THE HYPONIST'S LOVE STORY BY LIANE MORIARTY & THE SINGLES GAME BY LAUREN WEISENBURGER BOOK REVIEWS

**Singles Game by Lauren Weisenberger: A Review**

I recently received an email from Quarterly about their new Literary Box, which features a curated selection of books and other items inspired by the author's interests. The box is being released this month, and I was excited to learn that Lauren Weisenberger, the author of The Devil Wears Prada, is curating it. However, there seems to be some confusion - Lauren Weisenberger is not actually curating the box herself, but rather studying a book by her favorite author.

As a fan of celebrity culture and media, I was intrigued by this development. I decided to read Singles Game by Lauren Weisenberger, which had been recommended to me as a great summer read. The book tells the story of Charlotte "Charlie" Silver, a young tennis player who is trying to make it big in the sport. Charlie's life is turned upside down when she meets her new coach, Lurch, who promises to transform her image and help her become a top-ranked player.

I was drawn into Charlie's world from the start, and I loved learning about the inner workings of professional tennis. The book is full of fascinating details about the sport, including the strict training regimens that professional players must adhere to. Weisenberger also explores the world of celebrity culture, highlighting the ways in which athletes are often expected to conform to certain standards or images.

One of the things I appreciated most about this book was its portrayal of Charlie as a complex and nuanced character. She is not simply a "good girl" who is trying to make it big - she has flaws and vulnerabilities that make her feel more real. As Charlie navigates the challenges of professional tennis, she must also contend with her own personal demons and the pressure to conform to certain expectations.

I was also impressed by Weisenberger's ability to balance action and drama in this book. The story is engaging and suspenseful, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers guessing. At the same time, the author takes care to develop Charlie's character and explore her emotional journey in a thoughtful and realistic way.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Singles Game by Lauren Weisenberger. It was a great summer read that kept me up late into the night, eager to find out what would happen next. If you're a fan of celebrity culture or tennis, this book is definitely worth checking out. And even if you're not familiar with either topic, I think you'll still enjoy Charlie's story - it's a compelling and relatable tale about chasing your dreams and overcoming obstacles.

**My Review**

I recently finished reading Singles Game by Lauren Weisenberger, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. The book is a great summer read, and it kept me engaged from start to finish. One of the things I appreciated most about this book was its portrayal of Charlie as a complex and nuanced character. She is not simply a "good girl" who is trying to make it big - she has flaws and vulnerabilities that make her feel more real.

I also loved learning about the world of professional tennis through Weisenberger's eyes. The author does a great job of balancing action and drama in this book, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers guessing. At the same time, she takes care to develop Charlie's character and explore her emotional journey in a thoughtful and realistic way.

One thing that really stood out to me about this book was its exploration of the media culture surrounding athletes. Weisenberger highlights the ways in which athletes are often expected to conform to certain standards or images, and it was fascinating to see how this played out in Charlie's story.

Overall, I would highly recommend Singles Game by Lauren Weisenberger to anyone looking for a great summer read. It's a compelling and relatable tale about chasing your dreams and overcoming obstacles, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged from start to finish.

**Rating: 4/5**

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that it was well-written and engaging. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that it was a bit predictable at times, and some of the supporting characters felt a little one-dimensional. However, these are minor quibbles, and overall I would highly recommend Singles Game to anyone looking for a great summer read.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to do another mashup review I don't know my charities are pretty much I'll take two or more books to then and I'll have an a of read recently tell me briefly when I saw pumpkins it I'm reviewing two books for you the first one's going to be the hypnotists love story by the in Moriarty and the second ones would be the singles game by Lauren Weisenberger I will leave timestamps down below if you wanna watch one or the other if you watch both that's great and I will say these both will be spoiler free so basically what I do is tell you briefly what I thought about that and what I liked what I didn't like and give you a rating and that's all I'm gonna do we're trying to keep this short and sweet and let you know what I thought about these two books the first one I'm gonna be talking about today is the hypnotists love story by Liam Mario actually this is my third Liam order to book I've read Pig little lies and what else forgotten this is my third one I will stay still out of those three what else forgot is probably my favorite after three so just let you know this is all about a hypnotist named el she is looking for love she always feels like she can't ever find it she's very content with her wife but she still wants to find that someone and then she meets this guy named Patrick and they hit it off immediately and Patrick tells her that his ex-girlfriend is actually stalking him Ellen is really intrigued by the stalker thing as most women be kind of turned off by it kind of scared by Ellen's kind of intrigued she thought she wants to meet this stalker ex-girlfriend and she actually already has and that's not spoiling anything it's in the back of the book for you so that's basically our whole problems to the book headiness falala she learns that her boyfriend has a stalker and her boyfriend also has a child and he's also widows so we have all that going on well I like this book I didn't love it as is all of Liam where are these books they're a quick fast read if you want something to read fast and keep you captivated look no further nice day it will keep me captivated but when I'm in the back on this story I didn't love it I just enjoyed it like I said my favorite language of books what else forgot I just really liked that one and that's the highest rate this mine I've given it's like giving in for the other to have given in a three as well as this one I gave it a 3 I will say this is one of her lower rated books and I could see why not enjoy the main character a lot and that's pretty rare for me usually I can get on board the main character because it's our main character but I didn't I was kind of wishy-washy about on all throughout the book I wanted to like her but she had some up and downs I didn't really feel like I was dead are you now as well as her in Patrick's relationship I didn't really feel spark I didn't really feel connection it felt kind of forced to kind of fake I don't know if I was the only one that felt that when I read it but I didn't really get the sense that they were in love I didn't really feel it it was mostly apprehension and nervousness and just kind of fake and it was Ellen's that have a person that wants to remain happy all the time and I get that but she's not willing to fight in a relationship because every relationship we're gonna fight I just didn't really love Ellen and I didn't feel like they were just connecting now but this is one of the books this is one of the few books I've read that I didn't really love the love in it does that make sense I didn't enjoy the relationship I felt like it was just kind of very off and the whole stopper thing we got three we got two points it'd be pretty much in this book we got Ellen and we got Patrick s girlfriend the stalker saskia I forget her name but it was really interesting so her point of view and she was you know she didn't think of herself as a stalker she was still in love with Patrick I really I will say I did enjoy that part of the one I loved getting her point of view and that and overall I just I want to say you could probably pass on this one I feel like every Lane where I just look but I read it in like four days it's just something about me more at his writing that just sucks me in and she tells a good story don't get me wrong I'm invested in the story it's just at the end I don't feel like really like like I poured my whole heart and soul in this story I just liked it looking for a quick summer read this is probably one for you and if you're looking for if you're looking to read tons of Liam ra books I will say this is the one for you but mostly if you're looking to get into her I would seats what else forgot my favorite and I do plan every the husband super soon because that's like her most popular book ever so I don't worry that soon but I'm not sad I read this at all but I just wish it was more I wish the love with us of course I wish that feelings weren't so under the surface I felt like things could have been said a lot more in this didn't enjoy the main character or the love interest that's where it really fell flat for me so I three out of five necessarily did not hate it I just didn't love it as much as I wanted to next up I'm gonna be talking about the singles game by Lauren Weissenberg I was actually sent this to me by quarterly because they're releasing a new box this month and it's the literary box so Lauren why isn't lurch actually curating it and she's studying this book as well as two other books that really inspire her and other things so do you want to link to that box which I find they're going to be cool that the author's gonna curate it I will link it down below but I read this one because I've never read a Lauren Weisenberger book and she wrote The Devil Wears Prada which I'm not read but the movies one of my favorite movies one of my favorite chick flicks to watch on a rainy day nope can't tell her to go the picture on this it's about tennis this fall is a tennis player named Charlotte really about her trying to move up that ladder and about her finding this new coach that's really a hard brutal coach now this coach is very he wants to do a whole image change on her he wants her not to be the good the good sweet girl Charlotte's always been to be actually the warrior princess and he wants to change her image Baker kind of you know crazy do a lot of media stuff and basically what it's about it's about tennis throwing almost like a lot of like celebrity to have a media stuff overall I really enjoyed this book above the world that you've got to learn more top tennis about this whole world it was very intriguing learning about that learning the specific qualifications you have to have and really the strict regimen you have to be on with tennis not just tennis with any sport obviously if you're a professional but wow wow that I could never live that life but kudos to fresh water they put a lot of time and work and strict and just working out constantly that's just insane I love the world we got into a tennis and all that stuff you know you get taken to Wimbledon she was open to the french open to all these various huge elite tennis matches that you know you hear about because I'm not really read about but I really loved our main character Charlotte she is quit essentially she's a good girl she's got a good heart she really loves what she does she's not in it for the money she loves tennis it's her passion she's young she wants to do this while she can and she has injury in the very beginning of the book that really could set her back a lot some people tell her you know don't even try but she wants to try she this is her life goal her passion and so she hires this new coach and he completely changed image could they changes everything makes her workout more and it's a good and bad thing with this coach because he brings up a really good side in her but he also brings out this media celebrity stuff that just really was her downfall and you know reading this you get to see you start to think a lot you know are some couples like fake are real with all just a play for media to get me the attention you really think that would read this book because you're like oh I see it and you know elaborate schemes for me it just really shows you how I don't know despicable how I think maybe I don't know but that maybe you could do when you go on it but just reading about it really open my eyes to warm up man these people just overall I guess that I really like Charlotte and I really love this book I will say feel of tenants pick it up I think it was true to tennis I don't know but I loved our main character I love just the journey of tennis about her doing with this media crisis and just I really did enjoy this book so my first warm eisenberg novel I'm not disappointed I definitely pick up more of her book so if you've read any more of them please let me know I can't this one four out of five because I flew through it it's like two days which is which is really unlike me but sometimes with chick flicks I could just eat them up like candy quite literally but like I said I enjoyed this one I think it's a great summer read especially with Tennant especially if you look tenants pick this up Sena give it four out of five so I did enjoy so that was my magic review of these two books I hope it wasn't too short but I wanted to make it short and sweet and just let you know what I thought about them in general in case you're deciding to pick one of these up let me know if you read either of these two books I would love to know let me know what you thought about them as well and if you liked this video be sure to give it a thumbs up and hit subscribe that would mean so much to me I will see you guys next time bye take your time with mehello everyone today I'm here to do another mashup review I don't know my
