Turbo Civic Wagon Build (Part 2 Ebay Turbo)

The Turbo Installation: A Step-by-Step Guide

This video has just been uploaded and it's going to feature the installation of a turbocharger on Charlie's Wagyu, which is an eBay find. The total cost for this upgrade was $120, including shipping, and it came with a variety of gaskets for the exhaust system as well as the oil fitting. This means that the new turbocharger should work fairly well without major issues.

However, there were some initial challenges to overcome before installation could begin. The downpipe from the previous setup doesn't quite fit with the new turbocharger due to its three-inch diameter and it hits the transfer case in the oil pan right here. To resolve this issue, the team decided to cut off four inches of the exhaust pipe as they found that the stock one was too long for the new turbocharger.

The next step involved cutting a piece to fit under the transfer case, allowing the flange to line up properly with the turbocharger. This would require precise measurements and adjustments to ensure a smooth installation process. The team is confident in their abilities and are eager to get started on this challenging project.

As the team began working on Charlie's Wagyu, they discovered that the new turbocharger required some special modifications. The exhaust pipe needed to be cut off by four inches due to its length, which would allow it to fit properly with the new setup. Additionally, the team found that the stock exhaust pipe was too long for the new turbocharger, so adjustments had to be made.

In a moment of levity, one member of the team joked about Charlie's first time using a MIG welder, and the team couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of it shaking in his hands. The welder proved to be quite useful in filling small holes and making various adjustments to the setup.

The next challenge involved removing the transfer case from Charlie's Wagyu to access the oil pan. This required a bit more effort, as the team had to take apart other components to get to the desired location. Once they finally reached the oil pan, they found it to be filled with various rods and sleeves.

In this section, we can see that the eagle rods are still present, even after removing some of the older components. The team also noted that there were still some issues with the sleeves, which may require further attention during the installation process.

Moving forward, the team needed to decide where they would drill the next hole for the turbocharger. This was an important decision, as it would determine how effectively the new setup could function. Fortunately, the team had access to a MIG welder, which allowed them to make precise adjustments and repairs as needed.

In a moment of whimsy, one member of the team decided to color their "enemy girl" back in, seemingly referencing an unrelated topic or inside joke. The only remaining component was the cleavage well, which provided a visually interesting distraction from the main task at hand.

As Charlie prepared to restart his engine for the first time, the team couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. They had all worked tirelessly to get this far, and it would be thrilling to see the new turbocharger in action.

In an amusing twist, one member of the team noted that Charlie's artwork on the valve cover was his "best attempt" at creating something, despite some minor setbacks during the process. The end result showed a crude yet charming drawing of what appeared to be a baby - it will surely serve as a reminder of this memorable project.

Finally, with everything bolted down and ready for ignition, the team stood nervously in anticipation of Charlie's engine roaring back to life. With their hard work and dedication, they had overcome numerous challenges and brought this turbocharged engine to life.
