488 Check Engine Light Explained

**The Ferrari Ownership Experience**

I took six months to get my hands on this car, but if Joe Schmoe walks in off the street, it's more like two plus years before they'll actually take delivery. Even with an order placed, the wait can be a lengthy two years or more, depending on various factors such as Ferrari's approval process.

As I was getting familiar with my new ride, I decided to add a clear bra to the front nose. This is something I've done in the past and don't mind doing again - it's easier than dealing with rock chips that can devalue the car over time. I've learned to just repaint them and keep them as a memento. If I were to sell this car, I wouldn't want any potential buyers to be deterred by something like a broken brake in process.

I was asked about the break-in process of my new Ferrari, with some folks wondering why it seemed so easy to get going after just 47 miles on the clock. The truth is, I received no instructions or guidance from the dealer regarding this matter. In fact, I believe older cars require a more extensive break-in period - one that's not necessary for this particular model.

This Ferrari is ready to go right out of the box, which is music to my ears. Unlike some other cars that may require extensive modification before they're truly enjoyable, I can rock it out and enjoy it from day one. And as for the trunk space, it's more than sufficient - plenty of room for all my essentials.

One quirk I've discovered so far is that the trunk won't close properly if you try to lock your key inside. It's a clever design feature, but also a bit frustrating when you realize what's going on. Fortunately, it's an easy fix - just a matter of popping the trunk open and closing it again.

As for mods, I'm not planning on doing much of anything to this car. The engine does rip pretty hard when tuned up, but I'm happy with the way it sounds stock. And while there is no bumper-to-bumper warranty, Ferrari does offer some peace of mind - after all, these cars are built to last.

My shirt pocket has become a bit of a conversation starter, thanks to a comment from someone who noticed it was designed that way. Apparently, I'd ordered a custom-made "fashion store" shirt, which featured a rather unusual design. The story went like this: I got the shirt from a company called Fashion Stork, and they sent me a picture of it before it arrived - supposedly, they'd made sure to get my size just right. Of course, when the shirt arrived, it was a bit too big for me.

The final question on everyone's mind is why I opted for this Ferrari over a Huracan. The truth is, I've had experience with Ferraris in the past - and while they're certainly beautiful, I'd rather not deal with the complexities of a mechanical convertible top. The Huracan, on the other hand, has been a rental car at times - which was nice, but also made me realize that these cars don't hold their value as well as others. In contrast, Ferraris like this one tend to appreciate in value over time, making them a more sound investment choice for those who are serious about owning a high-performance vehicle.

In any case, I'm happy with my decision - and I think you should be too. If you're in the market for a Ferrari, take heart: it's worth the wait. And if you're already a Ferrari owner, then you know what you mean. It's just one of those special cars that makes all the difference.

the some of the questions I'll just leave it at that the first being people brought up the fact that the car has a check engine light you did see a check engine light that is completely normal it's almost like a computer booting up when you have like the windows thing going across the screen when you start a Ferrari the check engine light is on while it scans the system and if it doesn't find any faults it goes away usually anywhere between three and five seconds to do so so there's no actual check engine light I'll go do that now and show you so that was the check engine light happens every time perfectly normal is it the rental car or mine I actually have I'm surprised so many people ask this question it's actually in the description it's my personal car it is not a rental car you cannot rent it we have a black 48 Spyder available for rent if you'd like to do so in California so just let us know will rent you that one but this one is mine there are several other like it but this is mine um that's a silly question how did I get it in six months if there's a two year wait well they there's a reason there's a two-year wait on the car is because there's more people that want to buy it than people that the orders get processed through a dealer selects okay these guys or the sky or this guy they take it they put the order in submit it to Ferrari for our reviews it approves the order car goes into production they send you pictures along the way they produce the car and deliver the car at the dealership they put me in because I bought numerous other cars from them in the past two years my 360 coupe 360 spider 430 spider so having all those cars it essentially means I'm a more active customer and though if I'm a better customer I don't even get get into the the rationale behind it however they put my in my order in a while ago once the order was accepted took six months I got the car if Joe Schmoe walks in off the street it's two plus years that they're gonna have to wait they can they'll take the order but by the time that Ferrari will actually accept that guy is about two years give or take video about Ferrari approval process well that was sort of it are you going to wrap it I'm probably going to do a clear bra on the front nose just because I don't want to devalue it by getting rock chips like my other cars I don't really mind getting rock chips honks I just repaint them and I keep them forever this one if I ever want to sell it I don't want it to be like woo is can't work on the front brake in process so some people are commenting the fact that was revving it up and they were asking about the break-in process the first 47 miles I got the car with 47 miles it's assumed like 40 miles and then dealer when gas is up and what not but they test the car at the racetrack at the factory so if they're lapping a racetrack in the car I can't imagine there's a very big there's a very big process of breaking in I don't think I got anything from the dealer to do this for the first 500 mile I think that's more the older cars I think these cars which is good to go when you get them so you go rock him out and enjoy him and it would be funny because it'd be like some 20 year old Ferraris that are still like going through the break-in process was a 6:40 as good investment as I thought now I had to cut the 640 loose sooner than I thought so I actually did not make money on that one you win some you lose some but this thing was worth it to me how much trunk space trunk space enough you can get a body in there and you know it's cool take kkc key me what it doesn't let you lock your key in the trunk it like literally pops open did you know that now you do now I can close it and I learned that because I put the spare key in the trunk and when I put the spare key in the trunk is when I found out like why is this thing not closing is it broken like no no you can't have a key in the trunk otherwise it will not close planning any mods no I'm not planning any mods although these things rip pretty hard when you do a tune to it but I'm not going to do that how much trunk space what exhaust stock exhaust yes it does a bumper-to-bumper warranty why is your shirt pocket sideways ah funny thing about that shirt pocket that shirt pocket wasn't even a pocket it was just a zipper they didn't even go anywhere I got that some guy commented on my wardrobe at some point I'm like dude you should do fashion store I'm like it's a fashion store I'm like that 60 bucks a month $70 a month so I did fashion stork and that was one of the shirts that I got and of course I get these fitted shirts like oh here's a perfectly well design head picture just for you prefer ready and I got people come I think my shirts too big I can't win I give up f off everybody like I'm going to just wear big baggy to give the shit's for the rest of my life and you're going to have to deal with that why get the spider why get the spider is an excellent question because I like convertibles I enjoy them it not every cars to be a race car I've got more than enough coupes this is only my second convertible my other convertible is the one I just sold to get this although these cars are leaning a little bit more towards the t-top than the convertible but that's just the way they're working it's easier the top I take a I would take this set up versus a clunky mechanical convertible top that's more likely to break over time I rather take something that just flops on flops down easy this one you can operate up to 28 miles an hour why did I get this over a Huracan because the Huracan we have as a rental car I like them I didn't see the need to go out and get them this is a better market you can buy these cars they're more in demand so the value stays where it is for longer the Huracan is more likely to depreciate from 300,000 to 225,000 something like that and that's an expensive proposition for this guy so guys thank you for watching hope I answered some of your questions or all of your questions or like most of the actual intelligent or reasonable questions I answered them and if you have any more we'll do another one of these soon take
