The Review of the Griffin Powermate: A Comprehensive Analysis

As I sat down to review the Griffin Powermate, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. This glorified volume knob that's basically what I use it for honestly um I am I the type of person who listens to music while I sleep or podcast or watches a podcast video or listen to the radio anything like that basically I I am a media nut I'm usually listening to Media during the day but at night time I like to listen to music while sleeping or going to bed so I have this thing near my bed um it does it does include a USB extension cable which is nice cuz unfortunately this is not wireless but since my desk is not exact ly too close to my bed I have two USB extension cables plugged into this thing and then sitting by my bed for night time.

I'm trying to keep this video nice and simple because this is literally like my fifth take and I got to be honest this is kind of a difficult product to uh talk about um I do I do love the Power Mate but it's a very Niche product it's not for everyone so I'm going to do my best to um get through this video so first of all let's talk about the pros this thing is not cheap at all guys in terms of build quality believe me when I say this thing is metal it feels good it's it does not feel cheap at all it has a very smooth turn to it um it doesn't have that clicky turn to it uh that you might expect out of other scroll wheels or in terms of like a scroll wheel on a mouse for instance but this thing is very very smooth. This thing supports all kinds of commands which is awesome obviously you can scrub right scrub left to control Vol or anything you want video editing audio editing scroll web pages you can also o click once uh real quick to maybe stop your music or do whatever you um have it set up to do you can also click and hold for instance I have mine to um eject my dis tray if I click and hold you can also click hold and turn right and click hold and turn left and again what the Powermate does is what you tell it to do so I can have it say play next song If I click hold and turn right click hold and turn left and it's basically a very simple product but it's also it's also very very powerful. You can basically use this for any application or program that you have in mind um for instance if I was in Photoshop I could click and hold to um apply a certain key stroke for instance a filter or something like that sorry screen saver or an iTunes I can click and hold to stop my music and anything like so basically it's up to your imagination. It sounds like a commercial it's up to your imagination what you get out of this is what you put into it.

Now, let's talk about the cons. My last Pro is certainly probably probably the best one because I'm a huge fan of Lights this thing does emit blue as as you probably seeing in the video clip right now um and it looks very cool at night time. Okay as cool as this product is there are a few cons that I have to point out but they're not major cons first of all let's point out the software is a little limited um yes you can apply any kind of keystroke you want but that's basically all all you can do you cannot set up any extra options for this thing um you cannot have a certain time for it to go off at night if if the light's distracting um yes you can unplug it but that kind of defeats the purpose of ease of use which Bas me to my second point is you cannot turn light off when plugged in. I really wish there was a switch on the side for instance like I said this thing this thing is by my bed at night time and I like to listen to music as mentioned but the blue light can can be a little distracting at night time and third is easily the biggest con of all and that is that there's no Wireless option whatsoever something like this. I really wish there was a wireless option because let's face it this product looks awesome it's a sexy looking product and yes I just said sexy this thing looks downright awesome however that kind of Awesomeness kind of goes away to put simply when you have a tail on the end of it all right guys there you have it this was my review of the Griffin Powermate um overall I think it's a great product but I cannot say this enough whether it's worth it or not it totally depends what you put into it so special thanks again to Griffin for sending this my way if you guys are interested in the Griffin or purchasing it or reading more information about it I will have a link in the sidebar with all kinds of info and everything you can ask for and as usual social me with Twitter Facebook daily Booth all that good stuff and I will see you guys in my next video
