Aston Martin AM-RB 003 and Vanquish Vision Concept revealed _ Geneva Motor Show 2019 _ Autocar

Aston Martin's latest concept car, the Vanquish EVO, is set to revolutionize the luxury sports car market with its cutting-edge technology and sleek design. While we can't see out the back of the car, the interior offers an extraordinary driving environment that will appeal to enthusiasts and collectors alike.

One of the most striking features of the Vanquish EVO is its aerodynamic design. Much of the car's aerodynamics happens underneath it, but unlike some other Aston Martin models like the Valkyrie, which can be viewed from front to back, the Vanquish EVO has a more subtle approach to showcasing its capabilities. This is partly due to the fact that the battery pack will likely sit underneath the floor, alongside a hybridized version of Aston's 3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

As you move further back into the car, you'll notice that the doors swing up in a dihedral II style rather than the more dramatic gullwing design seen on the Valkyrie. This makes it easier to get in and out of the car, while also providing a more practical approach to interior design. Behind the doors lies an area where the engine, gearbox, and hybridization will sit, with a camera system taking center stage instead.

However, one of the most exciting aspects of the Vanquish EVO is its aerospace-inspired technology. The carbon-fiber spoiler at the rear of the car features actuators that move it into position, creating an incredibly clever solution to aerodynamics. This attention to detail is characteristic of Aston Martin's commitment to innovation and performance.

Despite being only two years away from production, the Vanquish EVO already offers a tantalizing glimpse into what's to come. With its unique blend of style and technology, it's clear that this car will be a game-changer in the world of luxury sports cars. One of the most significant features of the Vanquish EVO is its hybrid powertrain, which will provide a more efficient and environmentally friendly option for drivers.

The interior of the Vanquish EVO is where things really get interesting. With a focus on minimalism and practicality, the car's designers have opted for a more understated approach to design, with individual vents and features integrated seamlessly into the overall design language. A fixed H-point allows for an adjustable driving position, while the pedals and wheel move to accommodate the driver, creating a truly bespoke experience.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the Vanquish EVO is its infotainment system, which will likely be integrated into a large chunk in the middle of the car. Aston Martin is currently exploring the possibility of using smartphone-based systems, allowing drivers to access all their connectivity needs through their device rather than relying on a separate interface.

The Vanquish EVO is more than just a concept car - it's a symbol of Aston Martin's second-century plan, which aims to replace one model every year, ensuring that the company stays at the forefront of innovation and design. As such, it will sit at the top of the range, competing with other high-performance sports cars like Ferraris and McLarens.

At its heart lies an engine of unspecified capacity and power, but we can expect a hybrid powertrain and rear-wheel drive capability. The design cues from the Valkyrie are evident in the front handling lines, expressive haunches, and lip at the back, while the chrome strip around the rear adds a touch of Aston Martin's signature flair.

The Vanquish EVO is set to hit the roads in just three years' time, bringing with it an exciting new chapter for Aston Martin. As one of the company's most significant models, it promises to deliver an unparalleled driving experience and a showcase of innovation that will leave onlookers in awe. With its aerospace-inspired technology, hybrid powertrain, and stunning design language, the Vanquish EVO is sure to be one of the most talked-about cars of the decade.

very exclusive 500 will be made very expensive we think about a million pass but we're not entirely sure yet why does it sit between the Valkyrie and the rest of the range well because Aston Martin is not just launching one new mid-engine car at Geneva it is launching two there is the vision vanquish concept a production car unlimited series production car that'll arrive in 2022 all right let's start with the double O 3 because it's where I am and I start the front because that's also around you may notice this badge is not a fixed badge it is a CH because that saves weight and this car is predominantly about track performance as much as anything else so when you look at its design it is not as pleasingly perhaps styled as the Vanquish because it is about going rather quickly there events at the front you can see quite a long way underneath the car a lot of this cars aerodynamics happens underneath it but you can't see from front to back like you could on a Valkyrie there's a reason for that one of the reasons is because although Aston is still deciding where exactly to put the batteries the chances are some will go underneath the floor this car is a hybrid and as well as the new 3 litre twin-turbocharged v6 being hybridized there is also a hybrid element to the front axle so it is a four-wheel-drive car as you move further back you may notice that the doors swing up kind of dihedral II rather than gullwing fashioned as a Valkyrie that makes it a bit easier to get in and out of we'll come to the interior in a moment behind that this is where that engine and gearbox and hybridization will sit you can't see out the back of it there is a camera system that does work instead and underneath there is Aston Martin's first aston designed aston engineered aston built engine since quite a long time ago and finally you come right at the back to a carbon-fiber spoiler so the wing doesn't actually lift up itself there are actuators within the carbon fiber wing itself so it moves it's incredibly clever aerospace technology now this cars about two years from production but it does have a slightly representative interior so let's have a look inside so welcome to the interior there is so much to tell you about in here it is extraordinary so I'm sitting in a leg-up driving position a bit like the Valkyrie I think to that extent but there's more room in here there's more shoulder room there's more elbow room there's more Headroom and that's allowed because it's not a car that is trying to hit that thousand kilogram curb weight of the Valkyrie but there are similarities to keep the cockpit narrowed frontal area is really key to performance so instead of my view out being ended by the a pillars the pillars come halfway down and actually this I get a brilliant view I think in terms of placing the car on the road or Maloney on a track that will be really quite cool there is a fixed H point so I'm just I'm saying right here but me the seat back does go upright and the pedals and wheel will come to me rather than me going to them and the general interior ambulance is extraordinary really extraordinary Austin says hi Riley it wouldn't be appropriate if there was lashings of wood and leather and a car like this is that it's it's a much more minimal thing and instead of having individual vents plopped here and there you get this real big sweeping swage of 3d printed carbon all around the outside and the loudspeakers for the stereo and the vents will be filtered into that finally then what do you do with all of the infotainment system that would sit on a big chunk in the middle of the car well it's still to be decided and Aston is having these conversations with customers and stakeholders and I think the corporate speak given that your smartphone does so much of this stuff anyway why not just put everything through that rather than have a big bank of panels that will become redundant in a couple of years anyway it's a fabulous driving environment it's just like now Aston before but it makes absolute perfect sense and this then is the Vanquish envision concept this is not a limited run a production car this is the car that sits at the top of Aston Martin's seven strong range this complete effectively Aston Martin's second century plan and the idea is you have seven models and you replace one every single year and montes finished you start again this sits at the top of the sporty range it will go up against whatever Ferraris for a tape replacement is called and whatever the McLaren 720s has become by that point the engine is in the middle it is this v6 twin turbocharged car of unspecified capacity and unspecified power we don't have a huge amount of details on it so far I can tell you it will we hybridize it will be rear-wheel drive but as befits a car that fits in with a regular range so some of the design cues you will be slightly familiar with already such as this trip that that sort of blends the front handling as these expressive haunches that you might remember from the current vanquish s as well as the lip at the back and the big chrome strip around the rear hard to imagine really when you've seen Astin's of the last 20 30 50 years that this car will be on the road in just three years time so we'll have loads more on these cars but loads more from the Geneva Motor Show
