iPhone 6 Review _ Extended Hands-On 2015

**A Review of the iPhone 6: A Smartphone Experience Like No Other**

If you're in the market for a new smartphone, I've got some great news for you - the iPhone 6 is an absolute powerhouse that's sure to leave you impressed. With its powerful A8 processor and sleek design, this phone is a beast of a device that's capable of handling even the most demanding tasks with ease.

One of the standout features of the iPhone 6 is its camera. The 8-megapixel camera on the back is not only incredibly sharp, but it also has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a top-of-the-line smartphone camera. With advanced features like 1080p video recording at up to 60fps and slow-motion video recording in 960fps, this camera is perfect for capturing life's special moments.

But what really sets the iPhone 6 apart is its display. The 4.7-inch screen may not be the largest on the market, but it's certainly one of the best. With a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, the display is crisp and clear, making it perfect for watching videos, browsing the web, or gaming.

Speaking of gaming, the iPhone 6 is also an absolute beast when it comes to performance. The A8 processor is lightning-fast, ensuring that you can play even the most demanding games without any lag or slowdown. And with a 1GB RAM and 16GB storage option, there's plenty of room for apps and data.

But what really sets the iPhone 6 apart from other smartphones on the market is its ease of use. The phone is incredibly intuitive, making it easy to navigate even if you're not tech-savvy. And with features like Siri, which can perform a wide range of tasks with just your voice command, this phone is perfect for anyone who wants a hassle-free smartphone experience.

One feature that I particularly appreciate on the iPhone 6 is its ability to talk to Siri while the screen is off. To enable this feature, you'll need to go to Settings > General > and then enable "Allow 'Hey Siri'". Then, simply say "Hey Siri" while the phone is plugged in to a power source, and it will respond with all the usual commands.

Another little trick that I've discovered on the iPhone 6 is its ability to edit photos. If you go to your Photos app and select an image, you can see a thumbnail preview of the edited version next to the original. But what's really cool is that if you hold down on this thumbnail, it will revert back to the original image. This feature may seem like a minor one, but it's actually really useful for comparing different versions of your photos.

Finally, I'd like to mention the iPhone 6's keyboard options. Since iOS 8, users have been able to download third-party keyboards from the App Store. This means that you can customize your keyboard with your favorite features and layouts, making typing even faster and more comfortable.

In conclusion, the iPhone 6 is an absolute powerhouse of a smartphone that's sure to leave you impressed. With its powerful A8 processor, stunning display, and range of innovative features like Siri and photo editing, this phone is perfect for anyone looking for a hassle-free smartphone experience. Whether you're coming from an older iPhone or upgrading from a different smartphone brand, the iPhone 6 is definitely worth considering.

**Recommended Specs**

If you're in the market for a new smartphone, I'd highly recommend opting for the 64GB model of the iPhone 6. This will give you plenty of storage space for apps, data, and media files, ensuring that you don't run out of room anytime soon.

**A Note on Screen Size**

One thing to note about the iPhone 6 is its screen size. With a display of just 4.7 inches, it's actually smaller than some other smartphones on the market. However, this can be a major advantage in terms of portability and ease of use. The phone is incredibly easy to hold and use with one hand, making it perfect for commuting or traveling.

**A Comparison to Other Smartphones**

If you're interested in comparing the iPhone 6 to other smartphones on the market, I've got some great news for you. In my upcoming video review, I'll be pitting the iPhone 6 against its rival, the iPhone 6 Plus. We'll be taking a close look at how these two phones stack up against each other in terms of performance, camera quality, and overall user experience.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, the iPhone 6 is an absolute powerhouse of a smartphone that's sure to leave you impressed. With its powerful A8 processor, stunning display, and range of innovative features like Siri and photo editing, this phone is perfect for anyone looking for a hassle-free smartphone experience. Whether you're coming from an older iPhone or upgrading from a different smartphone brand, the iPhone 6 is definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys my name is Tom and I'm the tech chap welcome to my in-depth iPhone 6 review if you're interested in the iPhone 6 Plus or the differences between the 6 and the 6 plus I have separate videos looking at those a bit more closely but for now taking a really detailed look at the iPhone 6 and over its predecessor the 5S it's got a bigger screen it's bigger overall it's got a better camera faster processor and the Design's been improved it's bigger but it's thinner but it is actually a little bit heavier than the 5S and not everyone's going to be a fan of the new design I'm not sure I am just yet so it's a fairly standard upgrade across the board we're pretty much used to this now with apple every year but by far the biggest change here is that bigger screen at 4.7 in prices start for Sim 3 unlocked models at about £539 or $649 for the 16 GB model but as I go into detail in my review I would really not recommend the 16 if you can opt for the 64 GB model you'll be worried about storage capacity the entire time you own it if you up for the smaller one uh but that does bring up the price a little bit we're talking £ 619 or $749 for the 64 gig model so is expensive uh but it is an iPhone and we're pretty much used to this cost by now so let's get down to Brass TX is it any good has Apple done enough to fight off the competition and should you buy one let's find out as soon as you pick up the iPhone 6 you know you're going to enjoy using it you might not be a fan of iOS or how much it costs but picking it up unlocking it with the touch ID and just swiping around the home screens is always a great experience it's reliable it's smooth smooth it's simple and that's all great but except for the recent addition of touch ID I felt that way pretty much about every iPhone since I suppose the 3Gs so why am I still spending 5 or 600 on the new iPhone 6 well it all comes down to one number really 4.7 in the first thing you'll notice is how much bigger the screen is compared with older iPhones but in reality it's still not that Big 5 in was the average screen size for a smartphone in 2014 and personally that would be probably the perfect size for me but everyone has their own preference what 4.7 in does mean though is that in my opinion the iPhone 6 is the best high-end flagship phone for one-handed use it really is I can reach everything I need to from the top row of apps to swapping down from the notifications with my thumb this ease of use is an unexpected pleasure having just reviewed the 6 Plus and I'm currently using a 5.2 in Sony Z3 uh for my day-to-day use the reachability the portability and just these ease of use is actually become a selling point now um and that's actually quite interesting for me personally reviewing it and um it's one of those things that if you have been used to a larger screen phone you'll definitely notice um how easy this is to pocket to use especially one-handed but if you're used if you're used to buying iPhones you have an iPhone already then actually what we all see is a big benefit a big screen change and uh I think you'll really appreciate the extra real estate you get here now although I can tell you about the 3 and 1 half mil Jack on the bottom lightning Port speaker and on the right the nano SIM power button and the left the volume rockers and the toggle for Sal mode or not but you probably already know about that the most important aspect of the design overall is simply its portability it's lightweight at 129 G although that's actually up from the 5s's 112 G so is a bit heavier if you're coming from its predecessor it's incredibly thin just 6.8 m mm thin and overall the aluminium body gives it a really premium feel and this is sort of accentuated by the smooth glass front and comfortable rounded Corners which fit really nicely in your palm it's a great phone to hold it's a great phone to use You could argue that the older smartphones were even more portable with the smaller screen sizes sure but what the iPhone 6 does is combine the rare especially in 2015 feature of portability with a great screen superb camera and the latest f A8 processor it's this rare combination of power and portability that I really miss in the majority of high-end smartphones but the design isn't quite perfect in my opinion I'm not a huge fan of the rear it looks almost industrial and unfinished and the protruding camera doesn't really fit figuratively and literally with what I've come to expect from Apple's design it just looks just unfinished I think that's the any way I can describe it but it's certainly nice it's smooth it's more grippable than the iPhone 6 Plus but that's primarily just because you can fit your whole hand around it it is a very soft and still quite slippery aluminium body so you're going to want to put a case on this not only to cover up the protruding camera mean it doesn't get scratched but also uh it's an expensive phone so you going to want to protect it and also perhaps make it a little bit more rugged a little bit more grippable in the hand the front bezels remain unchanged affording it a distinctly average screen to body ratio of 67.9% I don't mind so much since the lower bezel have is the excellent Touch ID but with the speaker still relegated to the bottom and easily muffled by your hand I might add it's a shame they can't trim it down or make greater use of the space now let's take a closer look at this gorgeous display this is a 4.7 in IPS LED display that's a resolution of 1334 by 750 uh which gives 326 pixels per inch which is not especially sharp it offers really natural yet vibrant colors great viewing angles and producing just under 550 nits is nice and bright even in the broad daylight the only issue is the slightly odd resolution as I say this is 1334 x 750 which isn't as sharp as the 6 Plus which offers a 1080p so that's full HD screen uh and that actually offers 401 PPI quite a bit more than this 326 it's a shame since for nearly three generations of Android phones we've enjoyed sharper full HD or better resolutions at display sizes you know not dis similar if you remember remember the original HTC1 that was 4.7 in and Full HD the Galaxy S4 was 5 in and Full HD uh it's the same with the Sony Zed Series so we're still seeing Android phones taking a bit of a lead here in resolution and it's one of those things where you may not really care about that but and it's only going to be an issue if you hold this right up to your eye and squint and you can then maybe just make out the pixels but it's just one of those things that on paper it does stand out that it's sort of a bit behind the competition and given the price of it and the rest of the premium components it seems a bit odd that they just can't increase that resolution now Apple created the retina display marketing term and the now slightly overused metric of PPI that I'm actually guilty of using myself they've fallen behind their own retina breakthrough in a way the argument that higher res displays use more battery life is true although to what extent is debatable and that would be a valid argument if it was a ludicrous sort of Quad HD like 1440p display but it's not even 1080P and as we'll see in the battery life section it's not exactly enabling a fantastic battery performance either so we're not really seeing any gain from the slightly lackluster resolution here so on paper it's falling behind the competition a little bit but in reality it's fine and thanks to the well calibrated display it remains one of the best smartphone displays you can find another great feature is the oleophobic coating if I turn the screen off you maybe I'll see a little bit more clearly but but it works really well to prevent fingerprints and smudges and keeps the screen relatively clean and grease free I can uh put my greasy fingers on here and even in broad daylight it only sort of offers a slight smudging to it but it's a lot better than most smartphones and ensures that this really nice beautiful smooth soft glass remains pretty clean so except for the resolution I think the only area I'd like to see Improvement on in terms of display is the strength of the screen the current ion strength and glass is fragile and susceptible to NY let me I hope don't know if you can make out there's a slight scratch at the top left here I think you can just make out here right there and I'm pretty careful with my phones I deal with a lot of phones and this is actually the only phone I have slightly scratched and it's a shame because it although it's not doesn't really affect anything it's purely cosmetic I can see it when the light reflects on it and it's just takes away from a bit of the premium overall feeling it is fragile and susceptible to Nicks and scratches and from my own experience as I say and that of my friends the iPhone 6 glass is still relatively easy to scratch and prone to crack if dropped it would be great if they could finally use the sapphire glass protection that's been rumored or even utilize Gorilla Glass 3 or 4 that we've seen on many Android phones so it's fragile glass adds to the already delicate feel of the device but as long as you're careful with it it's still one of the best displays you'll find moving on to look at the performance and storage it's pretty simp simp really this is the fastest iPhone you can buy it features a 64-bit A8 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz alongside the M8 motion C processor which handles the sensors and bits and Bobs and 1 gig of ram in benchmarks it's actually slightly faster than the iPhone 6 plus I'll talk a bit more about that in the comparison video between the 6 and the 6 Plus but essentially the iPhone 6 only has to push around a million pixels at this resolution for the display whereas the iPhone 6 Plus has about 2.7 million so although the 6 Plus plus gets a sharper screen it does require more horsepower which it doesn't have to push those extra pixels so in synthetic benchmarks like an 2u uh you'll see that this is incredibly fast uh the iPhone 6 Plus scores around 47,000 and as you can see here this is over 4 51,000 so it is faster in synthetic benchmarks but in reality you're not really going to see a difference but I think it's quite interesting that even though the iPhone 6 Plus is more expensive and perhaps people associate it as being better and therefore perhaps faster it's not actually the case and uh but on on the other hand you are losing a bit of the clarity in the display this only being just above 720p so in reality both extremely fast very reliable and will play all the latest demanding games and apps from the App Store so what better way than just to demonstrate with a quick game of asphal 8 I'll uh Jump Right In And this is also a good opportunity to demonstrate the speaker a little bit one issue I found on this and the iPhone 6 Plus is the single speaker placement in the bottom is fairly easy to muffle with your hand or your palm or your finger perhaps I'll I'll show you while I play this but this should also give you a bit of a demonstration of how well the speaker works so let's Jump Right In I'm going to do a tutorial so I'll give it a bit of volume so you can uh hear what's going on still takes a few seconds to load but I'll use this point to demonstrate the speaker it's pretty good but quite easy to muffle but we'll come back to that for a second just at this point let's just demonstrate how this runs flawlessly and and uh except for my driving skills you'll uh appreciate that that's not a good start I played numerous games on this they all run absolutely flawlessly you can't get a faster iPhone as I say and only the iPad has a slightly faster chip but that's even that's with the 8X but that's pushing an even higher resolution display so essentially this is the fastest iPhone you can get so if it's on the App Store you can play it well but let's go back to the speaker it sounds pretty good it's punchy it's Bassy and it's so it's actually pretty good for uh just a single speaker on the bottom but if I accidentally muffle it or I do on purpose you can see that you can hear that it really does affect the sound quality and now that's to be that's not to be expected you know you're putting your finger over it but I this is a fragile phone and I'm likely to grip it quite substantially in order to not Drop It or Break It And in doing so I'm often finding myself like this covering up the speaker so you know I could play it upside down uh it's not obviously not going to flip but to demonstrate it's still again here it uh it muffled so it's a bit annoying that and I found this on my review of the iPhone 6 Plus as well it it would be great to have a second speaker perhaps on the top or even front facing speakers ideally but it's a great speaker but you just have to be careful not to muffle the speaker with your hand but probably most people would use headphones anyway so it's not the end of the world now just a quick mention that although this does only have 1 GB of RAM which is actually far less than most high-end Android phones where we're seeing two or even 3 gab the really the iOS handles multitasking means it's not really an issue basically multitasking isn't quite as extensive as it is in Android uh if you switch between apps after a short period of time going back to it basically restarts the app anyway so let me see if I can demonstrate that to you I'm just going through a few different apps here so if I were to go back to the game uh we'll see how we how it leaves off that's not too bad but essentially it handles multitasking a bit differently than Android phones but to be fair I think I prefer it like that I have to I don't have to worry about Ram issues it's also less of an issue perhaps because you're not exposed to RAM usage statistics uh which are slightly more accessible on Android phones all the slightly more frequent app crashes you get on Android so despite only having one gig of RAM it performs much more reliably than pretty much any other phone on the market and this is a credit to iOS but also the problems associated with hardware and software fragmentation on Android devices so in terms of performance it's brilliant you can't fault it it's really really really fast and anything you want to play from Candy Crush to Modern the combat to asphal 8 will run nice and smoothly on this now moving on to the storage as we discussed with the price in the intro I'd really highly recommend opting for the 64 GB model I have reviewed the 64 GB iPhone 6 Plus but this is the only the 16 GB model iPhone 6 and so if I show you in the settings that even with 16 GB the actual capacity available to you is only 12 GB and after you put a few apps on perhaps you download some music you know you as you can see here I've only got a couple of Gigs available left to me uh so for such an expensive th phone this still cost me 550 quid at 6 you know for 16 gig I would pay that a little bit extra if you can I really would to get it up to 64 GB it's a shame that uh Apple you know don't offer the 32 gab option as a default it's a little bit cheap I think or at least even if not default provide as an option so we don't have to pay the full extra amount up to 64 gigabytes um but that's genuine advice to you please do go for the 64 if you can I mean this works perfectly fine sure but you're going to be struggling with it you're going to be fighting with the storage all the time you're going to be deleting apps and it's just going to be taking away from the overall enjoyment of the phone now in terms of battery we have have a 1,810 milliamp hour battery inside that doesn't sound particularly big but size isn't really usually a good indicator of battery performance in iPhones mainly due to the more efficient uh optimized hardware and software now it's non- removable of course and unfortunately it's sort of the one thing in my testing that doesn't quite match the rest of the spec of the phone although improved with the 5S battery life is still pretty average if I'm going to take it to work with me the next day I definitely need to charge it overnight in my testing it lasted just over 30 hours my use I would say is pretty typical it includes a bit of Spotify couple of hours of web browsing maybe half an hour of gaming and a fair amount of standby and the odd photo or video so just over a day really which is fine it's an improvement over the predecessor but it's still a long way off what we're seeing in the rivals like the Sony Zed 3 so bear in mind it's not the best battery life and we'll take a we'll take a close look at the 6 versus 6 Plus Battery comparison in that separate video so go and check that out if you'd like cuz that is a fair bit better than this and one of the main reasons actually you might want to consider going for the bigger phone so it will do you fine it will get you through the day but either have a power pack with you or make sure you have a charger overnight because you're not going to get two days out of this that's for sure that's just one of those things that falls down a bit and as we go back to the display you know this isn't pushing even a full HD display so it's a shame we're not seeing a little bit better performance in terms of battery life from this so I think it's about time we take a Clos look at the camera a good camera is something pretty much everyone wants out of their smartphone and the iPhones have a long and successful history of producing excellent STS and videos so how does the iPhone 6 Fair well spec-wise we have an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2 megapix front camera both with f2.0 aperture and both from my testing are really really good so as I'm sure you know with megapixels they don't mean an awful lot for example in my opinion this iPhone 6 takes better pictures with its 8 megapixel camera than the 20.7 megapixels you can find on the Sony Xperia zed3 but that comes down to software sensor size aperture size and a whole range of things but essentially don't worry that lots of Alternatives and Android phones have much have far greater number of megapixels it really isn't about that as HTC tried to prove but actually weren't quite so successful with the ht1 HTC1 series but as always the proof is in the pudding so let's take a look at some of the snaps I took this morning now the first thing I'll say is and I've mentioned this in the iPhone 6 Plus is that the 4x3 uh aspect ratio of the sensor does annoy me a bit in other phones you can perhaps opt to lower the megapixel count in order to get a 16 by9 shot and I appreciate you can always crop it yourself but in the camera mode and in the gallery you get this black letter boxing out side of the image and it's just a little bit annoying in my opinion uh because everything else I use is 16 by9 from my TV my laptop my main computer my other phones so uh it's just that it's just that's little grievance it doesn't take really anything away from it I know you can crop it and most people don't care but for someone who uses their camera a fair bit on the on the phone it's it would be nice to have a 16 by9 sensor in it so let's let's take a look at a few pictures if I uh show you I went for a little walk about this morning to show you a few candid photos and videos so if I jump in with this picture of a clock you can see immediately it's a little bit um distracting the white either side the bars at the top but if I show you here okay it goes black so it just blend in a bit picture looks great the uh clouds still retain some detail even though it's they're quite bright and the foreground is quite dark we keeping detail throughout colors look nice but iPhones have always taken good pictures they they're usually ahead of the competition to be fair and I think this is still the case here aside from perhaps the Galaxy Note 4 which maybe has a slightly better camera this is really excellent and um will do you just fine in pretty much any situation so the clock looks good let's move on to these flowers if I zoom in everything looks nice and bright and crisp if you zoom right in you can see a little bit of noise a little bit of the software postprocessing which mud muddies things a little bit but that's only if you really crop right in and for most people from a standard view you're not really going to notice that now I want to talk to you a little bit about the video side of it not everyone knows that you this actually does have the capability to shoot 1080p but in 60 frames per second there's a little mode in the settings I'll show you where you can actually enable that so if I it's fairly hidden away though if you scroll uh Fairway down to photos and camera and you scroll down again there will be an option called record video at 60 FPS and this is defaultly uh disabled so you may not even know about it whether you want to use it as a personal choice it does make things look a bit more like a soap oper but um I quite like it but anyway I decided to shoot some video uh in both 30 and 60 fps to show you the difference between them and you can see which one you prefer so if we go back to the video I believe this first video is in 30 frames per second this nothing particularly interesting but it all you can see everything looks nice cars are rich and if we go along again this is the same clip a few seconds later obviously but in 60 frames per second so there's a perceptible but fairly subtle uh smoothness to the whole thing and I think I quite like it it gives everything a little bit more of a modern slightly more futuristic look it let me play it again for you and it's just quite a nice feature I mean this doesn't have 4K video recording but I still think that's a bit of a gimmick so I'll I won't take points away from that but if we just continue scrolling through a few more photos you can see throughout that colors are nice it's natural looking nothing's particularly blown out that sky is nice and colorful uh the different colors on the shop fronts are natural but still vibrant I think you'd agree I really am a big fan of it and although this doesn't have Optical image stabilization which the iPhone 6 Plus does have and again that's something we'll look at In the comparison video it shoots really nice really Crisp And if you zoom even if you zoom right in it still retains that uh quality throughout so I'm very impressed with the smartphone here and even in difficult difficult lighting where the sky is really bright and perhaps the ground is a bit dim or a bit dull it works well and it produces some nice pictures now one thing I will look at as I say In the comparison is the ois the optical image stabilization but I'll just show you simply walking through through a field and you can see how stable it is how well it comes out and uh usually when you're walking and filming you do get a quite a significant sort of bump each time you place a new step and although you can see that in the video it's not as noticeable as it was on other phones and actually is uh better than I thought it would be this is still at 60 frames per second as well cuz I just prefer shooting at that it's it's but that's a personal preference and something you'll have to think about but again I'm so impressed with the video the quality of Stills does carry over to video and sound quality is also really nice and this fairly interesting sort of macro picture of this tree bark you can really see the detail you can get in the picture um so it's great for Vista shots panoramic shots but also great really up close and even in diff difficult sunlight now the front facing camera as I say is 1.2 megapixels and is pretty good it shoots at 720p um and it will as as I said in most of my videos I don't really take selfies or use a front camera that much but for the benefit of this uh I apologize but I have taken a couple of selfies and pretty good um it's not something I use all the time but for a lot of you a front a good front- facing camera will be important before we finish on the camera I want to show you a couple more of the slow-mo and timelapse photos uh features but a uh a great shot my cat likes to jump on a different chair so I managed to time it just right so I I caught the video of it slow motion so I'll show this to you now unfortunately my cat is quite old and a little bit overweight so she doesn't actually make the jump I think that's because the uh Newton's third on the cushion that she's standing on pushes back as she goes forward but it's a great video and I'm really pleased I got it and it just shows the uh if you capture it at the right moment you can get some great uh and really interesting videos from the slow motion feature and pause out and fell short it's a great video and it just shows what the kind of things you can do with the slow motion it's really interesting and this isn't particularly good lighting as you can see it's a little bit noisy but uh it still works pretty well so I'm impressed with it now finishing on the camera we got the time lapse feature um sorry I haven't filmed anything particularly more interesting than a British sky but you can see it's kind of interesting we the clouds were moving incredibly slowly not really even perceptively uh at any speed when I uh started doing this but I left this out there for about 10 minutes came back and it's pretty interesting to look at and I think if you perhaps have something more interesting to film maybe a road or yourself doing some work it'd be it's quite interesting to look at and I can hear myself keep saying the word interesting and that is what it is you know you're not getting gimmicks essentially on this it's it's the really the great camera great skills great video but you're also getting some pretty fun and pretty interesting features to it and I I will call them features as opposed to gimmicks um something that's a little bit uh rarer these days so I'm dead impressed with the camera and if you you know it really is a selling point for the phone now I won't keep you too much longer but I'll quickly mention the call Quality is excellent it's very very good the earpiece mic provides a warm natural voice tones and I sound pretty clear to the people I'm talking to there is a noise cancelling headphone that sits at the top of the phone to improve sound quality when taking calls there's also a new system which uses your data connection to actually boost the voice signal it's known as V LTE or volt I suppose although your network needs to support it and I actually can't test that feature because it's not currently available in the UK at all but the iPhone 6 has really good Coe quality it works well as a phone and you'd hope it would paying considering how much you paid for it the noise cancelling mic works well in windy conditions and uh voice quality overall is very very good so for a phone it works now I'm currently running iOS 8.2 which was uh primarily for compatibility with the upcoming Apple watch something I'm looking forward to using and reviewing for you guys and I'll probably pair it with this most people know how iOS works and what it's like to use so I won't bore you explaining every single feature of the latest IOS but essentially I really like iOS there are very few crashes it's very reliable um you've got Siri you've got some of the Apple apps including health and passbook which you may or may not use but um at the end of the day it's reliable it's smooth it's simple it's easy to use um but on the other hand you know you could argue it's a bit stale I do appreciate you have the parallx uh wallpapers which offer a little bit of motion I suppose to the uh home screen but it's a bit boring it's a bit dull the lack of Widgets or live tiles sort of that you can see on Android and Windows phones is you miss it a little bit so it's not going to be a big deal for most people especially if you've never really used an alternate operating system but I do appreciate the clock does move but as a whole it's a getting a little bit stale I think we haven't seen much Innovation Here for a Good few years despite all that though I would still say it has the best app ecosystem available on any operating system just the apps are just a little bit more reliable they a little bit more well optimized and that's primarily because there were few devices and the hard where is all is pretty similar and less fragmented as opposed to Android so if you're going to want if you want to play games if you want to use apps the range available to you uh the performance and smoothness that you get with this latest iPhone and the A8 in the back all adds up to just a great smartphone experience I really can't fault it now I'll leave you with a few uh little tips and tricks I found in my use of the phone first of all you can actually talk to Siri and I know you know that but you can actually say Hey Siri while the uh screen is off and it will respond to you but you do need to have the phone connected to a power source or charging when doing that but I'll show you how you do it if you go to settings uh and then go to General Siri and you enable allow hey Siri so if this was plugged in I could then turn that off and go hey Siri and it will wake up and I can do my bit talk to it and uh whatever you want to talk to Siri about another little trick I quite like is if you go to your photos and you've taken a photo let's have a look at this minu here if you edit photos like that you can see here you can edit the exposure you can add filters you can crop it but let me show you if you add a filter say like uh like that if you hold your finger down you can revert back to the original image so if you've made some edits and you want to see whether you prefer the original then just hold your finger down and you can see the differences it's it's pretty neat and not everyone knows about that since ios8 you can now add third party keyboard so if you're not a fan of the Apple keyboard you can now uh change it and just go to the App Store download one of the most popular ones which is either swipe or swift key and then you go to keyboard settings within settings and change that so it's nice that it's becoming a little bit less closed a little bit more open um and you can customize it a bit more which is always a good thing on iPhones so having reviewed it pretty thoroughly I'm really impressed with the iPhone 6 it's one of my favorite smartphones I've ever used or reviewed uh and I'd highly recommend it to you it's got a fantastic camera a really nice display even though it's not quite perhaps the resolution we'd like in 2015 but it's just an all round great package and of course you are paying a bit of a premium it's an Apple product it's more expensive than Rivals from Android or Windows but you know what it's almost worth it and I actually do recommend it to you as I say please op for the 64 gab model it's a bit more money but you'll be kicking yourself if you don't and it's just a genuine pleasure to use it's uh it reminded me finally after coming down from some larger screen size devices that uh a one-handed device uh the ease of use is actually a feature for me now it's not just uh a result of a smaller screen size it's something that I've actually come to appreciate so uh whether you coming from the F5s and you'll be appreciating the bigger screen and it'll be a step up for you or whether you're already on a different phone perhaps with a bigger screen size cuz this is a bit below average uh currently 4.7 in and the average is 5 in so either way you're getting a bigger screen and that's great if you're coming from this the 5S or a older iPhone or if you're coming down from a bigger phone uh you'll appreciate the portability and ease of use of it I know I did so with that said it's one of my favorite smartphones I'd highly recommend it please opt for the 64 GB model and uh I think that's pretty much all there is to say about it it's a fantastic phone I'm looking forward to pitting this against the latest and greatest Android phones uh as they come out throughout the year uh but for now this is probably my Benchmark phone it's uh the best iPhone you can buy it's the fastest iPhone you can buy uh actually beating the 6 Plus interestingly so if you're in the market for a new smartphone this would should be really high on your list so that's been my in-depth review of the iPhone 6 I hope you've enjoyed it please check out my videos for the iPhone 6
