Feature Walk-Through and Testing of the New Google Pixel Buds

Setting Up Your New Pixel Buds from Google

As we begin to set up our new Pixel Buds from Google, it's clear that these earbuds are designed to provide an excellent listening experience. To get started, let's drop in the Pixel Buds into their charging case and see how they perform. The case has a sleek design and can be easily carried around with you. We'll find out if the Pixel Buds can maintain a strong connection with the case.

As we proceed to pair our earbuds with our device, we notice that the music continues to play without any interruptions. The earbuds are magnetized and stay in place securely within the case. With the Pixel Buds, you can see detailed information about your battery life on your phone screen. This feature provides peace of mind, allowing you to track how much power is left in both the earbuds and the case.

Moving forward, we'll explore some of the advanced features that the Pixel Buds have to offer. One of these features is touch control, which allows you to navigate through various functions with ease. If you can't remember any specific controls, there's an option to access all the information on your screen. When this feature is enabled, it provides detailed instructions on how to use the earbuds effectively.

The Pixel Buds also offer adaptive sound, which automatically adjusts the volume based on the environment around you. This means that if you're in a loud place like the gym, the earbuds will increase in volume accordingly. On the other hand, if you move into a quieter space, the volume will decrease as well. To test this feature out, we'll play some music and see how it responds to different environments.

In addition to adaptive sound, the Pixel Buds also offer in-ear detection. This means that when you pull out the earbud, it pauses, and then resumes playback once it's back in place. For those who prefer a seamless listening experience, this feature is particularly useful.

For further assistance or more information about your Pixel Buds, there are various settings available within the Google Pixel Buds app. You can update the firmware, change notification settings, or learn more about how to use your earbuds effectively. Additionally, you can share your Pixel Buds with friends or family members who also own a compatible device.

If you want to pair your Pixel Buds with another device or transfer them to someone else, it's as simple as opening the case and following the on-screen instructions. The process is straightforward, and with just three seconds of holding down the pairing button, the earbuds are ready for use.

To make the most out of your Pixel Buds, it's recommended to download the Google Pixel Buds app, which offers a range of features such as AAC music streaming, media audio, and contact sharing. By doing so, you'll unlock exclusive controls that enhance the overall listening experience.

Finally, if you ever need to pair or unpair your earbuds with another device, it's easily accessible within the Bluetooth settings on your phone. Simply open the case, tap on Pixel Buds in the list of paired devices, and follow the prompts to complete the process. This feature ensures that your Pixel Buds are always ready for use whenever you need them.

In conclusion, setting up your new Pixel Buds from Google is a straightforward process that offers numerous features and benefits. With its advanced sound capabilities, touch control, and seamless pairing options, it's clear why these earbuds have become a favorite among music lovers and Android enthusiasts alike.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everybody welcome to tech with brett where i help tech work for you so here we have the pixel buds this is the clearly white edition it also comes in almost black quite mint and oh so orange on the box pretty simple it just shows a little bit about the buds but let's get these open and learn more about them so i'm really excited to try these out i never got to try out the previous edition and i usually am a galaxy buds fan so i'm excited to see what these offer so first here we have the buds and i'm really excited about the size that is a really nice compact case let's pull this off here i really like the grip to it as well so we'll get back to that but also in the box here we have two different size of tips so the medium are already installed but then you have a small and you have a large so it's really important that you have the right fit so the buds can sound as best as possible and then here hidden inside the box you also have a usba to a usbc charging port so you are able to charge it with those and then you also have some documentation here so then here this tells us how to connect it to our device to other devices and then touch controls that we can use so we'll get back to those in just a minute so real quick i want to compare with some other cases that i have so here i have some air pods so there you can see just slightly bigger than the airpod case i love how these open up so cool and then here we have the galaxy buds so the galaxy buds is going to be a little bit bigger and a little thicker there there you can see they're a little more compact in here but the galaxy buds one thing is they give you 12 hours of battery life per charge where the pixel buds will give you five hours of battery life the galaxy buds can recharge one full time but the pixel buds can recharge them four times so just something to think about and then here i also am using the echo buds from amazon and it's just this massive case it has micro usb here on the side and you can get a few charges out of that there you go there's a quick size comparison between all of these definitely prefer the smaller size here on the pixel buds i borrowed my dad's air pods so i could show you i don't really use those so there you go that's a little comparison between the sizes of those cases so let's talk about charging so we can charge it with a usb cable here on the bottom and then if we want to we also have qi wireless charging so here it has qi wireless charging built in so i place it on there and there you can see that it is charging now here with the case it has up to 24 hours of total charge time so it's going to charge the earbuds and then when you use them put them in the case and you can recharge four times when the case is down to twenty percent battery the light on the outside will flash orange indicating that there is only twenty percent left and when it's a solid orange that means it's charging now this light indicator is flashing white indicating that it is in pairing mode if it was solid white that means it is charged if it is flashing white and orange that means something's not right so maybe these aren't sitting in properly and then if it is blinking orange that means that when you put them in the case is dead so you'll need to make sure that you charge your case so it's really cool that it has those two lights indicating what those mean so let's go ahead and get these paired up before you get started make sure you do download the pixel buds application now you can use the pixel buds on your phone if you have at least bluetooth 4.0 so that means you can pretty much use most android phones ios devices tablets laptops but if you want the full voice features you do need to have an android phone with android 6.0 or newer as well as the internet so here i'm using my galaxy s20 ultra and we're going to pair them up the first thing we need to do is make sure that in our bluetooth settings we do have bluetooth on and then all i need to do is open it up here and here i'm getting a notification to tap to pair so i'm just going to tap that and we are going to pair them up so here it says connecting to pixel buds tap to finish setup so here it says welcome to your new pixel buds your favorite media and the google assistant at your fingertips so we're going to select start setup here we're going to agree to the terms and now we are going to try on our earbuds so here you can see the tiny little buds here it has this little part to lock it in your ear and then those are able to go deep into your ear so those fit in place very easily so as soon as you put them in i'm hearing music up here has that music icon we're going to select next and then we're going to find the best fit so it says try on all the earbuds to make sure that you find the best comfort stability and sound quality each ear may be different on size so they do feel a tiny bit loose so i'm going to go ahead and try the larger size right here so i can easily pop these off there you can see the speaker grille right there slide the new one on and it locks into place all right so those are in now we're going to hit next so now to raise the volume i just need to swipe forward and i can do this on either earbud so there you can see it is changing the volume there oh that's cool when we get to the full volume it will ding on each side okay now we're going to select skip so now we're going to lower the volume so we're just going to swipe backward that works great skip now we're going to play and pause media so we just need to tap the earbud okay next now to skip to the next track or to reject a call just double tap to play the previous track just double tap now again it doesn't matter which earbud you use they both have the touch functions so now simple storage and charging you can charge your earbuds in the productive case while on the go so here like i mentioned before the case and earbud will light up orange when it is charging and it will be white when they are fully charged so now we're going to learn a bit more about what these can do i can also charge the case while i am using the earbuds if you want to do that as well so here we're going to go next so we have dual microphones for clear audio so two mics minimize background noise and clearly capture your voice so there is a microphone at the top and at the bottom and then here we have in-ear detection so it knows when it is in my ear so as soon as i pull it out of my ear it did pause the music up there and we put it in and there it played so now it's asking to send me emails and if i want to send in usage diagnostics so i'm going to select yes on both of those and now we're going to learn about using google assistant so almost done put on your earbuds and set up your personal assistant so we're going to select continue now set up your personal assistant so here we can choose to send diagnostics i'm going to just keep that on select next and now we're going to set up voice match now i've done this many times before on my google assistant so it probably won't ask me to do this but we're just going to agree for voice match and now it's asking for me to give it a try so all you need to do is touch and hold your earbud while you're talking release when you're done what can you do it's 1009 pm by the way you can stop me at any time just double tap an earbud so you hold down where you're talking and you let go after you give your request so here you can hear your latest notifications touch and hold your earbud when you hear a chime and then let go that's really nice because many times unlike the galaxy buds it just gives me a blatant notification where here it will just give me a little tiny notice i can hold it down and then i can hear a bit more notifications from google play services and photos and then here it says your assistant can respond on your headphones even if your phone is locked you can turn this off in assistant so that's really nice so you don't have to go and unlock your phone just to talk to the google assistant so you can use your earbuds for everything that you would need the google assistant to do so now we're going to select done and now we are in the pixelbuds application so over here it's showing my left earbud is 100 my right earbud is a hundred percent if i wanted to give my pixel buds its own name here i could come and do that and then here we have all the different settings so let's go in and see what we can do within google assistant so here these are all the google assistant settings directly on the pixel buds so here let's go into spoken notifications so here in spoken notifications i can choose which applications are going to notify me so i use google voice or i use hangouts a lot so i want to hear those notifications but all of these other applications i don't really care about but you could choose specific apps if you want to be notified of then here we have the option for allow response while phone is locked so we would want that on we can also just say what's the weather like tomorrow and it was able to hear me while saying that so i didn't even need it touch and hold you can just use the voice commands and then here you have the play start sound so you know when google assistant has been activated here it says that we're connected and the make and model and that's pretty much all the information there and so then you can pretty much just do everything else you would usually do with google assistant so heading back into the app you do have find device so if you lose your pixel buds you do have the option to ring the earbuds so let's see how that sounds so here i can hear a tiny noise coming out of there so turning it up i could hear that a bit better so and then we can do the right so it will slowly get louder and louder and you do need to be connected over bluetooth to your earbuds but one interesting thing is these do have bluetooth 5.0 so if you are in your house you can use these earbuds within three different rooms of your phone so if you have your phone sitting there you could walk up to three rooms away and still use these if you are outdoors you could walk up to a football field away and you would still have connection to the earbuds now we'll do full tests of that but that is what google says is possible why don't we do a little test here so it did say i could move three rooms away and leave my phone here so let's see how that works so here i'm just gonna leave my ultra there on the table let's walk down the hall so far they sound great still good i don't really know how many rooms away this is but still good should we do up right here it's going right here it's pretty good should we see if it can do it if football feel the way outside let's go all right music's still playing i'm just gonna leave my phone right here and head that way okay so i got about two houses away and then it cut out and then it wasn't very good but about a full house length was just fine so not quite a football field but we'll uh see if that improves over time all right so we're back so we're just going to drop in the pixel buds here and they do magnetize in staying there pretty good and there you can see that on my phone it did show the battery life of the case as well as the earbuds so it's pretty cool that that is available so next we're going to go back and here we have more information about the touch control so if you can't remember you can come in here and you could look at all of those so we went through raise volume lower volume play pause next track previous track answer call single tap double tap or triple tap we'll end or reject a call and then we press and hold to talk to our google assistant next we have adaptive sound so it's what adaptive sound will do is when you turn this on it's automatically going to adjust the volume on the earbuds based on the environment sound around you so let's say you're at the gym and it's really loud it would be able to increase the volume automatically and then as you leave the gym it will turn down the volume or maybe you go on the subway or you're traveling or something and it will automatically increase the volume so you don't have to keep adjusting as you're just moving about your day so let's give that a try i'm going to turn this on and we're going to play some music and see if it increases the volume of what i'm listening to definitely increase the volume so that definitely increased the volume a little bit i'll have to play with that a bit more but that's a pretty cool feature so next we have in-ear detection on so like i showed before as i pull out the earbud it's going to pause and i'm going to put the earbud back in it's going to play and then here you have a more setting so we can come in here learn a few more tips and tricks so you can go through and read more about what the pixel buds can do here we can update the firmware so here it says when the last firmware update was done you can make sure automatic updates are on and then it has the firmware for each device here you can learn more about your pixel buds and then you can change those email notifications and pretty much everything so now let's say we want to use these with another device or we want to share with a friend so for that all you need to do is make sure that the earbuds are here in the case and then i'm going to hold down the pair button for three seconds until that light starts flashing white and then it is ready to pair those so i'm going to come over here on my pixel 4 xl i'm going to go into the devices and now i'm going to select pair new device and here you can see that the pixel buds pop right up so i'm going to select pair i'm going to pair to them and now i am paired together so here it gave me a notification you can do more with the pixel buds so now it's giving me a prompt to download the google pixel buds to get the most out of the pixel buds and you do need to make sure that you have the latest google app update as well all right i have the pixel buds app on here i can open them up and then here you can see i have all those same controls now here on a pixel i do have a few more options so here i have the option to turn on aac for music phone calls i can do media audio and then i can turn on contact sharing but pretty much everything else is very similar so let's say i want to pair them back to my other phone all i need to do is go back into the bluetooth settings when the case is open here i just need to tap on pixel buds and it's going to jump back and be connected to the phone here and now we can close the case put it in our pocket and head on our way i was even able to fit them here in my bucket and so that is how you set up your new pixel buds from google if you have any further questions about these please let me know in the comments below and if you would like to see a full playlist of more things you can ask google assistant on your pixel buds make sure you check out the playlist right here thank you so much for watching we'll see you on the next onehey everybody
