How to Make Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

Today on the Stay at Home Chef, I'm showing you how to make Hawaiian sweet rolls. I've taken my recipe for the best homemade dinner rolls ever and altered it just a little bit to make the perfect Hawaiian sweet rolls. These are soft, sweet, delicious, and absolutely easy to make.

To start making these delicious treats, we're going to begin with a third of a cup of warmed milk. Pour that in here along with one egg, a tablespoon of instant yeast, two-thirds of a cup of crushed pineapple, and a quarter cup of brown sugar. I just measured that pineapple with the juices and everything from the can. It's very important to use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. We're also going to add four tablespoons of softened butter. Maybe I should check my head up here real quick to make sure everything is in order.

Last but not least, we need three cups of all-purpose flour. This is a crucial step in making our Hawaiian sweet rolls. After adding all the ingredients together, we'll get our stand mixer going and mix until we can see the dough pulling away from the sides of the bowl. You want to have a nice dough ball forming once the sides of the bowl are cleaned. Now, let's transfer this delicious mixture to a lightly greased bowl. I should turn it over so the grease coats the top too. Cover it with a towel and let it rise until it's double in size, which will take about 90 minutes give or take a little bit depending on the temperature of your house.

After our dough has risen, pinch off a little bit of it. I like to weigh mine on a kitchen scale to make sure they're all the same size at 2.5 ounces. Now, let's roll them using a cutting shape with my hand and roll them until we get a nice round ball. Then, place them into a lightly greased 9 by 13 pan. Keep going until you've used all your dough this should be enough to make 12 rolls.

Cover it with a towel and let it rise again until double in size, which will take about another hour after an hour. We're almost there! Now that our dough has risen one more time, we're ready to bake these delicious Hawaiian sweet rolls in a 375-degree oven for about 12 to 15 minutes until the tops are golden brown.

Once they come out of the oven, you can finish them off by brushing them with one tablespoon of melted butter. And that's it! You've successfully made homemade Hawaiian sweet rolls. These treats are perfect for any occasion, whether it's a special event or just a quick snack. I hope you enjoy making and eating these delicious pastries as much as I do.
