Sony Budget Tripod VCT-R100 Unboxing - Geekyranjit

The Sony VCT R100 Tripod: An Unboxing and Review

As I sit here with my two Sony tripods, I can't help but think about why I'm unboxing one of them again. It's not that I don't like this particular tripod; in fact, it's one of my favorites. But every week, almost five or six emails from viewers asking about the equipment I use come flooding in. So, here we are, with the Sony VCT R100 tripod up for review.

The Sony VCT R100 is actually a second tripod that I've purchased, and it's identical to the one I'm currently using. I've been using this tripod for almost three years now, and it's been an integral part of my YouTube videos. In fact, I'd say I use this tripod about 70% of the time for my videos. So, why did I get another one? Well, I was browsing through a local camera store in India, and I stumbled upon this exact same tripod on sale. I picked it up and purchased it, thinking that maybe having two identical tripods would come in handy.

As you can see, the Sony VCT R100 is quite compact. It weighs only 1.2 kilograms, making it a great option for those who want to travel light or need something easy to set up on location. The minimum height of this tripod is 14 inches, which may seem small compared to some other tripods on the market. However, I've found that this size is actually quite convenient for indoor shoots or when working with smaller cameras.

One of the things that sets the Sony VCT R100 apart from its competitors is the handy carry pouch that comes with it. This little bag is a lifesaver when it comes to storing and transporting my tripod on the go. It's also nice to see that the manual that comes with this tripod provides good instructions on how to set up and use it.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "What about the head and legs of the tripod?" Well, let me tell you – the head is quite flexible, allowing for easy adjustment in various angles. This makes it perfect for those who want to capture a wide range of shots without having to switch cameras or tripods. The aluminum legs are also lightweight and easy to carry around, making this tripod an excellent option for photographers on-the-go.

However, I do want to note that the Sony VCT R100 is not a heavy-duty tripod. It's designed more for casual use and travel than for heavy outdoor work or field shoots. If you're someone who plans to use your tripod in harsh weather conditions or with large cameras, this may not be the best option for you.

Speaking of which, I have another Sony tripod that I'd like to introduce to our readers. The Sony VCT R640 is a larger, more robust tripod than the R100, but it's still part of the same series. This tripod has a quick mount tray and an even bigger carrying pouch, making it perfect for those who need something more substantial for their shoots. I've used this tripod perhaps 30-35% of the time, mostly for when I'm working on more complex projects or need to capture specific shots that require more stability.

So, there you have it – my unboxing and review of the Sony VCT R100 tripod. While it may not be the sturdiest or most heavy-duty tripod on the market, it's an excellent option for those who want something compact, lightweight, and easy to use. And with its handy carry pouch and flexible head, I can confidently say that this tripod is one of my favorites.

That's all for now, folks! If you have any questions or comments about this review, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video!

so this is the sony vct r100 tripod and actually this is the second tripod i'm that i'm buying the same model is the one i'm using currently and i like this tripod i've been using this tripod now for almost about three years and i would say for around 70 of the time for my youtube videos i just use this tripod actually i was not getting this one so i just found it in the local market so i picked it i picked one more up and this is uh what do you say not a very heavy duty uh tripod it's a relatively small tripod and as you can see it can take weight up to 1.2 kilograms and the minimum height is 14 inches and i got it for rupees 1490 in a local camera store here so let us open up this one now i actually also have another sony tripod that i use i'll show you that uh later on and as you can see the good thing is that we do get this handy carry pouch with this one and here is the tripod itself let me take that out we also get some uh manuals and uh to give you an idea about the tripod and its features and how you can set it up in various angles and as you can see this is the vct r100 uh it's uh you don't get a tray but you just mount your cameras here i actually prefer this than quick mount trace uh the other sony uh tripod that i have has a quick mount tray it's easily adjustable the heads is adjustable you can also move this open this and adjust it and move your camera to 90 degree angles so it's a pretty flexible tripod it's a small tripod again i would say it's not a heavy duty a tripod it's a very light tripod the legs are aluminium so it's easy to carry around but if you're a person who likes to do a lot of field work outdoors i would not recommend this tripod because it's a very what do you say a light weight and not designed for very heavy duty and uh let me show you the other sony tripod that i use this is actually a lot bigger than this and as you can see we have the quick mount tray with this one the handle is bigger so it's easy to do pan shots in this one and the model number for this is the vct r640 it's a lot bigger i use this i would say just around the 30 35 of the time mostly i use the other one that i showed and let me bring back the r100 tripod that we unboxed again as you can see it's pretty compact so i actually i like it because you can carry it around and as i said it's pretty light also you can extend the legs it opens and i would say fully extending it it's not a very uh tall uh tripod uh but it can go up to about three and a half feet this you can open this one also and this also extends so that's it for now for this
