Google Lens: A Revolutionary AR Technology
We are here at the IO dome at Google, where we're checking out some of the latest advancements in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technology. Our focus today is on Google Lens, a cutting-edge feature that's been gaining attention for its potential to revolutionize the way we interact with our surroundings. As we look at Google Lens, we can see that it has undergone significant improvements since its inception.
One of the notable upgrades to Google Lens is its integration into several camera apps of different phones. For instance, the LG G7 ThinQ now allows users to access Google Lens directly within the camera app. This feature is not exclusive to the LG G7, as about 30 phones from 10 different manufacturers will soon be able to access Google Lens straight within their camera apps.
Google Lens is designed to help users identify objects and provide more information about landmarks when they point their camera at them. While this feature has been present in previous versions of Google Lens, the new updates take it to a whole new level. With its enhanced capabilities, Google Lens can now show users results similar to what they're looking at, making it an invaluable tool for shopping and discovery.
One of the most exciting features introduced with the latest update is Style Match. This feature allows users to point their camera at items like clothing or shoes and look for results similar to them. What happens next? Google Lens looks up the item in question and provides users with options to shop for it through Google Shopping. The user can also browse for different types of items that are similar, making it easier to find what they're looking for.
Another innovative feature introduced is Smart Tech Selections. This feature enables users to point their camera at text, identify it, and perform various actions on it. For instance, if the user clicks on a piece of text, Google Lens can start searching for results related to that text. The user can also select all the text, copy it, translate it, store it in notes, or search for it later.
One of the most significant improvements to Google Lens is its ability to perform real-time searches. This feature allows users to search for things as they appear, without having to manually type or navigate through menus. For example, if a user sees something new and wants to learn more about it, Google Lens can quickly provide them with relevant information.
In conclusion, the latest update to Google Lens has significantly improved its capabilities, making it an essential tool for anyone looking to enhance their mobile experience. With its integration into camera apps, advanced features like Style Match, Smart Tech Selections, and real-time search, Google Lens is poised to revolutionize the way we interact with our surroundings.
As we look at Google Lens, it's clear that this technology has the potential to change the way we live, work, and play. With its ability to identify objects, provide information about landmarks, and perform real-time searches, Google Lens is an indispensable tool for anyone looking to stay ahead of the curve. We're excited to see how this technology will continue to evolve in the coming months and years, and we can't wait to explore all the possibilities it has to offer.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eneveryone Julian from Digital Trends we're here in this IO dome at Google and we're checking out some of the AR and VR technology that they have to show right now we're looking at Google lense there's a couple new improvements in Google lens namely the fact that it's now baked into several camera apps of different phones for example the LG G 7 thinkI which recently was announced now you can access google lens right in the camera moto G 2 you can access it right in the camera and there are about 30 ish phones where you can soon access google lens straight within the camera app so let's check out some of those new features that are debuting at i/o at 2018 so traditionally you could access google lens from different phones went right within the assistant but now on this phone for example is the LG G 7 thank you you can see google lens right there built in the camera app and again that's now in about 30 ish phones from 10 different manufacturers so Google lens right now can show you identify objects and even tell you a little more about landmarks when you point the camera at it but now there's a new feature called style match and that basically lets you point the camera at items like clothing or shoes and what happens is it look for results similar to it so you can shop for it through Google shopping so as you can see that that blast right there we can tap on this jump straight into Macy's and there you go the option to visit the site choose sizes and learn a little more about the product as well or you know alternatively if you're not looking for that specific item you can just look for different types of things that are similar that you may want to purchase also a new feature called smart tech selections so what that basically lets you do is point the camera at say this text right here and now you can see that it identified all that text and now say for example if I click on that start looking for results maybe push that down select all of this text and I can copy that translate it as you saw for example if I wanted to store in in my notes or if I wanted to search for it for example I can I can search the entire text right there and it's basically able to copy all of that straight by just looking right at the text and the other feature new with Google ends is you can now search for things in real time really quickly so for example if I'm stopping in there and see that new dot before you don't worry you're only able to sort of pay attention to one subject and sort of stay in that one subject an hour to do multiple things in real time as you can see so that's the new Google lense and that should be rolling out relatively soon to all Android deviceseveryone Julian from Digital Trends we're here in this
