Comparing the New iPhone 10S to its Android Equivalent: A Side-by-Side Review

In this article, we'll be comparing the new iPhone 10S with an Android equivalent device. The iPhone 10S is a dual SIM capable device that offers advanced features such as gigabit LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 Wi-Fi, and NFC for Apple Pay. We've put it side-by-side with its Android counterpart to see how they compare in terms of performance, camera quality, and overall user experience.

One of the standout features of the iPhone 10S is its improved signal strength compared to older iPhones. This is due to its advanced antenna design, which allows for better reception and faster data speeds. In our tests, we found that the iPhone 10S consistently outperformed its Android counterpart in terms of signal strength and overall performance.

Another feature that sets the iPhone 10S apart from its competition is its Portrait mode camera capabilities. The device's advanced bokeh effect creates a beautiful blur effect around subjects, making for stunning portraits. However, this feature is only available on the iPhone 10S, and not on the Android equivalent device.

The iPhone 10S also features an advanced Face ID system that allows users to unlock their device with just one glance. The camera uses facial recognition technology to identify the user's face and authenticate their identity. This means that users don't need to enter a password or PIN to access their device, making it faster and more convenient than traditional fingerprint recognition.

For those who may be new to iPhones, we'll provide a quick rundown of the UI and its features. The iPhone 10S uses gestures instead of a home button, which can take some getting used to for those who are familiar with traditional iOS interfaces. To unlock the device, users can tap the power button on the right or simply raise it while looking at it. To access the home screen, users can swipe up from the bottom. Once on the home screen, users can swipe left or right to switch between apps, and can also tap and hold on an app icon to get quick actions.

One of the features that sets the iPhone 10S apart from its Android counterpart is its widgets feature. Users can add various widgets to their home screen, which provide information such as weather forecasts, news headlines, and social media updates. The widgets are customizable, allowing users to choose the data they want to display on their home screen.

In terms of software, the iPhone 10S runs iOS 12, which is available on a wide range of devices. While some features may be exclusive to this device, such as the advanced bokeh effect in Portrait mode, many other features are also available on other iOS devices. However, we'll provide a more in-depth look at the software features and their limitations in future articles.

To conclude, our comparison of the iPhone 10S with its Android equivalent highlights the device's strengths and weaknesses. While it offers advanced features such as gigabit LTE connectivity and a powerful camera system, some users may find that it doesn't offer anything new or innovative compared to previous models. Nevertheless, we believe that the iPhone 10S is an excellent choice for those who value ease of use, advanced security features, and a seamless user experience.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enapple just released new iPhones and I think it's safe to say that the whole button is gone away maybe they both rest in peace regardless I'm managing my hands on a 10 s Max and a 10 s and figured as is the usual here on this channel I would try to do a complete walkthrough for you guys now if you're not familiar a complete walkthrough on this channels right right go through every single feature I even do some tests etc so that you guys are better prepared should you mean the market to actually go buy the device know that said there's a lot to go through the iPhone 10's complete walkthrough this one and the iPhone 10's max walk through that is going to release shortly are probably the two most comprehensive walk throughs I've ever done I tested everything so I hope you guys appreciate that when you watch the rest of this video but regardless there's a lot so let's get started not really quick a quick shout out to declutter for sponsoring if you like to get one of the new iPhones like the 10s or the 10s max but want to get some money for your current iPhone or any other electronics that you might have but no longer need you honestly should check out declutter you send them your stuff they sell it for you and give you cash up to thirty three percent more than selling it back to your carrier by the way no need to do with auction sites or meeting people at coffee shops to sell your stuff simple easy and you get the cash quick so that you can go get that new device ASAP if you use code on Locker ten you can get an extra 10% cash for your item you can check it out at the link in the description now first up all of the phones from the 10s to the tennis Max and the 10r that's coming out later now sport the same look overall as the ten from last year complete with a notch for the facial recognition sensors and endo in screen its central according to Apple though the scratch resistant glass on the front and back of the 10s and the 10s Max is the quote strongest ever on a smartphone which by the way I can personally attest to as the first day I got the 10 s max very upset but I put it on a bar table and then 10 minutes later I heard a hit to my surprise though I picked up the max and the only damage was a little bit of paint missing from two of the corners I was annoyed that it slid off the table it is a slippery device just like the 10 but also sort of impressed and since both the tennis and the tennis max are made out of the same materials I'd say that they're both gonna handle similarly the 10s comes in silver space grey and gold with the gold being the color that I have here and the new color for this year the 10s comes in 64 gigs 256 gigs and 512 gigs of storage with no expandable memory as usual and there's no getting around it it's basically identical and designed to the 10 in fact one of the reasons I got the gold and might suggesting you the same but that's up to you is that it's the only way to distinguish the 10s from the 10 when you're just glancing at them every dimension otherwise is the same save for the weight which is only 3 grams heavier which means that you probably can't tell when holding them both at the same time we have the same 7 megapixel F 2.2 front-facing camera that we have on the iPhone 10 the screen beneath is a similar amled five point eight inch 1125 by 24 36 19 point 5 by 9 aspect ratio display cable playing HDR 10 content bought Apple claims that the 10s display can display 60% greater dynamic range than the iPhone 10 here they are side by side but it's hard to tell on a camera we sell the same wide color gamut which shows more ranges of colors a true tone display which uses the ambient light in the room to adjust the screen to be more color accurate 3d touch and our fingerprint resistant screen the facial recognition features are supposedly faster now also thanks to faster software in that faster chip here they are side by side I can say that it is technically faster the iPhone 10s is now IP 68 instead of 67 certified so that means that 2 meters underwater for 30 minutes versus the 1 meter before sound wise we have dual stereo speakers like the iPhone 10 but according to Apple they have quote wider stereo sound thanks to more powerful speakers and so of course I tested that and here we have the iPhone 10 and here we have the iPhone 10s now inside device we have the new a 12 Bionic compared to the a 11 Bionic chip it's the industry's first seven nanometer chip with a six core CPU to performance cores and four high energy efficiency cores a four core GPU which is supposedly 50% faster than the a 11 GPU and an 8 core neural processor dedicated to machine learning the a12 can apparently process five trillion operations a second compared to the 600 billion of the a11 and here we have benchmarks from Geekbench from the iPhone 10 and the iPhone 10's for the camera we have a dual 12 megapixel camera setup similar to the iPhone ten with one being a wide-angle and one being a 2 x telephoto the difference is that they managed to put in a slightly larger sensor behind the lenses with slightly larger pixels the iPhone 10's has a 1 by 2 point 5 5 inch sensor instead of the smaller 1 by 3 inch sensor of the iPhone 10 and we have 1.4 micron pixels versus the 1.2 2 micron pixels of the iPhone 10 both cameras are optically stabilized still just like the iPhone 10 thankfully the true tone flash has been approved for better color reproduction apparently and Apple says that this and the iPhone 10's Macs are the first iPhones to use the neural engineering Conn junction with the isp which is the image signal processor to do facial mapping and automatically perform redeye reduction since they can see where the eyes are as well as better segmentation of hair and foreground versus background portraits etc this combination also allows for what Apple is calling smart HDR in their presentation that sounds a lot like what HDR does on most phones now anyway where it just takes multiple photos of different exposures and combines them rhythmically to create the most balance shot from pieces of each and so here's a camera comparison where we have photos taken on the 10s compared to the same photo as best as I could do taking on the 10 for you guys to see what the differences you can now also adjust the bokeh after the fact something that other companies have had for a while but it's great to see on the iPhone finally video wise we have four microphones for reporting better stereo sound and we have the ability to have extended dynamic range for video up to 30 frames per second and just because we should test it right here is a video shot on the 10s with the same video as best as I could do shot on the 10 next to it so you guys can take battery life has apparently been increased by 30 minutes on the 10s over the 10 even though it has a slightly smaller battery at 26:58 milliamps compared to 27 16 the 10s max by the way supposedly can get an hour and a half more over the 10 years destined the battery life with all of the major flagship devices that I have right now they're out that our competitors to some degree including the 10s max the 10s and the 10 and they claim it as better wireless charging but they didn't really say what that meant so I tested it and it turns out that up to 80% at least the 10s is faster at wirelessly charging than the 10 but once we get to 80% the 10 actually gets to a hundred faster than the 10s does now because getting up to 80 is probably more important I would say that is improved but there you go now gigabit LTE is finally available on the newer iPhones as well which means that you'll not only get faster speeds but you'll also get better coverage thanks to things like 4x4 myma which uses multiple antennas or of them to get better signal compared to older iPhones again it's something we've seen in other devices and I've even done videos on which I'll link below if you want to learn more about how it works but I decided to put the two side-by-side in an area that I know gigabit LTE is available here in New York City in Manhattan to see how they did and compared them to an Android equivalent now the iPhone 10s is also dual SIM capable now so you can use two sims with two phone numbers on the device at the same time something that's a bit more important overseas where you might cross country lines and need a different carrier when you do that more so than you would need here in the US but still now we also have the usual Bluetooth 5.0 Wi-Fi a total Evan AC and NFC for Apple pay so now master software the device is running iOS 12 and there isn't any feature in it that is going to only be on this device that isn't on the 10 except for that adjusting of the bokeh in the portrait mode after the photo is taken because you know Apple likes to withhold these things from use of a you upgrade it seems and since iOS 12 is out and on a lot of iPhones already apparently chances are you already know how most of it works so really quickly then for those of you that this might be your first iPhone without a home button maybe I'll do a super fast overview of the UI so compared to the home button touting iPhones you know I've never get the system using gestures on all of these new iPhones firstly to unlock the phone you can either tap the power but on the right or just raise it while looking at it at this point the idea being that you can swipe up from the bottom to get to the home screen and that the face unlock should have already recognized you by then regardless you can tell when it does recognize you though by the lock logo at the top showing unlocked now once on the home screen you'll see all of your apps as icons on a series of screens and you can swipe to the left to get to and you can tap and hold on them to reorder them drag them on top of each other to create folders that then can be swiped through as well or tap the X to delete them from the phone you can also 3d touch on an app icon which means touching with increased force to get some quick actions for that app if they are supported by the developer of the app so I'm to the right you get to your widgets which brings info to the screen from apps that support them without having to open the app you can tap Edit at the bottom here to reorder these add new ones or remove them on the home screen you can swipe down to get to the Universal Search which lets you find apps websites etc and when you're on any page that isn't the home screen you can swipe up from the bottom of the phone to get back to the home screen or swipe up and hold it there to get to your multitasking view in here you can swipe left or right to switch between apps and you can even swipe up on them to close them and swipe them away swiping down from the top right of the screen basically in that gap between the notch edge will give you the control center which you can use to quickly access things like Wi-Fi brightness bluetooth volume etc slipping down from anywhere on the knotch or to its left and you'll get your notifications that you can tap to interact with swipe to dismiss or three touch to get quick actions for etcetera and there you go that's basically it for the software a quick rundown again I'm not gonna dive into it because chances are if you're looking at this video you either have an iPhone or you're at least familiar with somebody's iPhone and their software the settings and all of that is gonna basically be the same let me know in the future if you guys want me to do like iOS version walkthroughs like when iOS 12 initially comes out doing a complete walkthrough of everything in that you guys really want me to do it I'll do it let me know in the comments of love to hear you guys about that there are guys hope you enjoyed that I'm gonna be releasing some of those tests just kind of as stand-alones for anybody who wants to check those out in a little more detail with a little more talking about why it's winning why it's losing all those other things the camera comparison will zoom in on photos and everything else in those videos please subscribe and check the bail next the word subscribe so you get notified when those all go live if you're interested otherwise though I hope you enjoyed this video please let me know in the comments below what you thought of the video of the new phone etc always a pleasure to hear from you guys and as always regardless thanks\n"
