The Star of the Phone: The Camera
As I say it, the star of this phone is indeed the camera. It's clear that the camera plays a crucial role in the overall performance of the device. As you can see, it says yes, it was a Calcius lens, and it's a 6.1 megapixel camera. The best part? The f-stop is 1.9, making low-light photography a breeze with this one. I'll be testing that out extensively to see how it holds up.
But the camera isn't the only impressive feature of this phone. We also have a LED flash, Nokia branding, and an opening for the speakerphone. Moving on to the front, we find a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera that can shoot video up to 720P HD. The rear-facing camera can also shoot video up to 720p and is ready for some quick physical overview.
Physical Overview
We have the 3.5 mm headphone jack and, of course, where you insert your micro SIM. Just insert a pin, and this tray comes out on this end. We have the volume rocker, power on/off button, and a dedicated camera button on the bottom. On this side, we find the micro USB slot that will be used for charging. And, as an added bonus, there's also a microphone hole, and if you press this side, it opens up to add a Micro SD card up to 64 GB. The internal storage is 8 GB, which should suffice for most users.
Unlocking the Phone
Let me just unlock the phone for you, and as you can see, we have the new tile interface that comes with Windows Phone 8. These are where our apps will be stored, and they're looking sleek and modern. Let's quickly go to the settings and take a look at what else this phone has to offer.
Settings
Unlike the Lumia 520, this one does have equalizer and also Dolby enhancement, so you get that complete suite. The processor and RAM are the same as the Lumia 52620 – it sports a 1 GHz dual-core processor and an Adreno 305 GPU. However, I do want to note that the RAM is just 512 MB, which might be a concern for some users who play games on their phones.
Battery Life
One of the things that I have to comment on is that the battery life on this phone might not be as long-lasting due to the low amount of RAM. Windows Phone requires at least 1 GB of RAM to run certain games, so we'll have to see how that affects performance.
Display
But overall, the build quality and looks are very good. The back is non-removable, and the battery is sealed inside, making it a large 2000 milliampere battery. And let me tell you, this display is great! See how the viewing angles? It's a 4.3-inch screen, and I'm impressed by its quality.
What Do You Say?
As we're connected to our Wi-Fi network, the browser opens up pre-installed, and it loads websites pretty quickly. Let's try out some pinch-to-zoom gestures – see how smooth that is? No issues at all! And let's play back a video embedded on this device. It's opening in a separate app and maximizing the volume review.
Bluetooth Speaker Review
But before I go any further, I want to give you a quick rundown of another product that caught my eye – the JBL Flip Bluetooth wireless speaker. This is the JBL Flip, and it's a portable Bluetooth wireless speaker system. It supports 3.5 mm audio output, and I've found that it plays music pretty well.
Support
Here are some features that make this speaker great:
* Portable design
* Wireless connectivity
* Long battery life (up to 20 hours)
* Waterproof and dustproof
* 40W of peak power output
Overall, the JBL Flip is an excellent addition to any music lover's collection. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done.
