How to Return to Stock on the HTC Droid Incredible 2

Before you begin this process, it's essential to have previously rooted your phone and also have ADB installed. If you haven't set up ADB yet, you can head over to our guides and we'll have you set up in no time.

To start, you need to download the stock ROM file. Once it's done downloading, place it on your desktop. Next, plug the phone in with the USB cable and select disk drive. Wait for the download to complete, then place the file on the root of your SD card. Make sure not to put it in any other files or folders.

Now, power your phone off and reboot into fastboot mode. To do this, hold down the volume down button and the power button at the same time. Once the phone powers into fastboot mode, it should automatically recognize the file that you placed on your SD card and load it right now. When the download is complete, it will ask you to update it.

To start the update, hit the volume up button and wait for it to be finished. When the phone is done updating, reboot by simply pressing power and waiting for it to reboot after the phone reboots. Next, download the unroot package and place it on your desktop once the download's complete.

Extract the contents of the zip file into your ADB SDK tools folder. Extract them to your desktop, then copy them and paste them into your ADB tools folder. Now, open up a command prompt window by going to your start menu typing in CMD in the search field hit enter. The command prompt window will display once it's displayed.

Now that you're in the command prompt window, go into your ADB tools directory. Type the following commands out hitting enter after each line. When you do that, the output should be very similar to what you see here. The next portion we're going to run is the PS neuter program. This will give us temporary root access to flash the stock hboot.

The final step before verifying that you're back to 100 stock is running the PS neuter program by following the commands that you see here. When you do, the output should be identical to this screen. To verify that you're back to 100 stock, boot back into fastboot mode now at the top it should say "ship s on" as opposed to before where it said "ship s off\n".
