Are People Really This Stupid

The Rise of Millennial Pickup Truck Buyers and Electric Vehicle Enthusiasts

In a surprising turn of events, millennials have become the new market for pickup trucks, with sales increasing significantly since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Contrary to expectations that this trend would be short-lived, it appears that millennials are now buying pickup trucks like they're going out of style. This shift in purchasing habits has left many industry experts scratching their heads, wondering what prompted this change in behavior.

The baby boomer generation, on the other hand, is still dominating the market for luxury vehicles. As people age and accumulate wealth, they tend to opt for more expensive and high-end options, leaving millennials to fill the gap with a wide range of affordable pickup trucks. This trend has led to a significant increase in sales for manufacturers like Ford and Chevrolet.

However, it's not just pickup trucks that are seeing a surge in demand from millennials. Electric vehicles (EVs) have become increasingly popular among this age group, with 35 EV sales attributed to millennials as opposed to 29 for baby boomers. This shift towards sustainable transportation is largely driven by environmental concerns and the desire for eco-friendly options.

The rise of electric vehicles among millennials has also led to a significant increase in demand for pickup trucks that can accommodate EVs, such as Tesla's Model 3. The Model 3 has become one of the most sought-after models in recent times, with many buyers opting for the pre-leased version of the vehicle.

Elon Musk's Rise to Fame and Controversy

Time Magazine recently named Elon Musk as their Person of the Year, a title that has sparked both praise and criticism. Some have hailed him as a visionary and a trailblazer in the field of sustainable energy, while others have criticized his business practices and treatment of employees.

Musk's rise to fame can be attributed to his innovative approach to technology and transportation, particularly with Tesla and its Autopilot system. However, some critics argue that Musk's focus on profit over people has led to a series of controversies, including the alleged lack of safety features in Tesla's vehicles and concerns about employee mistreatment.

The Madcap Hybrid of Elon Musk

Time Magazine's description of Elon Musk as a "madcap hybrid of Thomas Edison, P.T. Barnum, Andrew Carnegie, and Dr. Manhattan" highlights his unique blend of innovative thinking and showmanship. Like these historical figures, Musk has an unwavering confidence in his abilities and is not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom.

However, some critics argue that this level of ego and self-promotion can be alienating for those who are not familiar with Musk's brand of innovation. His tendency to prioritize short-term gains over long-term sustainability has also led to criticisms from environmentalists and policymakers.

The Game of Wealth and Influence

Time Magazine notes that the world of electric cars is a game that only the wealthy play, with many manufacturers offering lavish incentives to encourage sales among high-net-worth individuals. This has led to concerns about income inequality and the widening wealth gap in society.

Musk's own business practices have been criticized for prioritizing profit over people, particularly when it comes to his treatment of employees and the environment. Despite these criticisms, Musk remains one of the most influential figures in the world of technology and transportation.

A Baby Born in a Tesla

In a remarkable incident, a baby was born in a Tesla Model 3 while on a road trip from Pennsylvania to New York. The mother's water broke suddenly, prompting her husband to use the Autopilot system to steer the car towards a hospital. The baby, who is reported to have weighed over 7 pounds, was delivered safely in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

This incident highlights the potential benefits of advanced safety features like Autopilot, which can help prevent accidents and save lives. However, it also raises questions about the role of technology in modern transportation and the importance of human intervention in emergency situations.

The Importance of Imagination

Time Magazine's mention of naming a child after a signpost or Tesla has raised concerns about the lack of imagination among some parents. The need to name a child after an object that they have only seen on paper highlights the limitations of our thinking when it comes to creativity and originality.

In conclusion, the rise of millennials in the pickup truck market and electric vehicle enthusiasts is a trend worth noting, particularly as it reflects a shift towards more affordable and sustainable transportation options. Meanwhile, Elon Musk's rise to fame and controversy highlights the complexities of innovation and the need for accountability in business practices.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrev up your engines old gasket said here's how chevy treats their loyal customers my dad just got a letter from chevy and since he is a loyal customer they awarded with 25 on his next service off but to get this he can't use it for an oil change or when he needs to get his tire rotated he has to do it on a major service that got me laughing pretty hard because instead of then paying two thousand dollars for the major service it's only nineteen hundred and seventy five dollars yep that's how they go you know do they really think people are that's stupid you can't use it for an oil change because you know then we wouldn't be making any money but you can use on this massive thing you'll save 25 out of 2 000. all those stuff for lost leaders they always have been that's why some of these companies say you have lifetime free oil changes every time you bring in for an oil change they try to sell you two three thousand dollars worth of crap it's just a scam that everybody pulls and gm's no different than anybody else you know they're all in to rip people off to get them in once they get you in the door then they try to get you for whatever they can it's you know they're sales gimmicks and that's definitely one of them and you treat your customers like that why don't you slap him in the face about the same thing delano says is zero w16 rare thought not wrong only the modern toyota camry and honda fit you zero sixteen oil i go to another shop like autozone rally they never have it on the shelf is it rare the problem is the discount auto parts stores make money by buying low and selling high the zero w16 oil is not cheap you can buy it in many places you got a vehicle that's made for it believe me you want to use it it's perfectly designed for those new cars especially the gdi ones the turbo ones especially designed for that go to amazon like i do buy it online the locals don't have it because they don't make enough profit on it that's the problem with a lot of stores they're only going to sell stuff they can make a profit on they don't make a profit guess what they're not going to sell this stuff and since it's new they don't want to get involved in it they're not making any money what if they don't sell it those guys go by volume and if they sell a massive volume they stock it if not they're not interested they're making a profit on it that's one reason i tell people don't buy oil at the auto parts store they rip you off you know go to walmart you can buy the same oil sometimes it's three or four dollars cheaper than the stuff at the auto parts store they mark it up like mad so lostly do you need oil go to the auto parts store no buy it like i do on amazon or buy a walmart where they got deals don't buy the stuff at stupid auto parts stores because they mark them up too much it's a very common oil many companies make it but you don't want to overpay but at the same time you want to use that and the car was designed for and there's a lot of cars that are designed for now you'd be surprised you want to use it find a good place to buy it buy it there and stay away from the auto parts stores malcolm s says i got 2017 honda civic it's hard starting in cold temperatures five degrees fahrenheit or lower my car fired up after two cranks but my clutch and brake pedals were sticky for 10 miles i warmed it up for four minutes and everything seemed to fine i'm complaining moving where it's even colder when would i need a block heater get a block heater five degrees cold enough it's gonna be that cold all the time here's the main thing starting yeah they'll start but engine oil when it gets cold gets thick down the bottom of the engine top of the engine's bare metal the cams you start it when it's cold if that oil is really thick it's going to take longer to get to the top to the engine to lubricate the cams you're going to wear your cams out it's going to wear your engine out faster you got a block here that oil is warm you want to block heat it heats the oil pan you want the oil to be hot the coolant isn't going to freeze as long as you got antifreeze in it you got to make sure you got antifreeze that's good to that temperature but that doesn't matter that's just the cooling system the lubrication system is the engine oil so you'd want a block oil heater and i definitely get one if you're going to move to even colder place it only makes sense to keep your engine from wearing out don't know here says i can't believe the mercedes-benz designers mindset these modern ones hey i don't know what's going on my neighbor's got one and the solenoid goes bad to shift it out apart now there used to be a little hole there and you could stick a pencil in to open the solenoid so you could start it and then shift it in gear and drive these newer bends still have problems with those solenoids but mercedes-benz designers chose to abolish the emergency pencil opening so every time the solenoid would freeze on my neighbor's car he had to pay for towing and dismantle the whole consular to get to the solenoid and that doesn't even fix it because the solenoid replacement doesn't help against design flaw and every time it freezes you got to tow it in i would never buy a modern benz thanks for sharing you know i've been saying the same thing for years now you're an owner you really know now you can see how much cheaper the newer ones are than the older ones oh well it gets stuck you push pencil away you go no we took that out that's like our car vehicles don't break we don't need to do that yeah they break and then you throw it to them and you spend a fortune it's the way they are and if you want to be in that rip-off mentality keep up with the joneses with your mercedes-benz go ahead and throw your money flush it down the toilet as fast as you can make it but that's how they build them if you saw that video i made in rhode island i got like 160 000 one it was less than a year old and the thing had all kinds of problems already the welds weren't even right and the paint was scraping off and the mirror was broken it's unbelievable that people will pay that kind of money for such crap but as long as they do they'll keep making it so vote with your money and don't buy one well here's a surprising fact millennials just passed the boomers is the biggest group of pickup buyers you would think the millennials would be in the pickups like the boomers were but they are now unexpectedly the millennials have been buying pickup trucks like they're going out of style they thought it was blip with coronavirus when it started but now it's massively increasing and strangely enough the exact opposite is happening with them they're also the biggest market for electric vehicles the millennials are buying 35 of the evs where the baby boomers are only buying 29 the boomers of course getting older and older buying luxury vehicles that cost a ton of money so the more something costs the odds are boomers going to be buying it because they have more money the big question is will they be drinking beer too while they're driving their pickup trucks around but the baby boomers are now numero uno when it comes to buying and driving pickup trucks well elon musk was named time magazine person of the year now take this into consideration that in 1938 time magazine named a man by the name of adolf man of the year back in 1938 so maybe their choices aren't so hot and really when you think about who the heck reads magazines now anyways nobody looks at magazines they're dead people don't read magazines anymore they don't get magazines i kind of agree with their analytics as the guy and i quote they described elon musk as a mad cap hybrid of thomas edison p.t barnum andrew carnegie and watchman's dr manhattan well at least they realize the guy's out of his mind and certainly old adolph was out of his mind too so maybe they are peas in the same pod now of course old elon sees everything he does as progress other people see it differently time magazine explains that some people see is a testament to capitalism failings and staggeringly wealthy mostly white men play by their own rules while much society gets left behind yes isn't that the truth they make these outrageously expensive electric cars that only really wealthy people can't afford and to make it easier they will give the wealthy people even bigger tax breaks if they buy the stupid things it's a game that they're playing by themselves it's quite obvious and of course it's a game to say he's the wealthiest man on the planet well that's on the valuation of stock it's not money and stock is not money until you cash your net and when he starts cashing in all of his guess what the stock is going to come down so he's not really worth what they say he's worth that's just on paper so time magazine picked him because they said he's larger than life and i guess made that is man of the year you know the shadiest dealer of the year for the whole planet i'd agree with that one well hey for once a tesla autopilot actually helped things work there was a baby in pennsylvania that was born on the passenger front side with the help of the autopilot these people were driving around trying to get to the hospital and the baby said time to come out and so with the autopilot going the husband was helping the wife and the baby was born in the front passenger seat of the tesla it's believed to be the first baby born in the tesla and the parents were even thinking of using tests as the middle name but they decided not to come on people let's not be stupid let's not name our children after our cars it shows a total lack of imagination shouldn't be allowed there should be a law against that that's just plain stupidity but these people have no imagination oh look they saw a signpost let's call our child signpost driver husband he didn't go full he had an autopilot kept left hand on the steering wheel and her right hand he gave to his wife so she could squeeze it while she was going into labor when i got to the hospital the doctor came and cut the umbilical cord and took the wife and baby into the hospital then the husband said he made a dash sloppy job of cleaning the seat all up because he drove him back home the next day after everything was said and done now this is the least model three so it's the cheapest one and it's least and they're considering buying it they said but maybe they will maybe they won't maybe someone will get a chance of buying a pre-leased model 3 a baby was born in and there was a lot of goo in it they might have missed some of it and it didn't run into anything so hey for once the tesla autopilot served a purpose though the guy did have his hand on the wheel they didn't let go of the wheel and he obviously wasn't going that fast either he was stuck in a traffic jam trying to make it to the hospital so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that bell\n"
