**LG VP30 At11 Review: A Monitor for Content Creators and Productivity**
If you're going to use this against a flat wall though I probably suggest using the visa mount for an even cleaner look connections wise you'll find USB type-c, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a single display port with all for being hdcp 2.2 certified. This is great for ultra wide 4k content on the PC but certainly UHD Blu-ray from an Xbox One X we're stretched across the screen and the aspect ratio menu option remains grayed out despite my best endeavors making it fairly unusable.
Now speaking of the menu once again we have a system where the buttons around the back which is just so much more difficult to use and it's so frustrating because you'll find that you accidentally change inputs or you turn the monitor off when if they put their buttons on the front or underneath with a four-way selector it would have been so much easier to navigate. Yes, it's by no means a deal-breaker but it is something that will definitely annoy you rather than just moan about the button placement.
**Image Quality**
Boy do we have a winner with an IPS panel sporting a resolution of 3840 x 1600 on a curved 38-inch screen. You get not only an incredible amount of real estate but a mighty fine level of detail it doesn't matter what you bring up on screen it always looks colorful, contrasty and sharp. Work in a creative application and you'll get loads of space for the UI and your image or simply bring up some ultra-wide content and be prepared to be blown away.
We all know that I love PC gaming too and on paper this isn't really a gaming display with a panel response time around seven milliseconds and a solid degree of noticeable input lag but for more casual titles like Civilization 6, it's simply top draw with fully immersive wraparound images that look stunning. Unlike the LG Uc99 though there isn't any freesync support and the panel is capped at 60 Hertz so if you're an AMD gamer that's probably where I'd recommend you go but if you're serious about your games and you play fast-paced titles, you are much better off looking at something like the Asus PG 3 for aq.
**Color Accuracy**
But make no mistake this is very much a monitor that's aimed at content creators and as such it's a very color accurate display. It's actually the same panel that's used in the Uc99 and like the LG it comes calibrated at the box for accuracy over 100% of the sRGB color space is covered so if you're working with color critical applications, you're likely to be very pleased indeed. I've been using this for color grading and have been very happy with the results, it really is a cracking monitor for productivity and for my workflow, it's been pretty perfect.
**HDR Support**
Unfortunately though once again this isn't really an HDR monitor at all as while it does indeed accept and can display an HDR 10 signal, it lacks any form of zone dimming. It can't get brighter than 300 nits and it doesn't have true 10-bit color therefore you're not actually gonna get any real benefit from it but it's not just viewsonic that are doing this so if you're buying an HDR monitor please be very careful all in all though I have to say that I have been very pleased with the display, it's been a pleasure to use and if you're in the market for something that's got an absolutely huge amount of screen real estate and fantastic image quality then you will really like this.
**Comparison to LG Uc99**
It's little cheaper than LG's ultra-wide HDR monitor at the time of filming and its ergonomic stand could prove very useful if you're choosing between these two then the price may well be the most important factor but when the HDR features aren't particularly great on either model it's probably worth looking at the LG Uc99 instead. You'll get more or less identical image quality but for a couple of hundred pounds less.
**Final Thoughts**
The VP30 At11 is a fantastic display but it's quite tough to justify its extra cost if you are interested in checking out current pricing then I'll leave all the links down below for you let me know what you thought of this monitor boat in the comments. Is this form factor something that you would go for, it's still personally my favorite so we could get a gaming display out of this resolution but higher refresh rate in this size it'd be fantastic but that's going off on a tangent as we love to do on this channel.
But yeah subscribe for more videos just like this check out all the other monitor reviews there are loads of them if you're interested in picking a new one up. But yeah like the video if you liked it subscribe all of that stuff have a good afternoon, morning evening whatever you're doing and I'll see you next time
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enultra wide monitors are great and I've been using them for years but surprisingly there aren't many 38-inch models out there so when viewsonic got in touch about their vp 381 HDR monitor well i jumped at the chance if you can't already tell this thing is huge and if you've never used a large ultra wide like this before then chances are you will probably be a little overwhelmed at first design-wise I have to say it's a fairly good looking bit of kit maybe not quite as attractive as some of his LG competition but it's very clean and the bezels are fairly similar in nature it maybe just looks perhaps a bit more industrial this is mostly in part due to its stand which is differently oversized but it is very sturdy and unlike the LG you c99 it allows for height adjust tilt and swivel rather than just the height adjust on the LG if you're going to use this against a flat wall though I probably suggest using the visa mount for an even cleaner look connections
