The Best Wear OS Smartwatch No one Is Talking About!

**The TicWatch Pro 5 Review: A Capable Smartwatch with Room for Improvement**

The TicWatch Pro 5, developed by Moboi, is a smartwatch that boasts an impressive array of features and technologies. Its main display, a 1.43-inch OLED screen, is a standout feature that offers smooth touch response, bright colors, and excellent visibility outdoors. However, it's worth noting that the contrast ratio could be improved, with some users potentially noticing a secondary display on the top.

In addition to its sleek design, the TicWatch Pro 5 also features Corning Gorilla glass protection, which provides an extra layer of durability against scratches and other forms of damage. This added layer of protection is certainly a welcome feature, but it's clear that even with this advanced technology, the watch is not completely immune to wear and tear.

One of the most interesting aspects of the TicWatch Pro 5 is its Health monitoring features, which include heart health analysis, SpO2 tracking, stress and breathing rate measurement, and more. The watch can detect irregularities in heart rate levels, such as tachycardia and bradycardia, making it a valuable tool for those looking to monitor their cardiovascular health. However, the user experience could be improved with deeper insights into how and why certain health metrics are off from normal.

Another notable feature of the TicWatch Pro 5 is its "One Tab Measurements" capability, which allows users to quickly measure heart rate, SpO2, stress, breathing rate, and more with a single tap. The watch also supports over 100 exercise modes and can log heart rate data with impressive accuracy. However, when testing it alongside the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, we found that Moboi's algorithm was slightly off in determining the target heart rate zone.

The recovery time suggested by the TicWatch Pro 5 is also somewhat dubious, with estimates ranging from several hours to an entire day before a user can safely resume exercise. This is likely due to the fact that Moboi's algorithms are not as advanced as those used by Samsung and other watch manufacturers. Furthermore, the sleep tracking feature of the TicWatch Pro 5 has been known to fail on multiple occasions, recording incomplete or inaccurate data.

Despite these issues, the TicWatch Pro 5's built-in GPS is surprisingly accurate, quickly capturing location data in most situations. However, accuracy can be compromised when navigating dense areas or moving at high speeds.

One of the biggest drawbacks of the TicWatch Pro 5 is its companion app, Moboy Health. The app's UI/UX is woefully inadequate, taking an excessive amount of time to render health stats and failing to provide access to many settings for the watch itself. While it's possible to sync data with Google Fit, this falls short of a truly comprehensive experience.

**Conclusion**

Overall, the TicWatch Pro 5 is a capable smartwatch that offers an excellent battery life and access to the Play Store, thanks to its Qualcomm flagship chip. However, there are several areas where Moboi needs to improve, including Health Services and the companion app. With a price cut, the watch could become a more attractive option for those looking for a reliable smartwatch with advanced health features. As it stands, the TicWatch Pro 5 is an intriguing device that has potential but requires further development and refinement.

**Recommendation**

Based on our review, we would recommend the TicWatch Pro 5 to anyone looking for a smartwatch with excellent battery life, heart rate monitoring capabilities, and access to advanced Health features. However, due to its numerous flaws, including an inadequate companion app and somewhat unreliable health tracking, we would caution potential buyers to weigh their options carefully before making a purchase.

In the current market, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro offers a similar experience with more refined Health services and a user-friendly interface. Additionally, last year's TicWatch 5 Pro is available at significantly discounted prices, making it an attractive alternative for those on a budget.

Ultimately, the decision to purchase the TicWatch Pro 5 will depend on individual preferences and priorities. With ongoing software updates and improvements, Moboi may yet address some of the device's shortcomings and create a truly exceptional smartwatch experience.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso ever since Samsung's tizen and Google's where OS merged into one I was quite excited to see where this Smartwatch platform was headed next but the way the new wear OS AKA where OS 3 rolled out was kind of underwhelming it was exclusive to Samsung smart watches for the longest time whereas even after more than two years into the merger there are only a handful of where OS 3 power devices so far including this new tech watch profile from moboy which might just be the best wear OS Smartwatch no one is talking about right now it costs 350 in the US or around 35 000 rupees in India and for some reason it's not getting nearly enough love as it should sure there are a few things it does not quite get right but there are so many things to love here so like always let me kick off this review with every things that great about the TIC watch Pro 5. and the battery life is definitely somewhere on the top of that list I am not sugar coating it but the tick wash Pro 5 has one of the most impressive battery endurance I've ever seen on a rare OS powered Smartwatch and there are quite a few tricks mobile has used to achieve this first it comes with a massive 628 milliamp hour battery with which it is consistently giving me like three days of backup before needing a refill compared to what you get from most other wear OS smart watches like Google's pixel watch or the regular Galaxy watch from Samsung which is outstanding I've been blasting every Health tracking feature to all day monitoring while also using GPS navigation every now and then so that is quite impressive I have to say apart from a bigger battery it also brings more boys signature dual display setup for that excellent battery backup too on top of a power hungry OLED panel there's this transparent ultra low power secondary display that can show everything from time to your workout stats and more then there's qualcomm's Flagship Snapdragon W5 plus gen 1 chip powering it which is all about efficiency by jumping from a 12 denim process on the older Snapdragon 4100 series to 4nm Qualcomm says the W5 plus gen 1 achieves an incredible 50 better efficiency the new W5 plus gen 1 also brings two times faster performance and more boy has also upgraded to 2GB Ram this time however I am not seeing that drastic generational leap in action here I'm not sure if all of this new wear OS code is wearing it down but the ticwatch Pro 5 is not as smooth as I thought it would be of course it does not feel laggy and this is still one of the smoothest smart watches I've used that's not made by Apple but I expected something better with the new chipset there's also more voice essential mode to save battery which limits you to a few basic functions only via the secondary display but I do not use it that much because it essentially cuts off the wear OS side of things like no phone calls no Fitness tracking and no notifications to complement that excellent battery life The Tick watch Pro 5 juices are pretty quickly as well you can get around 65 battery with just 30 minutes of charge or a little over an hour for a complete refill moving on I'm also digging the design of the Smartwatch although it's muted look does not necessarily scream high-end or fashionable but that's quite all right for me plus considering it's big battery I was expecting this thing to be rather bulky and heavy but I'm pleasantly surprised so yeah I have had no trouble putting it on all day every day this silicon strap is also quite basic for a 350 dollar Smartwatch but movoi has not used a proprietary strap style so you can easily replace it with a 24 mm universal strap the build quality of the turquoise Pro 5 is quite solid to 2 it has 7000 series aluminum case and 5 ATM water resistance which means that it is more than capable to survive the harsh outdoors and it has surpassed the US military standard E10 Edge tests against different environmental extremes as well so as far as durability is concerned the tick wash Pro 5 does not disappoint for easier navigation around the watch you get a couple of buttons here including a rotating crown that can open up the app drawer or scroll through the widget system UI and more I also like how it's accompanied by a crisp haptic feedback however its vibration motor is not as strong as I'd like and maybe an option to remap these buttons would have been nice too as for the display it's excellent stuff first you can do a lot of things with the secondary display from customizing the backlight color to a bunch of scrollable widgets what's even more impressive is that this ultra low power display can now die dynamically change its backlight based on what heart rate zone you're hitting in your workout so with a quick glance I can tell whether I've been pushing too hard or need a break or if I need to power through and work harder which I think is totally awesome stick wash Pro 5's main 1.43 inches OLED display is no joke either it's got a smooth touch response it gets bright enough outdoors and the colors look great as well it does not have the best contrast ratio I've seen from an OLED Smartwatch because of that secondary display on the top though but after a few days of getting used to it I didn't even notice it moboy also says that it has layered it all with Corning Gorilla glass protection but sadly I've already managed to get a few scratches here okay let's now talk about its Health monitoring features because there are quite a few interesting features here like heart health analysis which can detect irregularities in heart rate levels like if trachycardia and bradycardia I can definitely see this thing being useful to a lot of folks but I feel like more boys should be doing a little better in terms of how it presents your health data so when manually measuring heart rate for example instead of just saying it's all normal or some irregularity detected it should be giving you deeper insights into how and why my heart health is the way it is another interesting feature here is called one tab measurements uh with this what happens is the ticwatch Pro 5 can read your heart rate heart health spo2 stress and breathing rate oil with a simple click similarly it supports over a hundred exercise modes and testing it next to my Galaxy watch 5 Pro I found that both of them logged my heart rate pretty similarly but interestingly enough mobile is Target and Arabic heart rate zone is actually pretty absurd starting at an insane 174 BPM so if you were to record an intense workout targeting the anaerobic Zone which is somewhere between 80 to 90 percent of your max heart rate by the way it's highly unlikely that you're going to hit your goals according to this guy also the recovery time it suggests is downright hilarious sometimes um as you can see from this chart this was a pretty light outdoor work with my Peak heart rate at just 151 BPM but moreover suggests that it'll take more than 13 hours for my body to return to normal physical condition before I can start another workout sadly its sleep tracking is also not as reliable as I'd like uh sure it gets my time to bed and the time I get up accurately most of the time but there have been multiple occasions when the watch has failed to record my sleep cycle completely anyway the TIC watch Pro 5's built-in GPS catches onto a single fairly quickly though as expected the accuracy of the location data goes a little haywire when you are in a particularly dense area but that's not actually a big deal now that brings me to my biggest problem with this Smartwatch which is its companion app called moboy Health it's just so poorly built that it almost looks like what you get with a cheap Chinese Smartwatch and I'm sad to see that the company still has not done anything significant to upgrade its app since the last time I used it for the ticwatch E3 its UI ux is very poorly designed it takes way too long to render your health stats and most of the settings for the watch are not available on the app either at least you can sync your data to Google Fit app but yeah more boy help needs to get a lot better there's no other way all in all despite all the flaws The Tick wash Pro 5 is a perfectly capable SmartWatch with an excellent battery life and all the wear OS benefits like access to the Play Store and since it is powered by qualcomm's Flagship chip it's going to age a lot better over time too but there are a lot of things mobile needs to work on like making its Health Services a lot more robust and dependable and massively improving its companion app which they can do with future software updates right now the tick watch Pro 5 does not even have Google Assistant although mobile says it is working with Google to bring that feature pretty soon plus I think moboy needs to do some kind of price cut right now to justify its value you can already get like 5000 rupees off in India but it is still 350 in the US with Samsung's Galaxy watch 6 lineup right around the corner you can already get last year's watch5 Pro for a much discounted rate so yeah maybe a price cut would make the tick
