Sony 1000XM2 headphone review. Best noise canceling Bluetooth headphones?

**The Sony MDR-1000X M2S Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones Review**

The Sony MDR-1000X M2S wireless noise canceling headphones are a highly regarded pair of audio equipment that offers excellent sound quality and innovative features. The actual gesture controls happen on the right hand air cup, which seems to work quite well. These headphones are physically quite nice looking, making them a stylish addition to any music lover's collection.

The gesture controls are fairly easy to use, with swiping up from volume up allowing users to adjust the sound levels. Swiping down for volume down and changing tracks by swiping forward or backward also seem to work well. Double tapping the headphones pauses a track or answers the phone, while holding them down turns off the wireless noise canceling feature.

**Sound Quality**

When it comes to sound quality, these headphones deliver. They produce very even mid-range, high-end, and bass levels, without overemphasizing any specific part of the sound spectrum. The result is a comfortable listening experience that doesn't fatigue the ears. Additionally, the kind of noise canceling works brilliantly, effectively blocking out background noise on planes and in crowded environments.

However, there are some limitations to these headphones' sound quality. When used on trains or in densely populated areas with multiple Bluetooth devices, some audio skipping issues have been reported. This may be a concern for frequent commuters, but it's not a major issue if you don't rely on them as your primary listening device.

**Noise Canceling**

The noise canceling feature of the Sony MDR-1000X M2S headphones is one of their standout features. When used on an airplane, they effectively block out most background noise, making it easy to focus on music or podcasts. This feature is particularly useful for long-distance flights, where ambient noise can be distracting.

While these headphones excel at noise canceling, there may be some issues in very crowded environments with multiple Bluetooth devices. However, this shouldn't be a major concern for most users.

**Comparison to Other Headphones**

When compared to other high-end wireless headphones, the Sony MDR-1000X M2S headphones hold their own. They don't quite match the sound quality of audiophile-grade headphones like the Sennheiser HD 650s, which offer a more realistic listening experience. However, these headphones excel in other areas, such as comfort and noise canceling.

In comparison to other Bluetooth headphones, the Sony MDR-1000X M2S headphones are among the best in terms of sound quality and features. They may not be the most affordable option, but their high-end features and performance make them well worth the investment.

**Conclusion**

Overall, the Sony MDR-1000X M2S wireless noise canceling headphones offer an excellent listening experience with a range of innovative features. While they may have some minor flaws, such as audio skipping issues in crowded environments and a higher price point than other headphones, their sound quality and performance make them a great choice for music lovers on-the-go.

If you're looking for high-end wireless noise canceling headphones that excel at both comfort and sound quality, the Sony MDR-1000X M2S are definitely worth considering. Just be aware of some potential limitations and consider your budget before making a purchase.

quality enter the Sony 1000x Mark twos now let's get straight into the physical overview of these headphones they come with this semi hard carrying case which is lined with this kind of fabric material on the inside which should keep your headphones safe now the headphones themselves are physically quite big for portable headphones but they fold up fairly small the headphones also come with this two pronged airplane adapter which is nice for watching movies and stuff on the airplane which is pretty much what they're for it's also got this paper insert which kind of shows you want the actual gesture controls are so that you don't forget the headphones also come with a fairly high quality cable but that's kind of expected for this price point and it's got a straight end on the one side and a ninety degree on the other now physically these headphones are unfortunately mostly plastic but this does mean that they are very lightweight and they are still well built these are high quality plastics now it's got this kind of eggshell effect on the outer headphone and on the inside it's just kind of more standard plastics luckily this top band is actually metal and it's got this kind of like pleather headrest which is very comfortable now the ear cups are also pleather but these headphones really are very comfortable although they do get very hot in the summer and I wouldn't recommend using these to exercise with because you will get very sweaty now the right and left ear cups are very clearly marked with most of the physical buttons on the left ear cup it's got a power button and then the noise canceling toggle switch it's also got NFC so that you can very easily pair with your phone now it's got these ambient noise mics on both ear cups and all of the actual gesture controls happen on the right hand air cup and they all seem to work quite well as you can see these headphones are physically quite nice looking now the gesture controls are fairly easy to use you swipe up from volume up and then you can also swipe down for volume down and then to change tracks that you swipe forward to go to the next track and you swipe backwards to go to the previous one you can also double tap the headphones to pause a track or answer the phone and if you hold down on them you actually turn off the wireless noise canceling now all in all these touch controls work fairly well although they don't work when you have the headphones plugged in and sometimes the headphones don't register the actual gestures now let's get to what's really important and that's how good do they sound and in a word great they sound very even the mid-range high-end and bass don't fight each other too much it's not too bass heavy like Beats headphones are and it's not super bright like some Sennheiser headphones tend to be so they're very comfortable to listen to they don't give you much ear fatigue and because of how well the kind of noise canceling works you don't have to push the volumes up very high in order to be able to hear what's going on when you're on a crowded train or anything like that on the note of the noise canceling it works brilliantly if you're on an airplane for example doing a long-distance flight it drowns out most of the background noise in the airplane on trains I do have to say that when there's a huge amount of people around you using Bluetooth devices sometimes there's some kind of interruptions that happen but this is only in Tokyo where there are like millions of people around and I don't think there should be an issue in a less densely populated space and if this is an issue you can just plug it in although you have to bear in mind that the actual kind of gesture controls on the side don't work when they're plugged in which kind of really sucks all in all the sound quality is great they don't compare amazingly to something like the HD 650s from Sennheiser which I kind of you normally use at my desktop those headphones sound significantly more realistic and what I mean by realistic is with the HD 650s it sounds like you're listening to actual musicians playing a song whereas with the 1000x m2s you're more aware of the fact that you're listening to headphones although this is something that no other headphones in the kind of Bluetooth noise canceling cars can do effectively when looking at how they compared to other headphones in this segment I didn't do extensive comparisons against other headphones although when I was buying them in the shop they had Bose ultra quiet twos and I got to play around with them for a little bit and the Bose headphones are very comfortable but their sound signature wasn't as great and they sound like every Bose product ever made if you've had one of them you know exactly what that sound signature is although they are still very nice now in terms of a conclusion what I really like about them is that they have a sound signature that doesn't overemphasize a specific part of the sound spectrum they have really good noise cancellation which works brilliantly and the gesture controls are really nice ad now when it comes to things that I don't like about these headphones is that the Bluetooth implementation isn't flawless so when you're in a very crowded train there is some audio skipping and then for the final negative note and this is something that I haven't really mentioned throughout the video but it's the fact that they cost quite a lot of money they do work very well and I do think that they're worth the money but if you don't commute regularly on trains and stuff like that and you don't fly semi-regularly I wouldn't recommend buying them because I would rather buy like proper audiophile headphones for home listening and then a cheaper pair for the occasional bit of commuting that you do all in all if I have to summarize these headphones in one sentence it's they're great they have some flaws and they are fairly expensive anyway if you liked the
