DIY Planner Supplies! CUTE & EASY!

Making a Custom Tassel for Your Planner

I wanted to make my planner's tassel so I decided to create one myself. To start, you'll want to take some yarn or string and wrap it around the object that will serve as the base of your tassel. For me, I used a pad of post-it notes as my base. Take one strand of your string and lay it over the top of your base, then begin wrapping your yarn around it until it's the thickness you want. You can even use your fingers for this if you don't have anything else.

Once you've reached the desired thickness, take the string at the top and tie a double knot to secure it in place. Slide the yarn off of your object or fingers and cut through the loop on the bottom with scissors. You may need to give your tassel a little haircut on the bottom to make it even and symmetrical. Finally, get another piece of string and double tie it off right at the top to give your tassel its shape.

Using a pair of scissors, you can cut the excess yarn off the top of your tassel and trim any loose ends. I then got some pretty beads from the craft store and strung them on top of my tassel to give it some extra personality. To attach this to your planner, you can use either a clip or a keyring, whatever you have on hand.

Adding Some Personality with DIY Pens

After making my custom tassel, I wanted to add some more personality to my planner. So, I decided to make some DIY pens that would match my new tassel perfectly. To start, I found some plain boring pens and wrapped them in washi tape. First, I attached a small tassel to the top of the pen using washi tape.

Next, I wrapped the entire pen in washi tape, section by section, rather than trying to do it all at once. If you try to do it all at once, the tape can get crinkled and not look as nice and streamlined. To avoid this, I recommend wrapping your pens one section at a time.

I made two different tassel-style pens using this method, and I think they're just adorable. On top of each pen, I glued some leftover beads using hot glue to give them an extra touch of personality. These pens took me about five minutes to make, but they look so fun and you can customize them to match your planner.

Adding a Custom Pen Clip

Finally, I wanted to add another creative element to my planner: a custom pen clip. All you need for this is a small binder clip and a ribbon. Measure the ribbon to fit perfectly around the pen and the binder clip, then cut it to size.

Take some hot glue and secure one side of the ribbon to one side of the binder clip, and wrap the other side around to complete the loop. You'll be left with a little loop on your binder clip that will hold your pens in place securely. Simply attach this clip to your planner or pages using a keyring, and you'll have a custom pen clip that matches your planners.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys and welcome back to my channel so the new year is coming up and that means it's time for a new planner every year I get so excited to redo my planner and start from scratch and today I'm going to be showing you some really cute and easy DIY planner supplies so you can kind of customize your planner and make it a little bit more fun and also I have a really exciting giveaway I'm going to be giving away for absolutely gorgeous planners so it's stay tuned to the end of the video and I will be talking a little bit more about that give this video a thumbs up if you enjoy my DIY videos and all of that said let's go ahead and jump into it so we're going to start with some easy DIY paper clip options the first are these paper clip bows you want to start by tying a ribbon fold it over itself twice and hot glue it in the center like so if you want a layered effect you can cut another piece of ribbon with tapered edges you go behind it stack these on top of each other and then get another smaller piece of ribbon and loop it through the top of the paper clip and then tie it around in the center of your ribbons it might take a little bit of fiddling to get it perfectly centered but that's pretty much it once you get the hang of it is really easy I need a couple different ones so you can see the options they're really unlimited depending on this size the ribbons you use and the colors and I think these are just adorable and even easier method is to make your paper clips using stickers there are so many different options at your local craft store so I went with this cute cupcake design and all you need to do is hot glue these on to the top of your paper clip I decided to make mine double-sided and I like that you can customize these because there are stickers for every different interest or favorite thing that you might have I also made one with a little donut as well and as you can see these are really cute and could not be easier on Etsy these types of paper clips can cost between five to seven dollars each but if you make them yourself they're really cheap and I think they add a lot of personality to your planner next are some different ideas for custom planner dividers so I start by taking out the dividers that are already in here that you want to customize and then I got some cute craft paper that I'm going to cut to size and if you want these to be more durable you can cover them with clear contact paper it's kind of like laminating them but a lot easier and I do find that it's easier to put the contact paper on your craft paper first and then cut them out together then you want to cut this out you can use regular scissors or an exacto knife whatever is going to be easier for you and then I just used a regular hole puncher to cut out the hole so it's going to fit back inside the planner once I had this I decided I wanted to add an envelope pocket to keep my stickers in so the envelope I had was too big I cut off the bottom and then I took some it's silver washi tape and secured the bottom of the envelope so that it was the correct size and then I just took this and I glued it on to my custom divider you want to make sure to let this completely dry before putting in your stickers or whatever else you're going to put inside next I wanted to make a post-it note dashboard so I started with my custom divider and at this one I put some adorable pineapple craft paper on it and I took some post-it notes and I arranged them on top the way that I wanted them to look and then all you have to do here is glue them down I recommend using a stronger glue like e6000 or gorilla glue so they don't come off last I decided to make a divider with a pocket on it where I could keep my coupons so again I just started with my craft paper divider and I took a different type of craft paper that I thought looked nice with this and I marked where I wanted to pocket to go so I just cut that out and then put a very thin line of glue around the edges and glue the pocket down that's how easy it is again you just want to make sure that it's completely dry before putting anything inside of it so I'm using this little pocket to store my coupons it works perfectly and it's a great way to add more storage space to your planner next is a DIY planner charm these are all over Etsy so I wanted to make mine to have a big tassel on it so this is how you can make your own tassel you want to start with yarn or string and then take something that's the size you want your tassel to be for this I just use a pad of post-it notes then take one strand of your string and lay it over the top and then begin wrapping your yarn around your object and continue wrapping it until it's the thickness that you want and you can even use your fingers for this if you don't have anything else once it's the thickness that you want then just take the string at the top and tie it off into a double knot and slide the yarn off of your object or your fingers and then take a pair of scissors and cut through the loop on the bottom you may also have to give your tassel a little haircut on the bottom so it's nice and even and then get another piece of string and double tie it off right at the top to give your tassel its shape so here's my all done and then I got some pretty beads from the craft store and I strung these on the top like so until it looked the way that I wanted and then I just tied it off so the beads will stay in place so you can attach this on to your planner using either a clip or a keyring whatever you have on hand and I just think this adds a lot of personality and fun to your planner laughter some DIY pens and also a pen clip so first I made some tassel pens and I followed the same method to make my tassels they're just about half the size from there I found some plain boring pens and I wrap them in washi tape I first attached my little tassel to the top with the washi tape and then I wrapped the pen fully with the washi tape and I found out that these turn out a lot better if you wrap them section by section rather trying to do it all at once because if you try to do it all at once the tape gets all crinkled and it doesn't look as nice and streamlined so I recommend doing it this way so here are two different tassel style pens that I made I think they're just adorable and then I made it two other pens using the same washi tape method and then on top I glued some of my leftover beads using hot glue these pens took like five minutes to make I think they're so fun and you can make them match with your planner and last up is a custom pen clip all you need for this is a small binder clip and a ribbon so you want to measure your ribbon to the size so it can rot perfectly around the pen and the binder clip like so and then cut your ribbon and take some hot glue and glue down one side of the ribbon to one side of the binder clip secure it and then wrap it around to the other side hot glue that side make sure it's nice and secure down and you're left with a little loop on your binder clip like so that your pen will fit perfectly into and then all you need to do is take this clip and you can clip it anywhere on to the planter itself onto the pages and you'll be able to keep your pens attached alright so those are my DIY ideas for today give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and now let's get into the giveaway so I am giving away four key key K planners they're an Australian based company and I personally think they have the cutest planners the first two
