Living with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio [750 Mile Road-trip]

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio: A Driving Experience Like No Other

As I stepped into the driver's seat of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The car's sound system was blasting away, and I felt like I was in a war zone with every gear shift. The manual box setting on which sounds great and I'm gonna put it into manual gear change selection drop it down into second and straightaway it's like having a rifle bulb go off behind you when you got up and open bin a road. The attraction honestly the traction this thing generates is quite astounding.

It's got such a nice feel through the corner, Hasen I just don't understand how the Alfa engineers have made a big hi pretty heavy vehicle like this handle and just dynamically feels so capable it's incredible and honestly it's one of the best driving cars I've driven on Patrick but it's just brilliant. The car's dynamics are just so impressive, it's like a symphony of acceleration and deceleration that gets your adrenaline pumping. The brakes on this are great, this is got steel discs I had have carbon ceramics and this brake by wire system they got with the carbon ceramics for me oh dear we're at the petrol video club just basically made it and that feel so great.

So, in this manual box it will bounce off the limiter if you're not careful it's just flashbang game and you can get on the throttle really early and pull yourself out of the corner connected every time you up shifting on this massive bang coming out the back of the car. This car is just an epic car in every way shape or form, it's just brilliant and you just gonna drop it back into into dynamic mode and just have a chat it is brilliant. However, this car has got one reasonably big challenge for me in terms of ownership remember the title this video living with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

I could live with that performance day-in day-out it's brilliant you just end up putting it in race mode all the time which is pretty much what I've done. However, there is one drive mode in here we haven't talked about and that is the "A" mode, which is kind of like the economy mode. And, I have to say, I've been putting it in the "A" mode far far more than I thought I would because this car has an addiction it is addicted to super unleaded country in a big big way. But, now I've done seven hundred and sixty two miles and my average mpg is 17 of mpg and that is a mix of lots of different types of motoring and quite a lot of it has been a bit Yahoo but what I did do I did do nearly 80 mile economy run just to see how much I could eke out of the car.

I put it into "A" mode stuck it on the motorway at 70 miles an hour adaptive cruise control, I accelerated gently and I just got 26 just a bit more than 26 miles per gallon. And, therefore, if you have a 20 left eye when it comes to miles per gallon and economy this is not the car for you if you don't care about that or you just want to run it at the weekend and therefore it doesn't really matter so much every day of the week. This car just ticks every single box oh so what are my final impressions of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio?

Well, the smile on my face probably says it all honestly one of the best all-round cars I've driven really really good howling really good stellar performance hugely practical beautiful to look at beautiful build quality choice of materials superb. There are a few things that I would struggle to live with the fuel economy being the number one but then you don't buy a car you know it doesn't you can't possibly get an SUV to perform like this without having to suck some juice when I took it to v-max I managed to do over a hundred and sixty miles an hour and the nor 260 time was absolutely sensational so to be able to experience the full envelope of performance in the car has been a very very special thing. So, I have to say, a huge thank you to Alfa Romeo UK for lending me the car for nearly two weeks letting me run it at v-max which is very special and yeah just really really impressive car.

It was just what I thought it would be, it has all of the julia performance just with that extra element of grip with a four-wheel drive and I have to say if if Alfa Romeo made a four-wheel drive Stelvio Quadrifoglio that thing would be unbeatable absolutely unbeatable really brilliant car. I hope you've enjoyed this if you have done so please give me a thumbs up, comments below are always welcome, and if you haven't done so already please subscribe to Petrol Pet for plenty more content to come.

And finally, as I'm about to leave the Stelvio Quadrifoglio behind, I just want to say that it's been an absolute pleasure driving this car. The experience is like nothing else on the market right now, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves cars.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso thanks to our for a mayo UK I've been really lucky to have had this beautiful stell vo Quadrifoglio as my daily for very nearly two weeks I've done about 750 miles and I've learned an awful lot about this car so this video is really my take on living with the stell vo Quadrifoglio the plan had been to film a lot during my time with it but just didn't have the opportunity so I want to summarize all the things I've learned about this car in this video and I think the first place to start is on the outside and just talk about the way this car looks because it certainly draws attention I think it looks absolutely beautiful now I know many Alfa Romeo fans out there will probably be saying it's got to be red if it's an Alfa Romeo but I have to say I love this blue colour and when you kind of come around this side and you look at that alloys there the wheels and the yellow calipers just make this car look really really special so the stell vo is Alfa Romeos SUV but this one has something very special under the bonnet and that's given away by these beautiful little Quadrifoglio badges on the wings so the engine and if you like a lot of this car bares a huge amount of similarity to the Giulia Quadrifoglio I drove very recently it's got a 2.9 liter v6 510 horsepower about 600 Newton meter so a hugely hugely powerful car but it's an SUV however one of the things I found out very very quickly about this car is it really doesn't drive like one at all and the most important thing is this is four-wheel drive whereas the Giulia is only rear-wheel drive great amounts of fun but pretty hairy at times this thing you don't have any problems with that but what a stunning stunning looking car it's not a jump in the driver's seat and I'll tell you more about what I found out about some of the tech inside and just generally living with this car now this is a press car and pressed cars are often SPECT really beautifully and this is no exception to the rule there is so much carbon fiber detailing in this car and this has got to be the first steering wheel where I've got Alcantara leather carbon fiber and brushed aluminium oh and a little bit of plastic all in one it's such a special place to look at let's have a chat about these seats though first so this has the optional extra carbon backed Sparco seats and they are I mean they look amazing from the back I think the best view is from the backseat cause I've got this beautiful carbon back all the detailing on the sides a carbon now they are pretty firm but very very supportive and when I first got it took me a little bit of a while to kind of get the the right angle to get comfortable and honestly if I was buying this car to do lots and lots of miles in I probably wouldn't opt for these seats I think I'd go for the kind of standard seats and they were interesting when I took this car to v-max there was a redstone vo there with the standard seats they still look beautiful and they just looked far far more comfortable that said I've done some long journeys in this I think the longest journey I did it was about three and a half hours and I didn't get a number and and it's fine but I think if you wanted that ultimate comfort you might not opt for these seats plus you could save yourself a little bit of money to the infotainment system the it's all controlled by a little jog wheel down here it's relatively intuitive and easy to use the satellite navigation I found to be pretty good it routed me around a couple of problems there were some new roads that weren't on there which I found a bit unusual especially up near with this being such a new car but apart from that sat-nav seemed to work work okay stereo in this car I've got the Harman Kardon stereo absolutely brilliant thing and although I would like something like apple carplay or Android auto to kind of just lift it a little bit but otherwise comfy driving position nice tech beautiful place to be what's it like in the back low although I have to say I didn't sit in the back but this is a big car plenty of space in the back so let's jump in the back seats and have a look at the passenger's view shall we usual six-foot-three gangly paired in the back of the car and the best thing about sitting right here is you've got this beautiful carbon back seats they are brilliant things now my seat is all the way back and I've got a reasonable amount of legroom I would like the seat board maybe an inch or two but other than that it's fine these things are pretty comfortable isofix a standard easily room for three adults you could probably get another adult in the middle no problem at all so yeah in the back plenty of headroom and what I do love about this car as well which I would definitely spec not only because it's great if you're a youtuber for placing cameras but the panoramic glass roof really does give the cabin an airy feel and I like that a lot question is how big is the boot and can you get two dogs in it let's go and have a look can you get two dogs in the boot you know what's coming I get this request it's so often and she's grown there they are the petrol pup and the petrol pooch oh Darcy's going on there so this boot is huge absolutely huge I went away with loads of stuff had all my racing gear and plenty of room it's got a nice Sun blind that comes over the top so you can kind of hide stuff away and it really really practical if you drop the seats down it's an SUV there are is acres and acres of space in here so you could easily get two proper sized dogs in as well as two small ones but we had to get you on a reviewed and we help you out or help me out on a review so I just need to take this car down the road because beautiful it is from the outside stunning even spec and beautiful on the inside super practical this car is all about the driving and believe me the driving is pretty special so first things first let's just warm the car up and talk a little bit about the basic kind of driving feel of the car driving position you are in an SUV so it is an elevated driving position quite interesting that you can drop these seats quite low so you actually feel quite low down in the car and that gives it a really interesting mix between the kind of SUV ride height but saloon car feel and that actually translates across much of how this car feels to drive the gearbox is super if you want a nice relaxing Drive you just sticky and drive and let it do everything for you but as soon as you want to kind of have a little bit more sort of a special Drive if you want to push on a little bit more then you go to these superb big manual paddles they are a bit bigger one of the things I do notice they are quite close to the steering wheel so sometimes you kind of when you want to get hold of the indicator store you kind of clasp your hands with the gear shift paddles but but they are very cool and the rest of the driving position is is really lovely now it's not all roses in here there are a few things that I'm not that keen on and the first one might surprise you and that is the size of the door mirrors they are huge and I kind of know this probably some regulation that says how big they need to be but they are that big that they actually obscure your view especially in low speed corners t-junctions mini roundabouts those types of things entry to car parks when you've got tight title tight corner and maybe curbs and things because these wheels are very curved able and honestly sometimes I find those mirrors just obscure your view a little bit on a faster flowing corner it's not so bad but a tight slow speed stuff the mirrors get in the way from me so got the alpha DNA system I've started off in N and for normal driving I guess that's what you do now interestingly when I normally get in a in a press car especially or on test drive I stick it straight up into the max of a mode you can so if you just rotate this little dial you go up into dynamic mode things get a little bit sharper I won't push on quite yet because the engines not quite up to temperature but what you also get once you go into dynamic mode is the ability to change the damper softening so your little button on top and I can just put a slightly softer dampener on there and I really like that it just softens things up makes it far far more smooth perfect for kind of British B roads once you're in D mode it starts to kind of it's a kind of wolf in sheep's clothing this car kind of starts to really make better noises and so on now when I had the Julia Quadrifoglio D mode was your friend it was the mode that you drove in most of the time because all the traction control and stability management systems are on and in that car rear wheel drive with over 500 horsepower boy did you need it we pitched the car into this corner this is where it starts to just bend the laws of physics I'm not going that fast at the moment but it just does not feel or drive like an SUV and I've proven quite a few believe me it just has this mega mech feel to it love it we're now in drive both the engines warm I'm going to drop the paddle selector into full manual drop it down a couple of years and we're gonna start in dynamic mode so the first the first thing you will get from the back of this car is the loudest party noise of any car I've given this thing sound mega and we thought in noisy mode yeah but the the top and the pole you get out of the corners is just staggering and because you've got four-wheel drive I mean we've got a beautiful beautiful day today's try as Arbonne out there loads of grip but even in wet conditions I've driven this car in some pretty damp conditions this week it's just got so so much really gives you massive amounts of confidence it doesn't drive like an SUV SUV should not be able to do this you know it the SUVs have old units to get in them and they can wallow around the corners like big ships this thing it's like a kind of one of those speed boats that kind of goes around the corner completely flat and just brilliant thing absolutely brilliant thing and that's in dynamic mode so there's only only one thing for it muddies to put it up into race mode now in the Julia you had to be reasonably cautious when you put it in race mode on a dry day it wasn't too bad to be fair you had to dive like a complete idiot and to get yourself into trouble but if it was damp or cold in race mode with all the stability systems turned off that Julia was quite a handful actually but not in this you end up driving in race mode all the time okay let's do race mode you have to basically hold the little rotator into race mode that's that straightaway the exhaust starts to make a more shouting oice what I've also been doing is putting the mid damper setting on which sounds great and I'm gonna put it into manual gear change selection drop it down into second and straightaway it's like having a rifle bulb go off behind you when you got up and open bin a road the attraction honestly the traction this thing generates is quite astounding it's got such a nice feel through the corner Hasen I just don't understand how the this beautiful stell vo Quadrifoglio as my daily for very nearly two weeks I've done about 750 miles and I've learned an awful lot about this car so this video is really my take on living with the stell vo Quadrifoglio the plan had been to film a lot during my time with it but just didn't have the opportunity so I want to summarize all the things I've learned about this car in this video and I think the first place to start is on the outside and just talk about the way this car looks because it certainly draws attention I think it looks absolutely beautiful now I know many Alfa Romeo fans out there will probably be saying it's got to be red if it's an Alfa Romeo but I have to say I love this blue colour and when you kind of come around this side and you look at that alloys there the wheels and the yellow calipers just make this car look really really special so the stell vo is Alfa Romeos SUV but this one has something very special under the bonnet and that's given away by these beautiful little Quadrifoglio badges on the wings so the engine and if you like a lot of this car bares a huge amount of similarity to the Giulia Quadrifoglio I drove very recently it's got a 2.9 liter v6 510 horsepower about 600 Newton meter so a hugely hugely powerful car but it's an SUV however one of the things I found out very very quickly about this car is it really doesn't drive like one at all and the most important thing is this is four-wheel drive whereas the Giulia is only rear-wheel drive great amounts of fun but pretty hairy at times this thing you don't have any problems with that but what a stunning stunning looking car it's not a jump in the driver's seat and I'll tell you more about what I found out about some of the tech inside and just generally living with this car now this is a press car and pressed cars are often SPECT really beautifully and this is no exception to the rule there is so much carbon fiber detailing in this car and this has got to be the first steering wheel where I've got Alcantara leather carbon fiber and brushed aluminium oh and a little bit of plastic all in one it's such a special place to look at let's have a chat about these seats though first so this has the optional extra carbon backed Sparco seats and they are I mean they look amazing from the back I think the best view is from the backseat cause I've got this beautiful carbon back all the detailing on the sides a carbon now they are pretty firm but very very supportive and when I first got it took me a little bit of a while to kind of get the the right angle to get comfortable and honestly if I was buying this car to do lots and lots of miles in I probably wouldn't opt for these seats I think I'd go for the kind of standard seats and they were interesting when I took this car to v-max there was a redstone vo there with the standard seats they still look beautiful and they just looked far far more comfortable that said I've done some long journeys in this I think the longest journey I did it was about three and a half hours and I didn't get a number and and it's fine but I think if you wanted that ultimate comfort you might not opt for these seats plus you could save yourself a little bit of money to the infotainment system the it's all controlled by a little jog wheel down here it's relatively intuitive and easy to use the satellite navigation I found to be pretty good it routed me around a couple of problems there were some new roads that weren't on there which I found a bit unusual especially up near with this being such a new car but apart from that sat-nav seemed to work work okay stereo in this car I've got the Harman Kardon stereo absolutely brilliant thing and although I would like something like apple carplay or Android auto to kind of just lift it a little bit but otherwise comfy driving position nice tech beautiful place to be what's it like in the back low although I have to say I didn't sit in the back but this is a big car plenty of space in the back so let's jump in the back seats and have a look at the passenger's view shall we usual six-foot-three gangly paired in the back of the car and the best thing about sitting right here is you've got this beautiful carbon back seats they are brilliant things now my seat is all the way back and I've got a reasonable amount of legroom I would like the seat board maybe an inch or two but other than that it's fine these things are pretty comfortable isofix a standard easily room for three adults you could probably get another adult in the middle no problem at all so yeah in the back plenty of headroom and what I do love about this car as well which I would definitely spec not only because it's great if you're a youtuber for placing cameras but the panoramic glass roof really does give the cabin an airy feel and I like that a lot question is how big is the boot and can you get two dogs in it let's go and have a look can you get two dogs in the boot you know what's coming I get this request it's so often and she's grown there they are the petrol pup and the petrol pooch oh Darcy's going on there so this boot is huge absolutely huge I went away with loads of stuff had all my racing gear and plenty of room it's got a nice Sun blind that comes over the top so you can kind of hide stuff away and it really really practical if you drop the seats down it's an SUV there are is acres and acres of space in here so you could easily get two proper sized dogs in as well as two small ones but we had to get you on a reviewed and we help you out or help me out on a review so I just need to take this car down the road because beautiful it is from the outside stunning even spec and beautiful on the inside super practical this car is all about the driving and believe me the driving is pretty special so first things first let's just warm the car up and talk a little bit about the basic kind of driving feel of the car driving position you are in an SUV so it is an elevated driving position quite interesting that you can drop these seats quite low so you actually feel quite low down in the car and that gives it a really interesting mix between the kind of SUV ride height but saloon car feel and that actually translates across much of how this car feels to drive the gearbox is super if you want a nice relaxing Drive you just sticky and drive and let it do everything for you but as soon as you want to kind of have a little bit more sort of a special Drive if you want to push on a little bit more then you go to these superb big manual paddles they are a bit bigger one of the things I do notice they are quite close to the steering wheel so sometimes you kind of when you want to get hold of the indicator store you kind of clasp your hands with the gear shift paddles but but they are very cool and the rest of the driving position is is really lovely now it's not all roses in here there are a few things that I'm not that keen on and the first one might surprise you and that is the size of the door mirrors they are huge and I kind of know this probably some regulation that says how big they need to be but they are that big that they actually obscure your view especially in low speed corners t-junctions mini roundabouts those types of things entry to car parks when you've got tight title tight corner and maybe curbs and things because these wheels are very curved able and honestly sometimes I find those mirrors just obscure your view a little bit on a faster flowing corner it's not so bad but a tight slow speed stuff the mirrors get in the way from me so got the alpha DNA system I've started off in N and for normal driving I guess that's what you do now interestingly when I normally get in a in a press car especially or on test drive I stick it straight up into the max of a mode you can so if you just rotate this little dial you go up into dynamic mode things get a little bit sharper I won't push on quite yet because the engines not quite up to temperature but what you also get once you go into dynamic mode is the ability to change the damper softening so your little button on top and I can just put a slightly softer dampener on there and I really like that it just softens things up makes it far far more smooth perfect for kind of British B roads once you're in D mode it starts to kind of it's a kind of wolf in sheep's clothing this car kind of starts to really make better noises and so on now when I had the Julia Quadrifoglio D mode was your friend it was the mode that you drove in most of the time because all the traction control and stability management systems are on and in that car rear wheel drive with over 500 horsepower boy did you need it we pitched the car into this corner this is where it starts to just bend the laws of physics I'm not going that fast at the moment but it just does not feel or drive like an SUV and I've proven quite a few believe me it just has this mega mech feel to it love it we're now in drive both the engines warm I'm going to drop the paddle selector into full manual drop it down a couple of years and we're gonna start in dynamic mode so the first the first thing you will get from the back of this car is the loudest party noise of any car I've given this thing sound mega and we thought in noisy mode yeah but the the top and the pole you get out of the corners is just staggering and because you've got four-wheel drive I mean we've got a beautiful beautiful day today's try as Arbonne out there loads of grip but even in wet conditions I've driven this car in some pretty damp conditions this week it's just got so so much really gives you massive amounts of confidence it doesn't drive like an SUV SUV should not be able to do this you know it the SUVs have old units to get in them and they can wallow around the corners like big ships this thing it's like a kind of one of those speed boats that kind of goes around the corner completely flat and just brilliant thing absolutely brilliant thing and that's in dynamic mode so there's only only one thing for it muddies to put it up into race mode now in the Julia you had to be reasonably cautious when you put it in race mode on a dry day it wasn't too bad to be fair you had to dive like a complete idiot and to get yourself into trouble but if it was damp or cold in race mode with all the stability systems turned off that Julia was quite a handful actually but not in this you end up driving in race mode all the time okay let's do race mode you have to basically hold the little rotator into race mode that's that straightaway the exhaust starts to make a more shouting oice what I've also been doing is putting the mid damper setting on which sounds great and I'm gonna put it into manual gear change selection drop it down into second and straightaway it's like having a rifle bulb go off behind you when you got up and open bin a road the attraction honestly the traction this thing generates is quite astounding it's got such a nice feel through the corner Hasen I just don't understand how the Alfa engineers have made a big hi pretty heavy vehicle like this handle and just dynamically feels so capable it's incredible and honestly it's one of the best driving cars I driven on Patrick but it's just brilliant it sounds amazing it's got buckets attraction the brakes on this are great this is got steals the junior I had have carbon ceramics and this brake by wire system they got with the carbon ceramics for me oh dear we're at the petrol video club just basically made it and that feel so great so that's so there you go I wanted to do that so in this manual box it will bounce off the limiter if you're not careful it's just flashbang game and you can get on the throttle really early and pull yourself out of the corner connected every time you up shifting on this massive bang coming out the back of the car this car is just an epic epic car in every way shape or form it's just brilliant and you just gonna drop it back into into dynamic mode and just have a chat it is brilliant however this car has got one reasonably big challenge for me in terms of ownership remember the title this video living with the Alfa Romeo scale via Quadrifoglio I could live with that performance day-in day-out it's brilliant you just end up putting it in race mode all the time which is pretty much what I've done however there is one drive mode in here we haven't talked about and that is a which is kind of like the economy mode and I have to say I've been putting it in the a mode far far more than I thought I would because this car has an addiction it is addicted to super unleaded country in a big big way but now I've done seven hundred and sixty two miles and my average mpg is 17 of mpg and that is a mix of lots of different types of motoring and quite a lot of it has been a bit Yahoo but what I did do I did do nearly 80 mile economy run just to see how much I could eke out of the car I put it into a mode I stuck it on the motorway at 70 miles an hour adaptive cruise control I accelerated gently and I just got 26 just a bit more than 26 miles per gallon and and therefore if you have a 20 left eye when it comes to miles per gallon and economy this is not the car for you if you don't care about that or you just want to run it at the weekend and therefore it doesn't really matter so much every day of the week this car just ticks every single box oh so what are my final impressions of the Alfa Romeo stell vo Quadrifoglio well the smile on my face probably says it all honestly one of the best all-round cars are I've driven really really good howling really good stellar performance hugely practical beautiful to look at beautiful build quality choice of materials superb there are a few things that I would struggle to live with the fuel economy being the number one but then you don't buy a car you know it doesn't you can't possibly get an SUV to perform like this without having to suck some juice when I took it to v-max I managed to do over a hundred and sixty miles an hour and it the nor 260 time was absolutely sensational so to be able to experience the full envelope of performance in the car has been a very very special thing so I have to say a huge thank you to aphromoo UK for lending me the car for nearly two weeks letting me run it at v-max which is very special and yeah just really really impressive car it was just what I thought it would be it has all of the the julia performance just with that extra element of grip with a four-wheel drive and i have to say if if Alfa Romeo made a four-wheel drive julia Quadrifoglio that thing would be unbeatable absolutely unbeatable really brilliant car I hope you've enjoyed this if you have done so please give me a thumbs up comments below are always welcome and if you haven't done so already please subscribe to petrol pet for plenty more content to come and I'll see on the next film but from the pretty sporty carbon fibre surround luxury that is the Alfa Romeo stell vo Quadrifoglio and watch out pheasant are
