BenQ X3000i Review - My New Home Theater Projector

**BenQ X3000i Projector Review**

I recently had the opportunity to review the BenQ X3000i projector, and I must say that it's an excellent device that offers exceptional picture quality and features. The first thing that caught my attention was the projector's design and build quality. It's a large projector with a sleek and modern design that can be mounted on the ceiling or used as a freestanding unit. The projector weighs around 18 kg, which is quite heavy, but it feels solid and durable in hand.

One of the standout features of the BenQ X3000i is its picture quality. I was blown away by the vivid colors and crisp details that this projector produces. The color reproduction is outstanding, with a wide range of colors that are accurately represented on screen. The contrast ratio is also impressive, with deep blacks that add depth and dimension to the images. The projector's brightness is adequate for most viewing conditions, and it can produce around 3000 lumens of light, which is sufficient for most rooms.

The BenQ X3000i features a range of connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, and an RF input. It also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) content, which provides a more immersive viewing experience. The projector's remote control is similar to the one used with other BenQ projectors, but I wish it had a few more buttons that would allow me to adjust the HDR settings directly from the remote.

Another feature of the BenQ X3000i is its lens shift mechanism, which allows for easy focus and zooming. However, this is not recommended by BenQ, and I had some issues with it myself. The projector's Keystone correction feature is also useful, but it's not as effective as I would have liked.

One of the biggest drawbacks of the BenQ X3000i is its price. At around three and a half lakhs in India, it's an expensive projector that may be out of reach for many buyers. However, if you're looking for a high-quality projector with exceptional picture quality, this may be worth considering.

I compared the BenQ X3000i to another gaming projector, the BenQ TKS 700, which costs around one and a half lakhs in India. While the TKs 700 is also a great projector, it's not an LED-based device, and it lacks some of the features that make the X3000i stand out. The TKs 700 also has a lower brightness output than the X3000i, which may be a drawback for some users.

Overall, I'm very happy with my experience with the BenQ X3000i projector. It's an excellent device that offers exceptional picture quality and features at a price that's hard to beat. While it's not without its drawbacks, such as the high price and lack of lens shift mechanism, it's definitely worth considering for anyone in the market for a high-quality projector.

**Pricing and Availability**

The BenQ X3000i is available in India at a price of around three and a half lakhs. However, due to various taxes and import duties, the actual cost can be higher than this. The projector is currently not widely available in stores, but it can be purchased online from some retailers.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, the BenQ X3000i projector is an excellent device that offers exceptional picture quality and features. While it's not without its drawbacks, such as the high price and lack of lens shift mechanism, it's definitely worth considering for anyone in the market for a high-quality projector. With its vivid colors, crisp details, and HDR support, this projector is sure to deliver an immersive viewing experience.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and welcome to this video where I'll be showcasing the projector that I opted for my home theater AV setup if you guys keep following me I was creating a dedicated home theater room and yes the important part about uh home theater is the kind of projector that you're using and in fact this took a lot of time I was evaluating a lot of projectors because my needs were slightly different I would say yes of course I wanted to use it for watching movies and stuff for about 70 percent but 30 of the time I also do a lot of gaming on gaming consoles with my friends and my daughter so I wanted a projector that was good for home theaters that is from watching movies and stuff but also good for gaming and I did a lot of research and I finally ended on this BenQ X 3000i projector that I've mounted as you can see in my home theater setup but again this was not my first choice I would say because this is actually pretty pricey projector but I would say this is one of the best for my needs and I'll also let you guys know in my uh what do you say research what is the other projector that I almost opted to buy because that was costing almost half of this one less than half of this one so I'll also talk about that one and again for the projection I'm using a 120 inches screen and this is actually a very very bright projector if you don't know about projectors the amount of lighted outputs is very very important and generally many approaches it just says lumens if they just say Lumen say 10 000 15 000 it's all garbage concentrate on the value that is known as ANSI lumens this is the standard and guys this is actually a very bright projector it produces 300 and C lumens so it's actually pretty bright and the good thing is that this is not a traditional bulb based lighter this is actually a proper LED projector in fact this is having four LED generally we have a three LED projector this is RGB but this has two blue LEDs that's why it's actually and go actually this right that is 300 elements I won't waste too much time in the unboxing so as you can see this is what we get in the Box we get the projector it said we also get this dongle in this one this is Android stick that goes inside the sleeve so you can actually hide it this is the third slot and at the back we have the two HDMI slots and the other ports as you can see so I'll divide this review into uh what do you say what I liked about the projector what are the good things second the some of the things that are not that good not that bad I would say middle of the ground and lastly some of the cons that I've noticed with this projector and I'll also have time stamps because this video can actually become very very big so I'll add that okay the first thing is regarding the 4 LED that this one has and because of that the life of this project is very good in fact in the normal mode it can go up to uh 20 000 hours which is almost 10 uh what is say 10 years or so and if you go move between the Eco Mode it can last up to 30 000 hours this was one of the big reasons that opted for this one instead of the traditional lamb based one you don't have to change the life of the LED light source is actually very very hot in this one and next thing I liked about this projector is this true 4K projector are not a 1080p projector and can produce over that 8.3 million pixels I really wanted a proper 4K projector and the big thing about this projector is that though this is considered a gaming projector but again even for Cinema watching and everything this is very very good because this one is actually having 100 DC ip3 color gamut yes hundred percent yes not rec 709 but DC IP which is fast vastly vastly better and the pictures the images that this projector produces is just amazing the color reproduction is so good out of the box that I was just like wow because generally I I if you guys know I I have high-end televisions like qled television and even OLED and I have to Tinker quite a bit with the picture profiles to get what I want but on this one out of the box the picture quality was very very good and I think so that's the biggest drum card of this projector uh though it's LED based projector the image quality that we are getting out of this one is great so in terms of color calibration BenQ has done a very very good job in fact if you go into the Venus as you can see the amount of calibration that you can do in terms of colors is just insane on this projector again I didn't have to do anything because out of the box it was very good and coming to uh what do you say uh white color gamut when you have a HDR so yes of course this supports HDR and automatically detects when HDR is there you can also invoke the white color gamut in fact a lens actually comes over this one and you you get that 100 BC IP color so if color accuracy is very important for you for example if you're watching movies and stuff you'll really thoroughly enjoy this project I knew yes it would be good because this projector got a lot of awards but I was blown away with the color reproduction that I was getting on this project even for watching movies and series and stuff like that so that way I would say in terms of color reproduction it's very good and also as it's a pretty bright projector even if there is slight ambient light for example the one of the lights in the background is switched on it's okay but again if all the lights are switched off that's when you get the real uh image of this projector and as you can see it produces a beautiful image again guys this is 120 inch screen uh you can I would suggest anywhere between 100 inch production to 150 inch projection on this one it will easily handle because it has that high Lumen output now coming to gaming here also this again why do we call this a gaming project generally there is something known as input lag and for gaming the input lag should be actually very low generally in projectors the input lag is quite high for example something you do on the controller the uh when it projects actually on the screen there is a delay and generally the projectors have anywhere a delay from 40 milliseconds to even 80 90 millisecond milliseconds daily and that's not a good experience if you're gaming on on this projector with 4K at 60 FPS the input delay is just 16 milliseconds this is one of the best in the industry for a 4K based uh what do you say project that's why this is known as a high-end gaming projector now if we drop down the resolution to 1080p then again uh the what do you say input lag reduces to about 8 odd milliseconds and you can go up to 120 frames also on this one in fact you can also go to 240 FPS if you really want if you connect a what do you say PC tour you can do that I didn't do that but yes I played a lot of games as you can see uh on 4K UH 60 FPS and the gaming experience was very good again on the big screen like this gaming you just go to the next level I would say and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience in fact we did a lot of multiplayer gaming sessions I did with Dr also and we thoroughly enjoyed it on this project done so not only it's great for what say watching movies and stuff but again even for gaming I would say and in gaming we have multiple modes on this one for example you have RPG mode FPS mode and all those things those modes are given on this one I won't get too into depth about it if you really want let me know I can produce a different video but yeah overall in a nutshell great even for movies and gaming okay now coming to some of the things that I did not I would say could have been better not strictly cons but could have been better on this project you also have a built-in 10 watt speaker within the projector and I would say these are are okay I wished considering the projector what it is this uh they should have gone with a slightly higher wattage something like a 20 watt with a subwoofer yes it's okay I would say in a nutshell if you don't have a sound bar or something or a sound AVR system uh in a nutshell it produces like a tiny TV sound I would say uh it could have definitely been bad but again if you're interested in this kind of a project and I have that budget you will definitely be having a proper home theater AVS are set up or a sound bar I have actually connected to Atmos sound bar and I also like the fact the second HDMI port is actually ER Port so it can also uh output the atmos signal and up to 7.1 so that way actually you are sort of covered now coming to the dongle on this one again this could happen better you do get this Android dongle as you can see this goes inside this and you get this familiar Android TV interface and this works very well I would say uh I didn't have a problem it was actually pretty fast to be very Frank I was not expecting it to be this fast but the problem is that two apps are not available on this that's Netflix and uh what is the Apple TV these are the two apps that are not available on this dongle that is the qs01 so I ended up actually connecting the Amazon Fire stick 4K match to this one because I wanted that Atmos signal and so again if you're buying this projector uh just be aware of that Netflix and uh what is this uh Apple TV is not available so you might have to actually opt for a third party or what do you say Android stick and I'm using the Amazon Fire stick for 4K Max and it's working very very well okay uh next thing again this is a minor quibble I would say strictly not a con uh when you enable that white color gamut and it enables when you have HDR so there is actually a physical lens that actually moves and you hear the clicking sound I was a little bit worried when I got it but I Googled around that is just normal so again you'll get that clicking sound if you enable that white color gamut with the HDR and whenever you go to regular content the HDR goes off so again the lens automatically lifts so there is a slight sound again I was a little bit worried about it but that's nothing to be it's designed to be like that now moving to the cons as I've told you the big corn is that BenQ Qs want dongle again for the price of this projector this is such an expensive projector I know that BenQ has already produced the qs02 dongle which is compatible with Netflix and other stuff I wished uh they just bundled that dongle in this one because the point of having this external dongle is that later on you can just upgrade to a better quality dongle to get more features so I don't know why BenQ is not any uh giving us the qs02 dongle uh with this one also one big con I have with this projector is as you can see this is a big project and you will mount it over or the ceiling or something like that and yes you do have the focus you can easily focus on this one and also you can zoom in and zoom out so that's not a problem in fact I have kept it about 11.5 feet from the screen and I'm easily getting 120 in screen and you can play around with that one because of the zoom uh digital not digital optical zoom that you have so you have no quality loss but this projector simply does not have any physical lens shifting mechanism so that is a big pain I would say so while installing uh you have to be careful uh so that yes you do have Keystone you can adjust with the Keystone but again Keystone is not recommended so I miss the fact that considering this is a pretty expensive projector we don't have the lens shift mechanism on this one that should happen actually there on this one and also going to the remote controller if you see this remote controller this is almost the same remote controller that we are getting with every BenQ projector again I wished they had a better remote with slightly more buttons directly to control the HDR settings directly within the remote and also I wished it was it was actually backlit remote so I don't know why when using using the same remote on the cheapest projector and even one of the most expensive projector so that is something that I noticed and lastly coming to uh the uh what do you say uh pricing in India this is a pretty expensive projector almost close to about three and a half lakhs and I did a lot of Googling why are projectors so expensive in India problem is in India those projectors are taxed at 20 eight percent GST and apart from that the import tax that's why they are very very expensive so a very very expensive projector I would say in India and I would say if you are okay if you don't have this High budget in fact initially I was actually going for the BenQ TKS 700 uh this is also a gaming projector also produces 3000 lumens but cost just around one and a half lakhs as you can see uh so again this is not a very good option but again the big thing is that the binq tk700 is not a LED based projector but a lamp pulp race projector so and again it also doesn't have the 100 DCP IP but again if you can compromise on those slight things again the pricing of the TK 700 I 700 PK 700 is amazing less than about one and a half lakhs and still it has around 3000 lumens also uh it has 4K gaming at same 16 milliseconds so you get almost 95 of the features of this projector at almost half the cost so again that was my review of the BenQ x3000i projector overall excellent excellent projector I'm very very happy about it and if I have to rate it I would say I would rate a 9 out of 10. if you don't consider the pricing yes in India it's very very expensive but again the quality that you're getting in fact the picture quality that I'm getting on this project with that white color garment is amazing I just loved it so this was my review of the BenQ x3000 I if you guys want to know a little bit more about this projector do let me know I'll be more than happy to answer in fact I like the uh image quality and the color reproduction of this projector so much that I ended up purchasing the BenQ gs50 also that is a portable projector that I'm just using somewhere in my house and around my house and stuff like that so I in a couple of weeks I'll if you guys want I also can produce the in-depth review of the BenQ gs50 portable projector with its pros and cons anyways guys that's it for now thanks for watching this is Ranjit and I hope to see you in my next video take care guyshi there this is Ranjit and welcome to this video where I'll be showcasing the projector that I opted for my home theater AV setup if you guys keep following me
