Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

**A Review of Rainbow Roll's "Fan Girl"**

Rainbow Roll's "Fan Girl" is an adult book that explores the life of Kath, a twin sister who is embarking on her first year at college. The story takes place from Kath's perspective, and it's clear that she's heavily invested in the fandom called Simon Snow, which is reminiscent of the Harry Potter series. As a huge author of fanfiction, Kath has thousands of readers who devour her stories, and she keeps up with them diligently. However, as Kath navigates college life, she meets Reagan, her roommate, and Levi, who is believed to be Reagan's boyfriend.

The book follows Kath's journey as she tries to grow out of her Simon Snow phase and learn how to navigate the real world. Along the way, she encounters various challenges and learns valuable lessons about herself and those around her. One of the standout aspects of "Fan Girl" is its portrayal of a fandom-driven life. Kath's dedication to Simon Snow is admirable, but it also creates tension in her relationships with others. As she tries to balance her love for the fandom with her newfound independence, Kath must confront the limitations of her world and learn to connect with people on a deeper level.

Throughout the book, Rainbow Roll masterfully weaves together humor, drama, and heartwarming moments. The author's writing style is engaging, and the characters are well-developed and relatable. Kath is particularly endearing, as she's someone who can easily embody the experiences of many young adults. Her struggles to grow up and find her place in the world are universal, making "Fan Girl" a compelling read for anyone who has ever felt like they don't quite fit in.
