Redmi 6A Budget ₹6k Smartphone Unboxing & Overview

Unboxing and First Look: Xiaomi Redmi 6A

The new Xiaomi Redmi 6A has finally arrived, and I'm excited to share my first impressions with you guys. As soon as I took this phone out of the box, I noticed that it had a very sleek design with a glass back and a metal frame. The device feels very premium in terms of build quality, despite being a budget-oriented smartphone. However, I did notice that the internal storage was pretty low on this device, which is only 8.2 GB out of the total 16 GB.

As soon as I started using the phone, I noticed that it had a face unlocking feature, which took around a second or two to unlock. This is not surprising, given that face unlocking is still a relatively new technology and requires some processing power to work smoothly. The UI of this phone is very similar to my previous Xiaomi devices, with a lot of pre-installed apps that I don't think anyone needs.

One thing that caught my attention was the RAM on this device, which is only 2 GB. This is not enough for heavy gaming or multitasking, and I'm concerned about how well it would handle demanding tasks. However, general operations seem to be smooth, and I didn't experience any lag while using the phone.

The chipset of this device is the Helio A22 by MediaTek, which is a relatively new and powerful processor. Xiaomi has been touting this as one of its selling points, but I'm not sure if it will live up to its promises. In my brief usage so far, the phone seems to be handling everyday tasks without any issues.

The camera of this device is also worth mentioning. Although I didn't get a chance to take many photos with the rear-facing camera, what I did take seemed okay for the price. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, was impressive, especially considering its low resolution of 5 megapixels. It had some nice features like portrait mode, which was a pleasant surprise.

If you're planning to buy this phone, one thing to keep in mind is that it's sold in India for around 6000 rupees, which is a relatively affordable price point. However, if you opt for the 3GB variant, it will cost almost 7000 rupees, which seems like a lot of money for what you're getting.

Overall, my first impression of the Xiaomi Redmi 6A is that it's a solid budget phone with some nice features. While it may not be the best performer in terms of performance, it should handle everyday tasks without any issues. The camera, on the other hand, seems to be one of its strong points.

In the next couple of days, I'll be publishing more content about this device, including a longer review and some sample photos taken with the rear-facing camera.
