The Maze Alpha is AMAZING!

**The Maze Alpha: A Powerhouse Budget Smartphone**

The Maze Alpha is a smartphone that has been making waves in the tech world, and for good reason. Its impressive specs and features make it one of the most powerful budget smartphones on the market.

**Weight and Design**

One of the first things you notice about the Maze Alpha is its weight. It's very heavy, but not excessively so. The phone feels substantial in your hand, and the weight is distributed fairly evenly across its large surface area. This means that you don't feel the weight as much as you would with a smaller phone. However, the sheer heft of the phone does make it uncomfortable to use one-handed for extended periods.

The corner of the phone is slightly sharper than other phones with similar designs, which can take some getting used to. After a few minutes of use, however, you get over it. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of the finish on the phone - it's incredibly glossy, which looks great when it's clean but quickly becomes dirty and frustrating to maintain.

**Camera**

One of the most interesting features of the Maze Alpha is its camera system. It combines a dual camera setup, with one sensor being 5 megapixels and the other being 13 megapixels. In practice, this means that the phone produces very detailed photos with a great amount of bokeh (background blur). The shutter time is fast, colors are vibrant, and the phone even works well in low lighting conditions.

However, what's interesting about the camera is its use of "vocab" mode. This allows the phone to produce stunning quality photos even if the shutter time is a bit slower. However, the way the phone goes about producing bokeh is completely off - it produces a small circle in the center that is essentially in focus, and everything else is out of focus.

While this has the potential to look great when framed correctly, for the most part it looks super weird. The front camera is surprisingly good, with high-quality photos and good lighting.

**Display**

The Maze Alpha's display is a major highlight of the phone. It's a 6-inch 1080p IPS screen that's very bright and completely viewable in outdoor conditions. However, the contrast isn't quite as good as some other Super AMOLED panels I've seen - but the colors are extremely vibrant, which makes almost any media look great.

In almost all cases, whether it's gaming, browsing, or watching videos, I never found the resolution limiting. The only thing worth noting is that there is a slight "sharp" effect on the display, which makes things look a little bit more artificial than they might in real life.

**Battery Life**

The Maze Alpha has a battery capacity of 4000 milliamp hours, which is considered very high for a phone. However, the actual end battery life is only slightly above average - you'll get around a day and a half of normal usage out of it, which is fair enough but not exceptional.

**Performance**

In terms of performance, the Maze Alpha feels like a powerhouse. The Gorilla Glass 4 screen is good but not great, as I found when I managed to scratch it lightly with a knife - it would have been better if the phone had Gorilla Glass 5 instead.

The phone's processor is the GOP 25 chipset, which was mid-range in 2017 but feels more than capable even now. The RAM and storage are generous at 4GB and 64GB respectively, making it feel very fast and responsive.

**Benchmarks**

In terms of benchmarks, we get around 61,000 points on the Geekbench test, which is a halfway house between what you'd expect from more powerful phones. This means that you can play any game you want to without issue - but there are some compatibility issues with certain demanding games.

Overall, the Maze Alpha has been one of the biggest surprises in terms of performance and value for money. It's a powerhouse of a phone with an impressive display, great camera, and responsive performance. However, it does have some shortcomings, including poor speakers and a not-so-glossy finish. Despite this, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful budget smartphone.

**Conclusion**

The Maze Alpha is a must-see for anyone in the market for a new smartphone. With its impressive specs and features, it's one of the most powerful budget smartphones on the market. While it has some drawbacks, such as poor speakers and a not-so-glossy finish, these are largely outweighed by its many strengths.

Whether you're looking to upgrade from an older phone or simply want a powerful device for gaming or everyday use, the Maze Alpha is definitely worth considering. Its combination of performance, display quality, and camera capabilities make it one of the most impressive budget smartphones I've ever seen - and at this price point, it's an absolute steal.

**Final Thoughts**

I'm really impressed with the Maze Alpha, and I think it's a great example of what you can get for your money in the mid-range market. While it has some minor drawbacks, these are largely outweighed by its many strengths.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Maze Alpha to anyone looking for a powerful budget smartphone. It's an absolute powerhouse of performance and value, with an impressive display, great camera, and responsive performance.

**Rating**

I'd give the Maze Alpha a solid 8 out of 10. While it has some minor drawbacks, these are largely outweighed by its many strengths - making it one of the most impressive budget smartphones on the market.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso guys this is the maze alpha and is a supremely massively interesting phone primarily because nobody's heard of the company so this company just appeared on social media started teasing this incredible device and later down the line announced it would cost less than $200 so you can imagine we pretty excited about it and without any further ado let's unbox it and see how it stacks up so the ball first impressions extremely heavy and in terms of the finish it's fairly nice I mean it's not the best I've seen we've seen textured finishes between matte finishes I like the lettering on the front and the back tells us all the specifications and this is a 6 inch bezel this display bear in mind which is completely amazing the internal packaging for some reason is a little bit nicer than the external and then we have the smartphone itself so we'll take a look at that in a second and two days that is a really really heavy phone okay I'm kind of concerned I'm really happy okay we'll get on something in just a moment let's take a look we've got inside the box so first up we have a this is a sort of little package got a nice matte finish you can see we've got the sim ejector tool which is a pretty standard one on this device nothing too fancy going on there and inside we have two tempered glass screen protectors I'm speechless a company has finally answered my call I've been going on and on about including these in the packages of smartphones rather than those super nasty plastic ones a lot of them do this makes so much sense so we have a couple of instruction manuals again nothing too fancy but nonetheless feeling quite complete so we've got a mains adapter which is again rather chunky and we have a USB type-c cable over here and ok there's nothing else in the package which means the weight is probably stemming primarily from the smartphone so yeah this is a very heavy phone it weighs over 200 grams and you can really tell and to be honest when I first saw the design if I caching it's nice but the first thing that sprung to mind was this smartphone over here this is the digi mix it's priced competitively with this smartphone and you can clearly tell they're both borrowing the ideas from exactly the same Bank so they also in terms of the front have exactly the same layout we've both got the same and scanners on the front of the phones not the back like we've seen with other bezels devices they both also have completely identically placed front cameras which is very cute and all in all this basically looks like a slightly larger version of this but internally as where the differences start to occur so let's get right onto that so I've been using the phone for a few days now and these aren't the most important things you need to know about it to start with about the weight yes this is a very very heavy smartphone but at the same time the fact that that weight is distributed fairly evenly across the large surface area means you don't feel it as much it is a fairly comfortable phone to hold but its sheer heft means that you are restricted to using it exclusively with two hands now the corner is slightly sharper than we've seen on other phones with a similar design which you notice to begin with but after a bet you get over it unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of the finish on the phone it is incredibly glossy which looks great when it's cleaned but trust me after 10 minutes of using it it will not look clean now the camera on the maze alpha is very interesting it combines a dual camera setup here but one detailed they have a great amount of Boquete the shutter time is fast colors are vibrant and it even worked well in low lighting conditions now what I found that was interesting was that as with all dual camera smartphones this does have a special vocab and it's got the ability to produce stunning quality photos even if the shutter time is a bit slower by this method however the way the phone goes about doing bokeh is completely off you have a small circle in the center which is essentially in focus and everything else is out of focus so whilst this has the potential to look good when framed correctly for the most part it looks super weird now the front camera is surprisingly good I really like the quality and the light in the shots but avoiding this position means that half the time you'll be taking photos like this to begin with so the front of the phone is dominated by a six inch 1080p IPS display and it's very bright completely viewable in outdoor conditions the contrast isn't quite where a Super AMOLED panel might be that the colors are extremely vibrant and for the most part this makes almost any media look good and in almost all cases whether it's gaming browsing of the phone which we have right in front of you it has four gigs of RAM 64 gigs of storage and the GOP 25 chipset and whilst in mid 2017 that is considered a fairly mid-range spec when you're using is a halfway house having said that in terms of real-life usage and what that number really means for performance it means you can essentially play any game you want to the chip does have a couple of compatibility issues but just about any demanding game you want to play this will run fine it's a bit of a shame about the speakers they're not particularly loud and they also don't have very good instrumental separation at all but to be honest guys Damis alpha as a smart phone on a prospect in general has been one of the biggest surprises to land with me it's a bit of an all run powerhouse sporting an impressive display fantastic camera and a responsive level of performance it's backed up by great battery life tons of storage as well as European 4G LTE connectivity unfortunately none
