I've been working on a very small independently produced unofficial Star Wars event, and I'm excited to share it with you. It's so unofficial, I don't even have a title - but people are interested! When I mentioned it yesterday, quite a few caught the announcement and pledged their support, which is always exciting when you put something out there and get feedback.
I consider myself a Star Wars fan of any kind, or if you create Star Wars content. I'm pretty sure that most of the people in my community are not necessarily Star Wars fans, which is kind of bizarre to me. It's like you're what you eat well - you also are what you tweet. I've read so much of it. The first Star Wars figure I got was for 99 cents, and that really started it all for me. It's been a journey ever since.
I recently had the opportunity to introduce my child to Jedi, who has been awakened by the power of the Force. As a parent, having children can be a wonderful experience, but it also means missing out on experiences that you once took for granted. For example, I've never attended a Star Wars event in person before, so this is one of those things that I'm excited to live vicariously through.
I've been considering working with other people to set up some kind of swap meet or flea market that would feature Star Wars and potentially other fandoms as well. The idea is not only fun but also feasible - who wouldn't want to spend their days browsing through stalls selling all sorts of geeky goods? Of course, it's not easy to organize an event like this, but I think it could be a great way to connect with fellow fans and build a sense of community.
I'd love to host these types of events in the Seattle area, potentially every weekend. It would be amazing to have a whole day dedicated to celebrating all things geeky - whether that's Star Wars, sci-fi, fantasy, or just general fandoms. I know it wouldn't be easy, but I think it could be a lot of fun.
As for coffee, I'm a bit of a coffee aficionado. I drink coffee every day, and I know there are coffee events out there - people who love coffee as much as I do. And then there are events for people who don't like coffee at all. But what about those of us who just love the culture surrounding it? There must be events out there that cater to our interests.
Vlogger Fair is another event that comes to mind. While I'm not sure if it will happen this year, I think it's definitely worth checking out - especially for producers like myself who are interested in learning more about the video content creation industry. The first day of Vlogger Fair was packed with education and networking opportunities that were both exciting and exhausting.
As a producer, I've learned a lot from my experiences over the past four years. One thing I've noticed is that people tend to attend events on the first day rather than later in the week. Maybe it's just me, but I think this is because the energy of the first day is still high - everyone is excited and eager to learn more.
Now, I'm thinking about how I can bring a similar energy to my own Star Wars event. One idea I have is to include an education track where people can learn about all sorts of topics related to Star Wars, from collecting to community projects. There are tons of groups out there that build their own costumes or uniforms - it would be amazing to provide a platform for them to showcase their work.
And then, of course, there's the safety aspect. I've been thinking about adding some safety features to my event - maybe replacing all the knobs with velcro strips so that people won't get hurt if they accidentally slip and fall. I know it sounds silly, but it would be a fun touch!
I'm also excited to share that my friends Diana and Joe Pas will be joining us for this event. They'll be back in town soon, which is perfect timing. We'll have to celebrate their return with a special dinner - maybe at the same restaurant where I first called them my girlfriend.
As we wrap up this vlog, I want to thank everyone who's taken the time to watch and engage with us. Please leave positive comments, subscribe to our channel, and participate with us on all of our social platforms every single day. And if you're able to support us in whatever ways you see fit - well, that would be amazing too.
That concludes this episode of my Star Wars event update. Stay tuned for more news and updates - we'll see you tomorrow!
