Ram Just Made a Ford Maverick Killer (The New Ram 1200)

The Importance of Not Wasting Money on Cars: A Cautionary Tale

As someone who has known rich people in Houston, I've seen firsthand how they spend lavishly on their cars, sometimes to the tune of $20,000 to $40,000 per year. This excessive spending is often justified by the idea that these cars are worth it, but I'm here to tell you that it's a waste of money. The parts for these high-end vehicles are expensive, and hardly anyone knows how to work on them. Additionally, getting replacement parts can be a challenge in the United States, with long wait times for orders.

When it comes to buying a new car, people often get caught up in the hype of owning something sleek and impressive. However, this comes at a cost. A Maserati, for example, is not worth the investment, despite its supposed "luxury" status. Instead, opting for an affordable and reliable vehicle like a Lexus can provide a better return on investment.

One issue that people often overlook when buying a new car is the wheel size. In this case, someone purchased a 19-inch wheel set for their 2017 Lexus IS-300, only to find out that it didn't fit properly. The seller assured them that it would, but in reality, the wheels were not designed for the vehicle's frame. This can lead to a range of problems, including uneven tire wear and reduced handling capabilities.

To avoid this mistake, it's essential to stick with what you know works well. In this case, going back to 18-inch wheels was the best solution. The engineer who sold the car to the buyer initially assured them that the 19-inch wheels would fit, but now they're regretting their decision. It's crucial to trust the manufacturer's design and not try to modify a vehicle with components that were not intended for it.

Another issue that people often face is misfires in their engine. In this case, someone experienced a cylinder four misfire after replacing the plug and coil pack, but the problem persisted. The first step would be to swap out the fuel injector and test if the misfire follows the same pattern. If not, further diagnosis may be needed, such as a compression test or inspection of the spark plugs.

The idea of high-speed hyperloops has been gaining traction in recent years, with some countries proposing ambitious plans for vacuum tube transportation systems that could connect major cities at speeds of over 600 miles per hour. While this technology sounds like science fiction, it's indeed being taken seriously by engineers and governments. However, a closer look at the numbers reveals the enormous cost involved.

For instance, a recent proposal in Canada estimated that building a hyperloop system between Edmonton and Calgary would cost around $3 billion, with estimates suggesting that it could only accommodate a small number of passengers. When compared to traditional transportation methods like high-speed rail or buses, this option seems woefully inefficient and impractical.

A similar issue arises when considering the proposal for high-speed rail in Texas. Despite promises of reduced travel times between major cities, the reality is that these systems often struggle with capacity issues, making them less appealing than other options. In the case of Houston and Dallas, which have a daily commute population of tens of thousands, traditional highways remain the most efficient solution.

In conclusion, when it comes to cars and transportation, it's essential to approach purchases and investments with a level head. While luxury vehicles may seem enticing at first glance, they often come with hidden costs and unnecessary expenses. By understanding the limitations and potential pitfalls of various transportation options, we can make more informed decisions that won't break the bank or leave us stranded on the side of the road.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrev up your engines ram is going to make a ram 1200 little pickup truck to compete with the maverick because of course the maverick it's the cheapest vehicle that ford makes people seem to be real happy with them good gas mileage now they're talking about making a ram 1200 it's going to be a little bitty pickup truck only it's not going to be like the maverick it's going to be body on frame just like a regular truck the ford maverick show made mexico the unibody and that'd make a lot of sense a lot stronger for poland it's going to last longer than a uniframe won't rust out up north like a unibody one will from what i understand they want to try it in a brazilian market to see how it works so of course they'll have gasoline and a diesel version because other countries use a lot of diesel so hey if they can make a small one body on frame maybe they'll make it in brazil they make a lot of stuff in brazil right the entrance just see if ram actually produces the 1200 to compete with the maverick be funny like the maverick was is made in mexico maybe the ram 1200 be made even further south in brazil biden now says that it's going to be required within five years that all car salt have to get 49 miles a gallon now as we all know government makes rules then they always have exceptions to the rules there's no way they can make big trucks and stuff to get 49 miles a gallon they will have to have such a small section of things that actually get 49 miles an hour take for example suvs they're high up in air these are powerful engines carry a lot of people they weigh a lot they get bad gas mileage you can't make those things get 49 miles a gallon the government getting involved in saying you got america all these cars you got 49 miles a gallon it's patently absurd that they get involved in this stuff all talking points oh we're green we're green baloney this stuff is not easy to do who says people want to buy those vehicles you get in these cars now like the ones that have that cylinder deactivation like chevy they're junk right but they're rated it's better gas mileage but then the engines wear out faster because it doesn't lubricate the engine cylinders that are turned off when they're deactivated when say a v8 is only running on six or four cylinders it's different thermal activity if you got two cylinders one's firing one isn't one's gonna be hot one's gonna be colder the next one maybe it's fire and it's gonna be hotter it's gonna make the engine kind of warp all kinds of problems from that stuff but what do the politicians know about that nothing because they're a bunch of idiots they just they're talking heads we're gonna no you can't really do that stuff and americans don't necessarily want that stuff they just pretend that oh well you know five years we're gonna do this let's see what happens five years from now i can't wait till 2027 to see what's actually going on because they're always saying we're going to get better gas mileage there's only so much you can get for what people want to buy that's just the way that it is people don't want slow little crappy pieces of junk they could make cars in the 60s it got 9 500 miles a gallon but they were so slow nobody could drive in hardware they get killed here's an interesting one tesla's been ordered by the courts to buy back a tesla model 3 from a guy who said that the autopilot was and i quote a drunk novice driver now this is a today a twelve thousand dollar package to add this driving self-driving they call it right which it really isn't and the guy said made his car drive like a drunk novice driver now this is a guy in germany he sued tesla in germany and he won the court said tesla to buy his car back he said traffic lights and stop signs weren't recognized that it took off very sloppily like a drunk novice driver so the court said they got to give them a 76 thousand dollars back but of course tesla hasn't done that yet they're appealing the decision typical you know they lose talk about not good faith no we're appealing decisions we don't agree with it now of course one of the reasons they're appealing it is because tesla soon is planning out rolling out their beta testing autopilot in europe and if they admit it they screwed up boy they're opening up a can of worms but hey at least the german courts saw the right thing and said yes it doesn't work give the man his money back he hasn't gotten his money back yet but at least in principle it's a good idea subaru 2015 says i have gas smell my garage after i drive my car it's a 2020 subaru i smell it in my garage i shut it off and i come back in hell lots of things can do it it could easily be a weak gas cap what the hell buy another gas cap that could fix the whole thing now if it's not there it can be the evap canister isn't working canister vent valve stuck open and it'll vent it out you could have a leak somewhere park it look under make sure it's dry come back see if anything's dripping fix the dripping first but if it isn't and you smell gas it's in the evap system because that's supposed to keep the fumes from coming from the gas tank into the atmosphere and if they aren't coming into the atmosphere and the system isn't working anymore then you will smell gasoline in your car and my advice is since you're smelling it park your car outside until you fix it go take it outside and watch my video you'll be able to find out exactly what it is and since it's the 2020 it should still be under warranty you take it in if you've got a problem with the evap system because evap is anti-pollution equipment and that usually has a five to seven year warranty in the united states they'd have to fix that one for free eddie gold said my speedometer works on and off replace both speed sensors the input and output on my 2009 kia it lasted for a few days then it stopped working again and my scan tool won't show me speed logical that you change the sensors the sensors can go bad right only three things can go bad the sensors you've changed them hopefully used oem and not cheap chinese-made ones if you didn't use oem ones but if you did check the wiring between the sensors and the speedometer either the speedometer is bad itself in a dash or you got a problem inside the transmission realize the sensors pick up on a magnet that magnet fell off then it won't read it anymore but i'm assuming it's not the dash because if say the dash unit was bad when you plugged in a scan tool the scan tool would show the speed you said it didn't so if you ensure you plug in a scan tool and it doesn't show the speed that means it's not getting any speed so either the wiring from the sensor to the speedometer is bad or something's broken inside the transmission could be either nexus 6 says hey scotty i love your show i'm thinking about buying a used maserati a 2015 to bless q4 35 000 miles for 28 grand is it a huge money pit or can i buy look i wouldn't even buy a new monster out here sure wouldn't buy a used one they are endless money pits they're rich men's toys you want to buy a car like that you better be rich and you don't care how much money you throw out i've known rich people in houston and they thought nothing of spending 20 30 40 000 a year having their car maintained and repaired when they're buying cars like that don't waste your money don't waste your money the parts are expensive hardly anybody knows or even wants to work on those things parts are almost impossible to get quickly in the united states you'll be waiting on orders you need a spare car like instead of a life raft on a boat you need a life car to drive around while that thing is being fixed don't waste your money on a maserati they're terrible so gouda says i have upgraded tires and wheels but they rub on my 2017 lexus is-300 what can i do because they're rubbing the 19-inch tires because i was assured it would fit okay well they lied to you they don't fit that is an excellent car for handling for riding for performance 19-inch wheels it wasn't designed it won't handle right it won't ride those things ride like a dream you put bigger wheels gonna ride like crap and they're rubbing now don't start thinking oh jack the car but no go back to 18 inch wheels and i would go back to the guy you bought it from it said they'd fit say screw you put the 18 inch wheels back on forget it they lied to you you do not want to put bigger wheels on it it's stupid those cars are made by engineers who know what they're doing you don't want to change the wheel size you know it's like something a kid will do i want big wheels yeah big wheels are stupid unless they were designed that way engineers spent years designing how much angle what size so they corner right so they ride right you ruin it all by going to a bigger wheel go back go back to the guys said they'd fence they didn't fit put the other wheels on don't do that the guy lied to you too bad make him put them back on and if you sold them to somebody else make them buy you new wheels and put them on it's his problem not yours brewster1973 says i have cylinder four misfire i've replaced the plug plug wire in a coil pack it's still misfires what could it be all right well could be a fuel injector take the number four fuel injector put it on the one put the one on the fourth and this fire moves to one you know it's a bad fuel injector good test if it's not that it could be the head gasket starting to blow on cylinder number four could be a wiring problem could be a computer problem a driver circuit that drives it pray that it's just a fuel injector swap around that fixes it then just buy another fuel injector it's not that hard to do but it's not that you're getting into complex things the next thing i would do would be do a compression test of the engine dry and wet take out the spark plugs have a compression checked if you find that the number four the compression's bad the engine is going to need rebuilding eventually a lot of times they'll still run you just live with it now official the canadians have also lost their minds they're talking about a high speed hyperloop with low pressure inside these fast machines going between edmond and calgary it's 186 miles and they're getting some kind of residual study that's 250 million bucks or something like that right to see the viability of it and they say well in edmonton or somewhere they're going to build a hyperloop from the airport to downtown you know some shorter thing it'll still cost a bunch of money they ask this one engineer that 186 miles between calgary and edmonton if they're gonna build this hyperloop they said it would cost like three billion dollars all right who's going to pay for this stuff what a waste of money you got a little low pressure tube and it can go you know 500 miles an hour 600 whatever you know it's going to break it's not going to work right and it only holds a small amount of people right when i was living in houston for ages they kept saying we're going to build high speed rail between houston and dallas and it's like how many people does the train hold how much money does that cost to build and you realize it's absurd they can only hold a few hundred people and between dallas and houston every day many many thousands of people go back and forth and back and forth it's just a waste of money people living in high-tech science fiction fantasylands but unfortunately now the canadians are getting suckered into it too yeah you're gonna make vacuum tubes shooting people across what a lot of baloney so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that bell you\n"
