Samsung Galaxy S6 Review _ Best Android Phone

The Samsung Galaxy S6: A Genuinely Great Phone

There's a great deal more to the S6 than just a shiny new design. It features a quad HD Super AMOLED display, which is one of its standout features. This display offers 577 pixels per inch, making it incredibly sharp and vivid. Some may not like how vivid and oversaturated it can be, but there's a basic screen option that offers a more natural color temperature with rich whites and inky blacks. Everything from photos to movies to apps and games look superb.

The S6 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 7 processor, which is an impressively fast processor. It's paired with three gigabytes of RAM, making it capable of handling demanding tasks with ease. The phone also features two incredible cameras, a 16 megapixel optical image stabilized rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, both featuring an f1.9 aperture that ensures great low-light photos and videos.

The S6's design has been significantly improved over its predecessors. Gorilla Glass 4 now adorns the front and back of the phone, supported by an aluminum casing that gives the S6 a genuinely premium look and feel. The phone also features a bigger home button with a vastly improved fingerprint reader, thinner side bezels, and a repositioned speaker. The rounded corners provide a comfortable grip, and the good screen-to-body ratio makes the phone look sleek and stylish.

The S6 is not only beautiful but also comfortable to use. It's available in just 6.8 millimeters thick and weighs 138 grams, making it easy to carry around all day. However, this has come at a cost - the phone no longer has a removable battery or water resistance like some of its predecessors.

Despite these compromises, the S6 is still an incredibly fast device. The infamous TouchWiz UI is now flawlessly smooth, with apps loading quickly and the camera opening in under two seconds. It's astonishingly quick, thanks to the advanced hardware and processing power.

The phone's camera system is also one of its standout features. The 16 megapixel rear camera produces breathtaking shots with options for a simple auto mode or a pro mode where you can manually adjust ISO, focus, and more. The front camera may not be as powerful, but it still takes great photos. One of the best parts about the S6 is the live HDR option, which doesn't require any loading or processing - just simply turning on or off.

The S6 also features 1080p 60 qhd and 4k resolutions, making it capable of producing high-quality video footage. However, anything above 1080p 30 will lose its HDR and video stabilization, so the user must stick with normal 1080p for these settings.

One area where the S6 falls short is in battery life and call quality. The phone offers around 15 hours of charge time, which is enough for a full solid day but falls short compared to other devices on the market. Additionally, the dual speakers mean that the call quality is acceptable but disappointingly bland and low fidelity.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is an incredible phone with improved design, lightning-fast performance, and a brilliant camera system.
