WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enHoly crap! It's Episode 30 of LGR Thrifts! That snuck up on me. Thank you so much for watching over all this time, that's insane! Never thought it would be going on this long but it's awesome. So, I appreciate the support and it's very thoroughly November right now and it's... it's windy and cold. So, let's get inside and go thrifting before I can.
Ooh, that tree is delightfully red! It's almost like it's autumn or something. And inside this first Goodwill of the day I saw this Nintendo Entertainment System for $75, way too much! But it's always kinda nice to see these in the wild. It's like, hey! An old friend! We should catch up sometime but not today, because you're too expensive and I have another one just like you at home.
Over in the records and other assorted musical goods I ran across this one, heh heh, and wow, what a cover! This is The Magic Carpet: Music of the Middle East. Apparently it's from 1958. Yeah, go figure, really now, 1958 with a cover like that? I woulda never guessed.
Oh hey, here's a couch that's kind of intriguing, nice leathery feel to it, a little bit of damage there, but... You know, I don't need a couch, but I just was curious about the price on it. $120 and, oh wait, this is not a couch, it looks like it says \\\

Yeah, go figure, really now, 1958 with a cover like that?I woulda never guessed.Oh hey, here's a couch that's kind of intriguing, nice leathery feel to it, a little bit of damage there, but...You know, I don't need a couch, but I just was curious about the price on it$120 and, oh wait, this is not a couch, it looks like it says \"cooch\".This is a cooch!$200 cooch, it's the biggest cooch I ever saw.Over in the electronics and wires and junkI ran across this little device by AVerMedia.Didn't know this existed back... whenever it did. This is an AVerKey iMicro, it's just aa PC- or Macintosh-to-scanline converter for playing things on your TV.I have other similar devices by other companies.I didn't know that AVerMedia did this at one pointso I thought that was kinda neat,I mean, sort of?Nothing I'd ever use, but whatever. Also thought this was pretty neat, at least just the way it looks. This is a GAF 220, it looks like, a sort of little instant camera. It was only 75 cents.I was almost tempted just because, I don't know, I like the way it looksand that sort of faux-leather kind of going on there. It's just a boxy little retro designand it sort of appealed to me, but the back door's falling offand I don't collect this stuff, but, I don't know, looked intriguing.Over in the puzzles and board games and whatnot and, oh man,That's a HeadGames game right there, Extreme Bullrider.Nope!Already have a boxed copy of this, because of course I do,and, man, I really need to get around to reviewing this sometime and just get it out of the way.And this one is going back right where I found itso someone else can put themselves through that.On to this Goodwill, and it's too cold outside to offer the rock anything,so I'm just gonna step on it.And Christmas crud has well and truly arrived, whee. There's icicles and bells, ding-a-ling-a-ling,candles and other assorted junkand, hehe, a snowman that has really seen some crap.Just look at those eyes!Quite a selection of ugly sweaters as wellalthough they were not nearly as ugly as I hoped for. That's okay, I don't really do the whole ugly sweater thing anyway.Speaking of ugly, check out these things. They're just— they're shells,on, like, candlesticks?I don't even know!Like this one looks like a legit candle holder up top there, but these other ones, they're just shells on top of like a stick!I must not have gotten the memo for this type ofinterior decor.Checking out the puzzles and board games and toys and whatnotlooking for PC games.Didn't find any, but I did run across this. This right here isa Merlin, a little electronic game toy thing from 1978.Been looking for one of these for years, actually, but this one was 10 bucks, it didn't come with anything else, and that's right on the edge of what I would want to pay for one loose,so I passed on this for now, but I still want to get one of these sometime, preferably with a box and manual.Speaking of stuff missing, check out the DVDs and, like, media sections over here.Usually these shelves are full, but there's hardly anything in here. They must have unloaded a ton of junk over at the Goodwill outlets or something. And right around the corner in the random crap section,I found a bit of nostalgia here, at least for me.These are just basic Memorex crappy cassette tapes90 minute, but, that design! That design is burned into my memory.I had a bunch of these as a kid; I'd record my own stuff on therewith the cheap tape recorders. And, yeah, the fact that these were still sealed, they had the whole packing with them, seeing that kind of classic '90s design makes me happy. And just down the way a bit, these salmon-colored chairsjust grabbed my attention in all sorts of ways. Not just because of their kind of hideous look, butthese little swivel tables on them!Ah, that was kind of unusual.I guess they're some sort of theater chairs that—Maybe? But they roll around!I don't really know what these are! They're weird. If anyone knows what they're for, let me know in the comments. One more red tree in front of one more Goodwill, and inside I immediately see thislarge piece of furniture with this sliding door on the topand you know what that probably means. Yes,this is another Magnavox stereo system. It's got a record player, a radio, and an 8-track tape player.I just— I like these things; I would probably never get one, but man, love the design, those buttons, those knobs, and the fact that it's—It's eating 8-tracks! I mean, that is legit! It's huge, it's got electronics in it,and it's pretty much probably broken, but I just like to look at them. This also grabbed my attention, this little wooden dollhouse here.Pretty simple, but I kind of like that.It just sort of sparked my imagination, the possibilities you could do with this.Like, if I were to get this, I would recreate an '80s household in there, just imagine likea tiny little woodgrain TV and a tiny little ugly couch, like wouldn't that be awesome?I like miniature stuff, if you didn't know.Over in the electronics here I noticedthis device just sitting there, and then the Philco and Ford logo! That got my attention. And opening up and, yep, it's kind of what I thought it was at first, just by a brand that I wasn't expecting. This is a little portable record player; it folds out hereand it's made by Philco, but this is during their Ford yearsof manufacture, when Ford bought them out, I think in 1961.I've never actually seen something like this from Philco in person.I'm really only familiar with their classic television sets from the 1950s.So, yeah, I approve. Also much approval of this weird little doohickey. This is cool. This is what I go to Goodwill for, this kind of stuff, this Videonics sound effects mixer with digital audio!Like, it's a sound effects replay thing that has a little ZX-spectrum-likerubber keyboard over thereand it lets you add sound effects to your home movies or whatever you're editing through composite audio. It's actually pretty cool, I thought. And down another shelf is another little retro piece of tech that got my attention, mainly 'cause of its design. This is just your general sort of General Electric tape recorderbut, yeah, I just like the look of it: I like the knobs and this little microphone grille over hereIt felt super cheap, but, I mean, just look at it.Don't you think it's exciting?!On to another Goodwill because I am not satiated yet.Checking out the media section, and this caught my attention, 'cause PlayStation 1.This is Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness, a PS1 game that I did not have. And, you know, I don't really care. It's not like it's anything that I've ever heard great things about. Maybe it's good; I don't know. But then I opened it up and saw this little product catalog and I'm like, okay. It's got this in here; for whatever reason, that just made me think I've gotta have this, so I bought it.Also happened to notice this in here with the VHS tapes:This is a VHS tape, but it's a VHS game,Remote Control Casino Games, and it comes with some chips and everything. You play casino games on your VCR.The chips are falling out, but whatever, look at this!Like, how is this possibly gonna work? You're gonna play through it once and then you know the results of all your bets? This just seemed entirely too bizarre to me, and I want to cover VCR games at some point,so I am buying this.Tossed in with the random junk over in the other side of the store were a few items of interestlike this Casio Digital Diary here. It's 128 kilobytes, mmm, imagine all the stuff you could fit into that.I like the fact that it was complete in the box.Kinda tempting to get it, but I didn't. It's just not really my thing. They did have Monopoly here, and this is the CD-ROM edition by Westwood Studios, yes, the Command and Conquer people. This is actually a pretty cool version of Monopoly, but I already own it.I didn't own this, though. This is Pictionary for the PC.\"It's A Lot More Than Drawing!\"Like yelling at your friends when they're awful at drawing, it's that too.I'd never heard of this; I didn't even know this was a thing, so I mean I had to get it.Plus it's in a big box that's in good shape, and, yeah, that's, like, my fetish.Checking out the electronics and, oh, this got my attention immediately! This is a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback steering wheel. And it comes with Monster Truck Madness 2 and Precision Racing, both of which are pretty cool games from back in the late '90s and, yeah,I just have lots of memories playing with this thing and drooling over it back in the day in computer stores and stuff.Always wanted one, and instead I got an Interact V3, which is a piece of crap! But I'm not going to get it right now; 20 bucks is a bit much,so I'm gonna let it sit and come back later, see if it goes down. And just around the corner, holy crap! Okay, check this. This is an Apple QuickTake 100 digital camera from 1993.It is complete in the box!The stuff in there looked brand new, like somebody had just opened it here at Goodwill. This is not only desirable as an Apple product, but just becauseit is one of the earliest consumer digital cameras on the market.I would love to do a video on this at some point if I maybe cover some weird digital cameras.I've got a few and, yes, this is now my friend.35 bucks is actually a good price for one of these. One sold on Ebay for $80 in the box recently. And one more stop, because I was in the area and hadn't been here in a while. This is the Rescue Mission Thrift Store, andit's mostly just a bunch of stuff I'm not interested in,a lot of glassware and books and clothes, but occasionally there's some interesting stuff, too.And there was some PC stuff here in big boxes,a Window Washer,Matchbox Construction Zone,House Beautiful something-or-other 3D Interior Designerand a Better Homes and Gardens painter program, all of which were actually kind of interesting to me, andthis is the only one that I ended up grabbing here, though. This is the Construction Zone thing from Matchbox.Still sealed, the box is a little caved in in the back, but I should be able to get that back into shape. Also, check these out, man. These Panasonic speakers, they looked awesome! That old Panasonic logo, the swivel base and everything, kind of a '70s look going on. I'm not really sure when they're from, maybe the '60s.Didn't get 'em, don't need 'em, but dang it they look cool. And not really much of anything over in the CDs and audioand, you know, DVDs, media and whatnot, I don't know, I mean sometimes there's things in hereso I gave it a quick glance but I never really expect to find anything, 'causeat usually this store I completely strike out.But then, on the way out, look at this! Those are Atari Jaguar carts, just sitting there!$3.99 each.So of course I grabbed every single one of 'em! I don't own any Jag carts. And then the guy at the checkout counter was like, \"Dude I got some more Atari stuff in the back; I haven't priced it yet.\"So he brings out this Atari Vader system, which I already have, don't need it, but then, holy crap, an Atari VCS! This is a six-switch model in here, not a Heavy Sixer but a Light Sixerand, yeah, I'm definitely getting this, just for the box!I asked him how much and he said, \"I dunno, 10 bucks?\"Yes!!And here are the Jaguar games I got: Wolfenstein 3D,Raiden,Something-or-other Skiing and Snowboarding,Kasumi NinjaAlien vs Predator, freakin' Doom,Theme Park,Cybermorph, and Brutal Sports Football,$3.99 each, yeah, that is an absolute steal for Jaguar carts. And that is all for Episode 30 of LGR Thrifts, and man, this turned out to be quite a cool little haulmainly by going to that Rescue Mission thrift store on a whim!Ran across a freakin' Atari VCS, a 2600, complete in the box,an Apple QuickTake 100 digital camera,VCR Casino Game, Matchbox Construction Zone,Pictionary for the PC, Ms. Pac-Man PS1 game, and nine(!) Atari Jaguar cartridgesfor $3.99 eachand did I mention the Atari 2600 was $9.99, yeah. This is really such a good deal.I paid a little bit more for that QuickTake 100 camera than maybe I would have liked, butseriously that is still a good deal for one that is complete in the box.I'm happy with this stuff. It's my kind of stuff, of course I'm happy. That's what makes me me.And what makes you you? Well, apparently, a lot of this stuff. Here are your finds that you have sent in to me since the previous episode of Thrifts. All sorts of awesome stuff, and so keep on sending me theseand, again, thank you for all the support over 30 episodes of LGR Thrifts.Let's keep this goingeven though I don't know how winter is going to treat me, because that's a little iffy sometimes. But, yeah, that is all for now.Thank you very much for watching!\n"
