The Latest Motorola Droid Phones for Verizon: A Closer Look
Hey guys, so today I have a video for you on some possible new Motorola Droid phones for Verizon. Thanks to Boy Jeans reporters, we've gotten two really big leagues looks like we're getting a really solid picture of what the new Droid phones we're going to be seeing this year are.
The first one we'll be taking a look at is the Motorola Droid 2 World Edition. This name suggests it's simply a CDMA plus GSM version of the standard Droid 2. Now, what this means is that you'll actually be able to use it on the standard CDMA network of Verizon but you'll also be able to take it all around the world and sure work pretty much just fine as it will support the GSM standard which is very common around the world.
This is great because you'll be able to just pop another SIM card in, so if you're in the UK, you can just pop in a UK SIM card etc. etc., instead of having to go ahead and buy another phone or try to find some other workaround. So, it's definitely a nice feature, especially since it will also come in two colors - black and white.
However, this is not going to be a phone that you can just walk out the door with, because it's only going to be extremely popular among certain people, like those who frequently travel or have family in other countries. It's only going to be worth getting if you're one of them.
But, on the other hand, it definitely is going to be a nice feature to be able to not just stick to Verizon networks. Now, let's take a look at the Motorola Droid Pro.
The Droid Pro is actually going to be a really powerful phone, as it's not only going to have a four-inch screen but also a 1.3 gigahertz CPU. This is a really nice step up for most other phones today, such as the iPhone 4, the Droid X, etc., and it's also going to have full GSM roaming capabilities just like the Droid 2 World Edition.
This means that if you're looking for a phone like this, you should definitely wait till November when it actually gets announced and released. The Droid Pro is going to be even better than what we've seen so far, especially for business customers who are maybe coming off of a world version of a Blackberry.
Personally, I think the Droid 2 World Edition is going to be kind of nice, especially for business customers who are maybe coming off of a world version of a Blackberry. But my pick is definitely going to be the Droid Pro. I like that it's going to have a four-inch screen - I think that's about the sweet spot for touch-screen smartphones these days.
The 1.3 gigahertz CPU is also nothing to be disappointed with, especially when you consider what you'll be able to do with it, such as roam abroad and use GSM networks. It's going to be a really nice thing, so guys, definitely let me know in the comments what you think about these phones.
