The Advantages of Snapdragon 660 Processor: A Breakthrough in Mid-Range Smartphone Technology
Many manufacturers have been flocking to the Snapdragon 625 instead of the Snapdragon 650, but the new Snapdragon 660 processor is an exciting development in mid-range smartphone technology. The first improvement that the Snapdragon 660 brings is its power-efficient design based on the 14 nanometer process with SenseFast technology. This means that the processor is extremely efficient and can handle demanding tasks without overheating.
The Snapdragon 660 also features a new Qualcomm A53X architecture, which provides an octa-core processor that should be very efficient. Additionally, the GPU has been upgraded to the Adreno 512 GPU, which offers up to 30% improvement in GPU performance compared to its predecessors. This is significant because it will provide smoother and more seamless graphics experiences for users.
Another interesting feature of the Snapdragon 660 is its support for QuickCharge version 4, which was previously only found on higher-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8. This means that users can expect faster charging times and a more convenient charging experience. Furthermore, the processor also supports Bluetooth 5, allowing users to pair up to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
The Snapdragon 660 also features a Group X12 LTE modem, which provides faster Wi-Fi speeds and better radio performance. According to Qualcomm, this means that users can expect power efficiency up to 50%, making it an attractive option for countries with high energy costs such as India. Additionally, the processor supports display resolutions up to Quad HD, making it suitable for devices with high-resolution displays.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Snapdragon 660 supports dual camera setups with a maximum resolution of 16 megapixels, making it possible for vendors to offer higher-quality cameras on their mid-range devices. The processor also features improved thermal management, which should help reduce overheating issues common in lower-end processors.
The Snapdragon 616, another chipset from Qualcomm, is based on the 40 nanometer architecture and is expected to have a similar level of performance to the Snapdragon 660. However, since it's based on an older architecture, users may experience some heat issues, unlike with the Snapdragon 660.
In comparison, the Snapdragon 630 is not as exciting as the Snapdragon 616, but it still brings over improvements from its predecessors. The processor features a new X12 modem, which provides faster Wi-Fi speeds and better radio performance. The GPU has also been upgraded to the Adreno 508 GPU, which offers significant improvements in GPU performance compared to its predecessors.
One of the main differences between the Snapdragon 630 and the Snapdragon 660 is the display capabilities. While both processors support up to 1080p displays, the Snapdragon 660 provides a slight edge with its improved display capabilities. Additionally, the processor features Bluetooth 5 and QuickCharge version 4 support, making it an attractive option for users looking for convenient charging experiences.
Overall, the Snapdragon 660 processor is an exciting development in mid-range smartphone technology. Its power-efficient design, improved GPU performance, and convenient charging capabilities make it an attractive option for vendors looking to offer high-performance devices at affordable prices. With its clear advantages over its predecessors, the Snapdragon 660 is likely to be a popular choice among manufacturers and users alike.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video I'm going to talk about the snapdragon 616 and 630 processor SOC stat were just announced by Qualcomm and yet in hearing about the Snapdragon 664 almost six months and finally Qualcomm has released this one and before I talk about the 660 and the 630 let's talk about this 616 and what are the processes that is going to replace and why the 660 salford replacement for the snapdragon 650 - and the 653 if you go back to the 650 - those the 650 - also was a quadcopter core processor that means it has eight cores divided - quad core 2 quad cores but the problem with this 650 - was that it was based on the 28 nanometer architecture and that was not very efficient and especially in India it's a very hot country that we have here though many of the phones are tested with the Snapdragon 650 - when they were sort of stress they were heating for example just yesterday I also review their sorry from that had the stamp - 650 - and when you start to push it it tends to heat up the 653 was also the launch but this was also not very popular we saw very few phones for the 653 the 653 uses the 20 nanometer architecture it's slight improvement over the 650 - but again it was not very popular because manufacturers had the 625 that was based on the 14 nanometer architecture and process sorry and that was very popular if you have the past six ones we have seen tons and tons of phones launching on the 625 because I have to say it was the most efficient processor that Qualcomm had produced till date that's the reason many manufacturers flock to the 625 instead of the 650 - and this 653 now let's talk about this snapdragon 660 and what it brings to the table and the first improvement is that now the stamp raggin 660 is also based on the 14 nanometer process with sense fact technology that means it's an extremely power efficient processor and moving to the rock of processor core it has the new Qualcomm of 260 architects it's based on that and it's also a octa-core processor that means it should be actually very efficient now also moving to the GPU now it has a new GPU that is the Adreno 5 4 12 G to the 652 and the 653 have the audrina 510 GPA and according to Qualcomm they said that you can see up to 30% improvement in the GPU performance with the evade of 512 GPU now moving to another interesting thing is that the stamp on 660 and even the Snapdragon 630 actually support quick charging version 4 which was found on the Snapdragon 835 so it supports the new Qualcomm quick charging foot and also it has support for Bluetooth 5 that means you can actually pair up to 2 Bluetooth devices simultaneously we saw this first only with the Snapdragon 835 for example the Samsung Galaxy s8 has that feature now we are going to get these features in this mid range of chipsets so that's an interesting thing also moving to the modems it has a group X 12 LTE modem so the Wi-Fi speed and the radius week should be faster also in terms of power efficiency as it's now on the 14 nanometer process welcome says you can expect power efficiency up to 50% so that's an interesting thing and that is particularly important in a country like India so I'm hoping that these snapdragon 616 chipsets as they are based on 40 nanometer architecture they should not heat up like the Snapdragon 650 - then we are pushing it and it also has supports for doing camera setups up to 16 megapixels so you some vendors can actually put in to a dual camera setups Aries can have a 16 megapixel sensor so that's also an improvement and regarding the displace the snapdragon 616 will support this space up to quad HD so again I feel a the snapdragon 660 would be one of the most interesting mid-range premium chipset that we can get high and I'd simply can't wait to see new devices coming out with the same and according to Qualcomm they have already started shipping this processor to vendors and we should see devices by end of or July let's start dragon 660 processors now going to the Snapdragon 650 this is not as exciting as the snapdragon 616 it brings over the Snapdragon 625 and 626 still the 630 is based on the footy nanometer architecture and this is still an octa-core processor based on the arm cortex 853 but where it improves is again this one also has the new x12 modem hence the Wi-Fi speeds and the radio should be more optimized and also moving to the GPU now we have a new GPU on the Snapdragon 630 we have the arena of 508 GPU if you recall the Snapdragon 625 and the 626 had the adrene of 562 and again according to Qualcomm these are almost about 30% faster and GPU performance compared to the older variants now a good thing is that even the Snapdragon 630 we'll get the new Bluetooth 5 and Qualcomm quick charging for support and moving to the camera again this one also supports dual camera setup and vendors can put dual campus up to 13 megapixel on the same and moving to the displays they haven't bumped up the display specific tation the 625 and 626 also supported a max of 1080p display and even the Snapdragon 630 supports a max of 1080p displays so these were the things that were there for the snapdragon 616 and the 630 SOC I'm actually very excited to see what vendors will bring out with the snapdragon 616 because the 660 is going to have the clear a cry of 260 based on that architecture octa-core that's a very powerful chipset and I feel using the snapdragon 660 the performance level should be really good but again as of now I don't see only I would say slightly or what you say premium mid-range phones might offer the Snapdragon 660 so again I'm looking forward to testing your devices that will be coming out with the snapdragon 616 again that's it for now for this video if you found this video helpful and if you're not subscribed to my youtube channel at that subscribe button and if you found this video helpful I'll appreciate if you can attack this like that thanks for watching this advantage that I hope to see you in my next videohi there this is Ranjit and in this video I'm going to talk about the snapdragon 616 and 630 processor SOC stat were just announced by Qualcomm and yet in hearing about the Snapdragon 664 almost six months and finally Qualcomm has released this one and before I talk about the 660 and the 630 let's talk about this 616 and what are the processes that is going to replace and why the 660 salford replacement for the snapdragon 650 -
