the day I have people coming in oh when I get into the big towns it gets really slow this time I'm sorry people back then the hardware wasn't the issue it was their servers Blizzard did not expect to have the jump the bandwagon that the whole holy cow this just became the biggest thing since sliced bread they were caught with their pants down and their servers couldn't handle it now it was great because like I said I would tell people straight up you know it's not your computer it's the fact that when you get into the city or the town there's just so much going on that these servers can't keep up and they were like no no no no let's take a look at this and let's add and throw Hardware I didn't I'd be like okay and I would sit there for you know four or five hours playing their game throwing stuff at it trying to make it better and it would be very minimal hardware definitely was not the issue back then and I'm guessing now they definitely have servers to support this but what shocks me is the fact that they still have servers to support this and wow just wowed me so guys comment below have you been playing World of Warcraft do you currently play World of Warcraft where are you a World of Warcraft player and what did you think of it like it just wasn't a thing for me I just was in the whole world of it because I was trying to fix people's problems to play it and then today I get a phone call asking me to build a computer and I'm like yeah I get to build another gaming computer or help them put together what parts needed or whatever the case was they told me the world of warcraft and i was like i get serious world of warcraft I almost took them away as a friend just kidding guys but I mean everybody plays their thing right so I mean fortnight definitely is losing its steam I don't even really want to turn it on anymore and the only time I really wanted to play it or play it was just to hang out with Jeff and the other guys online it was just a place for us to vent chat and play it wasn't so much the game it was what the game did for us and maybe wow has that maybe wow is wow again who knows maybe it's because there isn't really anything all that great out there right now in the video game world when it comes to this type of big massive online play but anyway guys I just wanted to talk about it just was blown away today when I seen the news September 11th the verge it's not Battle Royale title or even competitive multiplayer game it's a largely cooperative fantasy RPG that came up 15 years ago maybe you've heard of the name before world of warcraft the blizzard production massively multiplayer online game that was released in its classic pre expansion form on august 26 originally released in November 2004 Wow according to streaming analytics firm stream elements viewership of World of Warcraft on twitch jumped 83% in August alone one month thanks largely to WoW classic and streamer and gold so I guess a big streamer did jump on the bandwagon of WoW who unseated fortnight's star turner chief ooh teni Wow so this one streamer dethroned this other big fortnight's streamer and now Wow is Wow so anybody Kai's I just I don't know I just wanted to talk about it because it was a weird thing for me World of Warcraft was something from way back and I was on the technical side of it not the gaming side of it all I did was try to make people experience the game better and I can't believe 15 plus years later I'm being asked to work on a WoW machine once again that my friends blows my mind but on a
