The Art of Notebooks: A Journey of Innovation and Design

As we take a closer look at the world of notebooks, it's clear that innovation and design are key factors in creating a product that stands out from the rest. The latest advancements in technology have given rise to a new breed of laptops that not only excel in performance but also in style and functionality.

One such notebook that caught our attention is the S121 from Asus. This elegant and groundbreaking laptop boasts up to 512GB of solid-state drive, making it one of the most impressive notebooks we've seen in terms of storage capacity. The battery life is equally impressive, with a whopping eight hours of power on a single charge. The design is sleek and sophisticated, with genuine leather and Swarovski crystal accents that make it a true masterpiece.

The S121 is also notable for its use of the Atom Z520 processor, which not only reduces energy consumption but also provides incredible battery life. This makes it an ideal choice for those who need a laptop that can keep up with their busy lifestyle without draining their batteries. The profile of the notebook is slim and compact, making it easy to carry around.

The future of notebooks looks bright indeed, thanks to innovative designs like the S121. But what about users' ideas and input? That's where Asus' WPC (World's PC) program comes in. Launched in partnership with Intel, this platform allows users to submit their design concepts, share their ideas, and get feedback from a community of fellow enthusiasts.

The WPC forum is a hub for users to come together and share their thoughts on what they'd like to see in future notebooks. Ideas range from waterproof designs to dual touch screens and even futuristic features like sea glass displays. These submissions are then evaluated by Asus' design team, who take note of the most popular ideas and incorporate them into upcoming products.

One such concept that caught our attention is the "Bold" series. This line of notebooks aims to simplify the computer experience, making it more user-friendly and easier to use. The idea is to create a notebook that can be folded into different positions, allowing users to transfer information wirelessly between devices. This feature, dubbed "Flat Sharing Mode," enables seamless data transfer and collaboration.

Another concept that's gaining traction is the "Unfold" series, which focuses on user experience. By folding the notebook into different configurations, users can easily share files and collaborate with others in a more human way. The design of these notebooks prioritizes ease of use and functionality, making them an attractive option for those who value simplicity.

As we look to the future, it's clear that innovation will play a key role in shaping the world of notebooks. With designs like the S121 and concepts from the WPC forum, Asus is well-positioned to lead the charge. By incorporating user feedback and ideas into their design process, they're creating products that are not only impressive but also meaningful.

The future of notebooks looks bright indeed, with innovative designs and user-centric approaches leading the way. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or simply looking for a reliable notebook, there's never been a better time to explore the world of WPC.

important that you also know what differentiates us one thing that we're showing at the show today is that uh a lot of the new epcs have all-day computing what that means is that you can get up to nine and a half hours of battery life uh in our epcs now um the reason that we can do that is because we have a super hybrid engine inside uh that's very simple that we use a very similar thing in our motherboards uh video cards and also uh some of our laptops um but it intelligently regulates power usage so that when you're actually uh using when your applications need the power it's delivered but when they don't uh you're drawing far less power so 9.5 hours of battery life is not something that anybody can touch us on right now now uh one thing i wanted to highlight was a new member of the epc customers kitchen table nice etop good stuff and what's this one all about dave okay the s121 is an elegant and groundbreaking notebook it's groundbreaking because as you can see here it has up to 512 um solid-state drive so uh far more capacity than we than we've seen up to this point uh it also has eight hours of battery life because of asus integrated super hybrid engine um in a 12.1 inch form factor you get just a beautiful laptop with genuine leather cream colored palm rest you have swarovski crystal uh in each of the ends here and look at that profile it's just a very very beautiful notebook nice and thin uh it's kind of a hybrid because it runs on an atom processor that means that it's uh also using less energy and that also accounts for the uh incredible battery life that you can get atom z520 yep it's a z520 very nice s121 so we're here now with uh brian jang and peter clark from asus guy's going to tell us about the wii pc program and how readers and i guess the folks out there in the community can contribute to some design concepts right what's it all about guys so uh as you all know see us in intel have created wepc.com it's a place where users can come to submit their ideas images and inspiration of their ideal pc now these designs feature ideas community feedback is going to be evaluated by a student and can actually be a blueprint for an actual notebook built by a suits with intel inside some of the cool ideas right now are you know we waterproof notebooks dual touch screens future proof notebooks sea glasses things like that we have special tools to create these uh express these concepts by using our graffiti tool you could draw out your concept you could share your ideas in our community you could uh join discussions with our authors we pc bloggers and you can also get the latest news and innovation with uh wii pc tv uh this is peter clark he's our concept designer from asus headquarters as brian mentioned uh we pc is our program to get users ideas about how we how they would like to be how they would like their notebooks to be in the future so it's great for us to get input at a very early stage to really see what is important to use because um from our office we don't always get to talk to everybody so it's great to get that kind of input and to get it's great to get all these all these features and ideas um now the challenge for us is going to be to find the most powerful features and to try and implement them into a computer that we can sell so we're going to take these ideas and try and take them on to the next level so this can be become a commercial product but in the end this product is going to be something that is designed by the users and it's got input from the users so hopefully it's going to be something that they really like nice nice and you have some concept products over here yeah so this is showing the kind of concept products that we create in our design team actually it's funny some of the ideas that the wii pc forum has brought to our attention are some ideas that we've been thinking about too so i think there's going to be some good synergy there so going forward hopefully we can take these ideas and then perhaps uh introduce them into our advanced concepts so hopefully uh the users of vpc forum can look to our uh shows in the future in our advanced concepts and see some of their own ideas in the future and what's the bold unfold uh concept yeah this is pretty interesting little thing here well the bold and bold concept started out as an idea to look into the future of notebooks perhaps uh between we've been looking into the future in in the time uh times scheme of about three to five years in the future what we're thinking about is simplifying the computer making it easier to use making it lighter all these kind of things that we think will make computers better in the future on the on this side we have the unfold concept which is all about user experience this is about a notebook that can fold into different positions which will allow users to transfer information wirelessly between users in this configuration it's called the flat sharing mode so uh users can pass files between each other so it allows people to work in a more a human way we think that's very important in design so whereas with we pc we taking uh the user's ideas we're always very
