The Redmi 5A: A Car-Sized Smartphone with Impressive Gaming Performance

Today, I'm excited to share with you my experience with the Redmi 5A, an affordable Android phone by Xiaomi that's often referred to as a "car smartphone" due to its impressive specs. Available for just Rs. 5,000, this device is a steal considering its features and performance. But how does it hold up in terms of gaming? Let's find out!

Firstly, I'd like to highlight that the Redmi 5A is available for as low as Rs. 4,000 if you enroll in the Xiaomi Go4 program, which makes it an incredible value for money. Now, let's get started with some gaming! I've chosen three games to test the device's performance: Subway Surfer, Dead Trigger 2, and Asphalt Extreme.

Let's start with the least demanding game, Subway Surfer. As you can see in this video, the game is running smoothly without any issues, even with the volume turned up to maximum. This suggests that casual games like Subway Surfer should not be a problem for this device. Furthermore, I'm impressed by the screen quality, which is good enough for the price point. There's no lag or stuttering whatsoever when playing the game, and it's handling it really well.

Next up, let's try out Dead Trigger 2, a medium-level heavy game. As you can see in this video, the game is running without any issues, even at high volumes. Even medium-level heavy games like Dead Trigger 2 will play fine on this device, with no noticeable lag or stuttering. I'm pleased to say that the gaming performance of the Redmi 5A is actually really good considering its price point.

Now, let's put the device through a more challenging test – Asphalt Extreme, a demanding game known for its frame rate drops and high graphics requirements. As you can see in this video, there are some minor frame drops, but they're not too noticeable. While it's not going to be a fluid gaming experience with very heavy games like Asphalt Extreme, mid-level to casual games should play fine on this device. Considering the price point, I'd say the gaming performance is actually really good.

One area where I might nitpick is the earpiece speaker – it could have been slightly louder. However, apart from that, for the price point and with the Geo4 offer, I think the Redmi 5A is an incredible device. If you're in the market for a budget-friendly smartphone with impressive gaming performance, this should definitely be on your radar.
