How To GET BETTER HANDLES In Just 5 Minutes a Day (DO THIS DAILY!!)

**Mastering Ball Handling: A Training Guide**

When it comes to ball handling, having good technique is essential to becoming a skilled player. In this guide, we'll break down the key components of effective ball handling and provide you with a comprehensive training plan to improve your skills.

**Head Position and Awareness**

The first step in mastering ball handling is to develop good head position and awareness. This means keeping your eyes focused on the court ahead, rather than staring at the floor or ceiling. "Keep your head up," advises our instructor. "Don't have your head all the way up like that nobody does that in the real game." Instead, keep a neutral position, with your eyes scanning the court and looking for opportunities to create space and time.

**Rhythm and Timing**

Developing a rhythm and timing is crucial to effective ball handling. This means getting into a consistent flow of movement, where you can smoothly transition between different moves without hesitation. Our instructor emphasizes the importance of finding the ball when making a move, saying "if you ain't losing the ball you're probably not going hard enough." To develop this rhythm, practice dribbling in front of you, focusing on keeping your head up and staying low.

**Handling the Ball**

Now that we've covered head position and awareness, let's dive into the specifics of handling the ball. Our instructor begins with the "just right" move, where the player holds the ball above their knee and moves it from side to side. This is a great starting point for developing hand-eye coordination and timing.

Next, our instructor introduces the concept of using both hands to handle the ball. This means practicing basic moves like crossovers and behind-the-back dribbling, while keeping the ball below the knees. "Try to keep it tight," advises our instructor. "Push through all right."

**Crossovers**

One of the most fundamental moves in ball handling is the crossover. Our instructor breaks down this move into several components, including getting a rhythm going and using both hands to execute the move. Practice crossovers with both your left and right hand, paying attention to keep your arm up and staying low.

**Behind-the-Back Dribbling**

Another challenging move is behind-the-back dribbling. Our instructor begins by demonstrating this move from an upright position, then gradually lowers their head while maintaining control of the ball. "It's easier if the lower you get you know because you can't see the ball now," he says. This exercise requires patience and focus, but with practice, you'll be able to master this move.

**Figure-Eights**

Once you've mastered the basic moves, it's time to work on figure-eights. Our instructor begins by demonstrating a simple figure-eight pattern using more dribbles, then gradually reduces the number of dribbles as you become more comfortable. This exercise requires agility and coordination, but with practice, you'll be able to create complex patterns with ease.

**The Final Challenge**

For our final challenge, we take it up a notch by adding time constraints and increased difficulty levels. Our instructor sets a timer for 30 seconds and challenges us to complete multiple figure-eights while maintaining control of the ball. This exercise requires endurance, focus, and mental toughness – but with practice, you'll be able to overcome even the toughest challenges.

**Conclusion**

Mastering ball handling takes time, patience, and dedication. By following this training guide, you'll develop the skills and confidence needed to take your game to the next level. Remember to stay focused, keep your head up, and never give up on improving your technique. With consistent practice, you'll be well on your way to becoming a skilled ball handler.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's up y'alls coach rock here from revenge basketball in today's video i'm gonna be showing you a simple handles workout that will help you improve your handles in just five minutes every single day now of course if you really want to improve your game you should spend as much time as you can obviously you don't want to spend hours and hours working on your game but the more time you put into your game each week the better you're going to be but at a minimum you should be at least putting in five minutes a day for your handles because handles can you can work on anywhere even if you're not going to the gym that day you can go in your basement you can go outside in the driveway you can go in your garage go to your local park wherever you're at and you can work on your handles and you can do this drill and i guarantee that you will get better handles if you do this this five just do these things for five minutes a day for the next 30 days i guarantee your handles will be much tighter you'll feel much more confident when you have the ball in your hand and you'll be able to be more effective in real games with the ball in your hand so without further ado let's get straight into it so the first thing we're doing is simple pounds with the right hand 30 seconds pound that as hard as you can try to keep it right here at about knee level maybe below your knee 30 seconds you might feel your arm burn it's okay keep pushing you can do it with me if you want keep pushing next left hand pound 30 seconds same thing keep your head up keep the ball try to keep it below your knee you don't have to have your head all the way up like this nobody does that in the real game and just look straight you can look down at times if you need to find the ball it's fine watch real nba players when they play every time they execute a move they look down to find the ball nobody can do moves without looking down to find the ball stay focused all right next we're doing just right in front of you right here again it's okay if you have to look down find the ball it's okay if you mess up if you lose the ball honestly if you ain't losing the ball you're probably not going hard enough get a rhythm going right hand your arm will probably be burning soon your lower leg should be burning but make sure you're in a low position attack position work on your handles push through all right next going straight to your left hand you can put your hand behind your back keep your arm up whatever you want to do i prefer you keep your arm up so you get used to kind of playing like this essentially you're going to need that off hand and real gains but again even with this one we're trying to stay below our knees trying to get that rhythm going keep the handle tight push lower legs my lower legs burning arm getting tired keep pushing next working on crossovers basic move here it's all about rhythm get that rhythm down if you need get that bounce going try to go harder if you need even extend wider practice both because sometimes you cross over and you keep it tight sometimes you're extending like on the iverson cross that's going to stretch your shoulders just try all different types of things because in the game you don't know what you're going to do if you're a good player it's just second nature head up push next behind the back this one's going to be difficult it's easier if the lower you get you know because you can't see the ball now you can't even really look down i guess you could look like that but nobody wants to do that so it's easier if you stay lower because the ball there's not much room for the ball to travel but when you start getting higher like up here it's a little more difficult so stay low try to keep it tight just like you did for the crossover still try to keep it below your knees even though it's behind your back next we have figure eight you can start this start with more dribbles if you need to get the rhythm down and then as you get better let me start with less dribbles i should say and this is the figure 8 movement then as you get better you can add more dribbles you can get lower a lot of different ways you can do this first we're going this direction this will feel pretty natural it's easy to do this one going backwards try to keep it low now the next figure 8 is a little more difficult and is when you're going frontwards it's like difficult this transfer right here is difficult but you're going to do 30 seconds this way again start with more dribbles as you get better you can add less dribbles challenge yourself try to keep it up i almost lost it there keep it up keep it up oh almost lost it again that's how you know you're pushing it's okay if you lose it now the last one really challenging ourselves we're going a minute cross between behind cross between behind cross between behind whole minute we're going to end on a strong note and pushing ourselves again if you mess up it's fine i'm talking i'm trying to dribble a lot going on it's okay stay focused again it's okay if you have to find the ball every now and then try to keep your eyes up but if you have to peek down to find the ball that's fine keep pushing just get the rhythm go at your own speed and push yourself as you get better legs should be burning stay in that low position this will help you when you get in real games you'll get you'll be used to getting in that low position i just messed up the rotation it's fine sometimes you may make a mistake sometimes i might accidentally go two between the legs but you just come back and pick up where you were mistakes are allowed here it's how you get better if you enjoyed today's video do me a big favor hit the thumbs up for me comment
