RIP MODEL 3 2023 Polestar 2 Review

The Tesla Alternative: A New Electric Vehicle to Consider

As we continue to navigate the world of electric vehicles, it's natural to explore alternative options that may offer similar benefits without the high price tag. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the Polestar 2, a new electric vehicle that's generating buzz in the automotive community.

I think it would be a pretty decent alternative other than the space limitations in here but like a lot of people don't need like I lift my leg up and then like I usually don't drive many people around so whatever. Yeah, and then if you've got like a small kid or your wife's not like six feet tall she could probably sit behind the driver too. There was one thing I thought the wife's driving and you're under six feet tall and you could sit in the back too.

There is also one thing that bothered me, which is that uh since the car is only on when you have it in reverse or drive you can't preheat it if it's not plugged in so let's say I went to your house, I don't live there, we had a play date with our kids, I wanted to pre-heat my car outside because it's cold out, I couldn't do that. Yeah, and I guess the app doesn't work in Canada; we couldn't connect to it here. Yeah, so yeah, I bet there's an app for the states; I think yes, it recently got announced.

I don't know if this is less overwhelming and I think it's more calming to drive. I actually think this is better than the EQS because like, the EQS had a bunch of crazy stuff, but I didn't necessarily like all the craziness. I like I like a lot of the simplicity of this; really like I really like the C40. I like a lot about this and yeah, I don't know, I kind of like all the lights on the EQS, but it's like a way more expensive car too.

Yeah, and like the ambient lighting is really nice and calming and stuff, you can see it during the day, which is a really nice interior overall. It's just uh, it's got some things to it; I feel like it's mostly the charging infrastructure that really needs improvement because even Ivy said like, you need an app for that right? Yep, and then they sent out an email saying that apparently, they're working with a Canadian company to make uh paying easier. And I talked to the guy, and that's just literally a QR code that you can scan and pay for.

But like, I feel like QR codes can get vandalized in public too, like I went to Collingwood, and I had to park in front of a beach, and I had to scan a QR code put in my license plate and pay through a browser that was just a sign outside the road. And I'm like, this is so sketchy; I'm really giving my credit card to a sign on the side of the road. Yeah, to a browser that yeah, I don't even know if this is a real company or not.

Moving on to the price, the Polestar 2 starts at $58,950 Canadian, and the dual motor version costs $74,950. This makes it a more affordable option compared to other electric cars, especially for those looking to save money upfront. However, the single motor front wheel drive version is available for five grand less than the all-wheel drive version.

In terms of performance, the Polestar 2 is surprisingly fun to drive and handles really well, making it one of the more enjoyable electric cars on the market. Its design is also quite stunning, with a cool conversation starter that's sure to turn heads.
