New Nvidia Shield TV Pro Now Available for Pre-Order on Amazon
As we continue to explore the latest advancements in streaming devices, a new addition has made its way onto the market. The Nvidia Shield TV Pro is now available for pre-order on Amazon, with an anticipated release date of October 30th. This updated model boasts the all-new Tegra x1 plus processor, which claims to be 25% faster than the old Tegra x1 that was featured in previous models such as those from 2015 and 2018.
The Nvidia Shield TV Pro comes equipped with 3 gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of storage, providing users with ample space for their favorite shows, movies, and games. The device is priced at $1.99, making it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their streaming experience without breaking the bank.
One of the standout features of this new device is its support for Dolby Vision and Atmos HD to 4k with AI upscaling. This means that users can expect a superior viewing experience, with crisp visuals and enhanced audio quality. Additionally, the Nvidia Shield TV Pro comes with two USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 5.0, AC Wi-Fi, and Ethernet connectivity on the back.
While the new remote control does have some drawbacks, such as its lackluster design, it does offer a few convenient features that make it worth considering. The remote connects over Bluetooth, using triple-A batteries instead of the rechargeable battery used in previous models. This means that users no longer have to worry about dead batteries or the frustration of trying to find a replacement.
Perhaps one of the most significant benefits of this new remote control is its "lost remote locator" feature. As anyone with young children can attest, remotes often go missing due to their small size and tendency to get misplaced. The lost remote locator is a game-changer for parents like myself who have struggled with this issue in the past. It's clear that Nvidia has put thought into this aspect of the device, recognizing that it's an area where users can benefit from some improvement.
In terms of performance, the new Tegra x1 plus processor promises to deliver significant upgrades over previous models. While 25% faster might not seem like a lot, we've already seen the original Nvidia Shield TV and the 2018 model offer impressive performance in emulation. With this updated device, Nvidia is confident that it's put itself right at the top of the competition.
