The Joy of Watching a Child Discover the World

It's a fascinating experience to watch your child discover the world around them. As I sat with my little one, Jedi, we were playing with Star Wars figures and she seemed to be more interested in the weapons than the figures themselves. It was very strange, but also kind of adorable. She didn't understand what the black part or red part were, so it wasn't that she understood that the weapons were cool. But despite not understanding, she still loved them. It's like letting her explore and see how much fun she can have with something.

As we played, I couldn't help but notice how much joy she got out of a remote control. She would point it at things on the other side of the room and move them around, laughing and having a great time. And when she said "sleep now" and pointed to a napping app, I knew exactly what she meant. It was like she had discovered a whole new world, and I was happy to be along for the ride.

One of the best parts of watching your child discover the world is reading together. We were sitting on the floor with some books, and she asked me to read to her. I put on my best "daddy voice" and began to read, using inflections and expressions to bring the stories to life. She listened intently, her eyes wide with wonder, and when we finished, she snuggled up close to me and said "I love you too."

Winter is a wonderful time of year, especially for kids. The snowflakes fall gently from the sky, covering everything in a blanket of white. It's the perfect time to get outside and play, whether it's sledding down hills or building snowmen. And let's not forget about Jingle Bell singing - there's something magical about hearing those bells ringing out in the cold winter air.

As we made our way through the day, I realized that one of the best things about being a parent is getting to experience all the little moments with your child. Like when they take their first steps or say their first words. It's these small moments that make life so special, and I feel grateful every day for the opportunity to be a part of my child's journey.

But sometimes, as parents, we can get caught up in our own routine and forget to appreciate the little things. That's when it's nice to have a partner who understands what you're going through. My wife Diana is always there to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. And she's been spending some quality time with her mom, so I'm glad we can spend some time together too.

It was also great to see Kelly ichikawa take one of my ideas and run with it in a Star Wars cartoon. It's not always easy to know exactly what people want or need, but sometimes you just have to trust your instincts and go for it. And if that means sharing an idea with someone else, then so be it.

I couldn't help but feel a little bit of nostalgia as I thought about all the Christmases we've had in the past. There was one Christmas Eve, I think it was foggy outside, when Jedi came to visit me and said "I want to play with these pieces." And we ended up assembling a probe droid together. It was one of those moments where time just stood still, and all that mattered was being present in the moment.

As we wrap up this holiday season, I'm reminded of how much joy and wonder there is in life. And as parents, it's our job to help nurture that wonder and watch our children grow into the people they're meant to be. It's not always easy, but it's worth it. wait a minute where did I put the bag I didn't take out then one foggy Christmas Eve Jedi came to say I can't wait to play with these pieces and that's not really a true holiday mini figure it's just r2d2 with antlers that come off the top of his dome are to you red nosed Astra back you have found a brand new home I think we just assembled a probe droid Jedi and will place him right there or her done looks like some kind of speeder just one more day but we opened door number 24 on Christmas Eve tomorrow thank you for helping that we've fallen woefully behind on the city side I may have to go
