I Can't Believe My Porsche 911 GT3 Has Already Done 10,000km!

The Car: A Perfect Proposition

I have to say that I'm absolutely loving this car, it's doing me very well and I'm enjoying driving it on the Nurburgring. The rear engine setup and precision feel of this car are perfect for that environment. It's clear that this car is designed for track days, with a focus on handling and performance. I appreciate the fact that it doesn't have to be modified to achieve its full potential, unlike some other sports cars.

The Sound: A Pleasing Experience

One thing that stands out about this car is its sound. The instant response of the naturally aspirated engine is a pleasure to hear, and the lack of turbo lag means that you can press the throttle and know exactly what's going to happen next. I've been lucky enough to experience the full range of sounds this car makes, from the smoothness of cruising to the high-pitched squeal of the brakes. It's a truly satisfying sound that adds to the overall driving experience.

The Interior: Comfortable and Well-Finished

Inside, the car is comfortable and well-appointed, with plenty of nice materials and attention to detail. The fit and finish are excellent, and I've opted for the extended leather interior which completes the look. The Alcantara trim and carbon-fiber accents add a touch of sophistication, while the brush anthracite aluminium trim ties in perfectly with the custom door sills.

A Flawless Experience

In terms of reliability, this car has been flawless so far. After over 9,000 kilometers, I've had no issues to report, apart from a minor problem with the number plate - which wasn't actually the car's fault! The worst thing was that it came off in one piece after being driven on several track days.

The AMG GTR: A Different Animal

Of course, this car is not just about me - I have other people who drive it and they all have slightly different preferences. But for me, I still think the GT3 is the best proposition out there. The AMG GTR is a great car in its own right, but for my needs, it's just too much.

A Special Touch

One thing that's stood out to me during my time with this car has been the attention to detail and the sense of exclusivity that comes with driving a Porsche track day car. The sound of the engine cooling down after a run is music to my ears - a kind of tinkering or metallic clicking noise that's just so satisfying.

The Car in the Garage

Now that I've finished up, I'm back in the garage with my GT3. It's parked and ready for its next adventure, which will likely involve more track time and perhaps even a few modifications to take it to the next level.

A Surprise: Stay Tuned!

Finally, I have one more thing to tell you about - but I'll keep that under wraps for now. Let's just say that this is something that will surprise you, and I think it's going to be big. You might not see it coming, but trust me when I say that it's going to be worth the wait. That's all for now, folks!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys I'm Shari hello to you and welcome back to the channel where today you joined me back in Germany for an update on my 911 gt3 I picked this car up about three months ago and since then it has done 10,000 kilometers so this is a bit of a living with the things I like about it some of the things that I don't like about it so much but before we get fully into that I want to tell you a touch more about this surprise that I've been alluding to the gt3 has had a pretty good inning so far in fact even going back to last year doing the specification for the car then visiting the factory to see it being built in Zippin housing the home of Porsche then even going to Porsche exclusive manufacturer to see the final touches going onto the car of course it's painted in pts the gilt Grund paintwork but the custom door sills that it has and then even since then I picked it up from topaz detailing and we went straight on the road with the gt3 joined by my McLaren Aston and Mercedes and did the ring wing ting tour to the Nurburgring where it then proceeded to do a few laps of the nudged life for the full circuit and also the Grand Prix track at the Nurburgring as well and since then I've been over 300 on the Autobahn I've daily driven it a little bit around Frankfurt it's been on a road trip down to Cars and Coffee and pressure and then across the top marks Monaco so basically this car has done just about everything that you can really use a car like this for so let's run over that in more detail but like I said first up this surprise coming very very soon I hinted towards this I think about a month ago and then a little bit more about two weeks back but in just a few days two days to be precise I've got some news for you guys about a new addition to the Shmi 150 fleet something I'm quite excited about now remember my last surprise was the SH mini about two years ago so you can probably not really guess what this is gonna be so stay tuned look forward to this one I think you might be quite pleasantly surprised but let's focus now more on the gt3 like I said almost 10,000 kilometers in fact a little bit less it's about nine and a bit thousand kilometres we'll see that on the dashboard in a minute it's got a decent amount of storage space we've been using the bonnet we've been struggling to put stuff into the rear it has to be said so I ordered the cast fact very much for the track as you know I've been driving it on the Nordschleife for a fair amount but that means I've got the carbon fibre 918 style bucket seats that do not fault that means if you want to use all of this room back here and remember a 911 with its rear engine is a 2+2 there are normally back seats in a Carrera or a regular model it's a complete nightmare you have to put one seat fully back one seat fully forward and then kind of wedge soft bags in through the cage in the back that you can see is basically a bit of scaffolding you can get stuff back there but it's not easy then we've also got harnesses you can actually remove the harnesses and get them slightly out of the way so we had this custom-made Sparco harnesses with the lime-green to match the car those can be fed back through the slots and seats which makes it slightly more easy to live with but one thing that's a royal pain is this the bottom attachment for the six point harness you can try and tuck it back through but it's very very hard to do that and to get it back out again but obviously you need it to use the harnesses but you can imagine that sits between your legs on both seat every time you get in and out you often end up sitting on it and it's really quite awkward and talking about sitting on things that are awkward to climb into this car because the seats are quite low and they do move up and down with an electronic control here which is a nice thing but you have quite a sharp point on this edge and I find out actually bruise and injure myself on the sides getting in and out of the car it's such a random thing but if you go on a road trip and you're climbing in and out all the time that is a genuine annoyance irritation about the gt3 such a small I guess little thing but that's what it's for it's a trend car you know we've got the giant wing we've got the steel brakes I'm still on the original sport cup 2 tires and no sign of any issues with the brakes in fact given that it's been around tracks and just being driven fairly hard has to be said it's doing a really really good job basically there hasn't been a single problem with the car the only thing was the number plate story that you might remember it was originally registered as f TB 87 until the rear number plate fell off on the Autobahn when I was going through the Nurburgring and I had to re-register the car and due to the system in Germany if you re register you lose the original one throw it away and get a brand new plates so people here it doesn't really make sense in Germany obviously this says SH the two ones are a bit like an M and then the two E's if you could picture it that a bit like me a bit like my other cars but nobody here really gets that system anyway just coming around very pleased I picked the black headlights that was an option the black P pusher LED headlights and all the black touches around the car and link up and match up a lot of people have talked about the white dials some people don't like them because it inverts the colours but to me they're super super smart so this is the problem right the climbing in bit you have to climb in awkwardly over that side edge and that's what annoys me it's just not that practical everyday where it excels though is when you do this and you can see nine thousand two hundred and forty two kilometers in less than three months on the road that is crazy to go for a drive there are two things that I immediately do the first is pressing the exhaust mode button on the center console but honestly I swear that makes no difference you don't hear it getting louder you don't hear a change in the tone you don't hear the valves opening earlier in the rev range so I don't actually really know what that does basically it sounds good all the time it's just kind of instinct or habits to press the button just to change it just because right the other thing that I do is move the gear stick to the left to put it into manual mode on the 7-speed dual-clutch PDK now this was a hotly debated topic the PDK system versus the manual gearbox and I was lucky enough to drive both of them before getting my car so I experienced a manual gearbox on the Ascari circuit in Spain and it's a fantastic set up the way the gearbox works in harmony with the engine the chassis the suspension everything about this car basically that's what's so good about it how precise it is but the Ek is that and a little bit more track focus because you can keep your hands on the steering wheel which ultimately means you're less stressed when you're driving round a track especially as I have done using it to learn the nor should I for and learn a little bit more feel and balance some control so yes the manual might be more of a Sunday afternoon car this is more of a track car each of them are both perfect in completely different ways they are clinical precise driving experiences and that is really what is quite so good about the 911 gt3 and then as you drive away you get this noise that comes out of it you can build up around slightly hold on to them a touch and just feel a naturally aspirated flat six and it's a wonderful wonderful engine for litres of Laurium comes out but it won't last forever but while we still have these engines they need to be enjoyed and then you get that downshift instantly matching the shifts are so so so fast in this car so things I love about it the precise feel of the steering and the gearbox the PDK gearbox absolutely fantastic but overall it's a perfect car and that's perhaps its detriment if I can say that so I'm quite used to driving cars with turbocharged engines where you get more power the higher up the rev range you go whereas in this I get that first power but we've only and I can say only in this respect can see much only got 500 horsepower so 500 horsepower means that when you do get higher in the rev range I'm sitting there waiting for more like the McLaren or the AMG GTR I'm waiting for a touch more power to come out of it and it doesn't so I'm screaming for more power the engine will be screaming away in the background which is a pretty wonderful sensation because you feel it kind of tingling all the way through your spine it literally vibrates the whole car due to how high-pitched frequency of the exhaust nose is or the engine though coming from the back but I still want the touch more power out of it and yes then we can get into model patient topics and talk about actually making changes to the car and it looks like there's just been a little bump somebody's had fright here so let this car go out try and maneuver past this we can talk about driving the car in town because this is the perfect example it's small which helps and makes it work reasonably well but it can be a little bit clunky and it's very very firm over the bumps the steering is quite heavy but that's the sports car feel when you do ride over a bump you feel it all the way the seats are so straight backed that it's kind of uncomfortable on a long distance so it's it's a little bit like you think of the gt3 is a useful everyday sports car baby supercar it's that kind of territory but it's just a turn on the farm end for that and yes you could spec it differently and I think mr. jww is also taking delivery of a 911 gt3 9 and 1.2 ordered the folding bucket seats and I would probably recommend the folding bucket seats but then you get into this world of you have to spec it based on the markets and out here in Germany pretty much if you don't order the 918 seats you're not really going to be able to sell the car to a new customer afterwards so you kind of have to go down that route and then the steel brakes which are better for track use because they're less expensive than the ceramics to replace when the time comes so you have to be thinking about those things a little bit even just here just to without my few revs as we head out of town at the moment the noise is astronomically good so the things they don't necessarily like about it are that this is in theory my tracker car and the AMG GT R is in theory my road car but on the track they're near on matched the lap times you've got in each car pretty pretty similar in fact the GTR has done at a two-second quick a lap at the Nordschleife or two seconds over seven and a bit minutes is next to nothing but it's relevant I suppose so it's perhaps unfair on the gt3 no for me the things I'm comparing it to just appeal more to my specifics I'm using the car as opposed to wanting it just to be a complete tracks layer where it's completely home that is good though every time I'm literally kind of biting my own words while I speak here obviously you could go back into what semantics and it would drop and after seventh year and do its own thing hopefully we'll get a quick stretch and a moment to be able to just enjoy a tiny touch more sound out of it but basically I'm spoiled if I want to drive any supercar type full-on sports car driving experience the 675lt is virtually impossible to beat as I did in my update with that car recently the front end the steering connection to the front axle in the amount of grip you have for the price point is incredible absolutely incredible this is very very nearly the same but it's almost a farmer ride and slightly less exciting yes it's you know new price is less than half this is such like a you can tell a debate that twists speak in terms of this car I'm loving driving out here because the D restriction was that well that was demeaning out to Franklin we've just gone from city center to open it video clips let me drop some gears council bird and right now the rice like that just straight out to the city back in tonight it was very cold mogera touch paralyzed and you gotta get my voice so it's not actually that faucet but you are going fast it's really fidgety so as a daily driver in Germany too frequently going to go 250 moving around the follicles rice 117 frame and I backed off is to die and please refill uncirculated yes I will have to make it improv in a second excited taxpayer Claire says here do you want to search for a nearby petrol station that makes life pretty easy if you need it anyway we're down to restrictor section now so we can chill out for an order to not get back into automatic so where am I at with this car it's doing me very well I'm loving driving it on the Nurburgring and loving the fact that it's so perfect for that environment I enjoy the different driving experiences the rear engine setup and the precision feel of this car without feeling like I have to risk the McLaren which is obviously is substantially more expensive machine if I sound driving a track and anything goes wrong so this is plastic bumpers instead of carbon fiber bumpers but as an actual all-around car for me as I said back when I took the livery of this pretty much I felt like the AMG GTR was the best proposition and I still to be completely honest feel that way so that is where this car seems to this out for me I'm more than happy to accept the four other people it's the other way around different you know we all like slightly different things I prefer the feel of an engine generally speaking upfront certainly for a daily car you could spec this as the daily car I haven't done this one isn't it clearly could be anyway let me get some fuel and go on from that the thing that you do get with a naturally aspirated engine is that instant just press the throttle and the power is immediately there there's no waiting for turbos or anything and now we're back into the restricted because it lets go busier heading back into brake lever still the sound doesn't look a talking ray in this instance this is the best car for doing that it you don't need to modify it I'm not going to modify n loads of you have asked me am I going to change the exhaust really change things in Germany you have this complicated system with the tool there basically any modification to the car even down to changing the color of the calipers alike that I think has to be approved by the company or administration client at all so thanks Italy that means you can't really change anything without great expense and great stress to make sure it's all done correctly so I've ordered the car how I want for them I'm going to keep it how it is because I think it's really nice that's unrivaled but I thought I may need to change you don't need this to be louder I'm going to shout so you can actually hear me don't exhaust ponies open again laughs there are no fields start but and head back to the garage parked back up in the garage and one of the things that has always for my whole life intrigued me about sports cars is the noises that they make when you come to a rest after a proper run you get this kind of tinkering or metallic clicking noise which is quite literally metal components cooling back down from the wall so in the case of the gt3 you get a lot of that coming from the engine at the rear also from the brakes but it's been parked for a couple of minutes that's just about finished off now however a couple more things just to touch on about this car particularly on the interior we have a lot of nice materials the fit is all very good so I went for the extended leather which just finishes off everything completely it matches with the Alcantara you've got the dual grey stitch which matches with the stripe at the centre of the seat the carbon-fiber back buckets of course you could opt to have carbon fibre for the center console inlays and trims I went for the brush anthracite aluminium which ties in with the custom door sills that we did thanks to Porsche Centrum Amsterdam and Porsche individual manufacture so all in all it's a comfortable car to drive everything works nothing has fallen off a hand-built supercar you have random things that go wrong computer gremlins electrical issues there has been nothing of that to talk about in reference to the gt3 at all the worst thing was the number plate but that's not Porsches fault that's cuz we didn't peel the sticky pads at the back other than that it has been flawless after over 9,000 kilometers coming up to 10 I'm gonna start trying to drive it I think a little bit less it's not my road trip car the AMG GTR takes that responsibility which is already now at 20,000 kilometers in about seven months or so which is crazy this car is going to do more work on the track more driving on the Nordschleife ER because basically that's what it's for and that's to be completely honest is where it is most at home next up though this surprise that I need to tell you about so stay tuned for that because I think you're not gonna see this one coming whatever you might be thinking it's almost certainly not that watch this space and I'll come back to you with exactly what it's going to be very very soon Cheers youhi guys I'm Shari hello to you and welcome back to the channel where today you joined me back in Germany for an update on my 911 gt3 I picked this car up about three months ago and since then it sports cars is the noises that they make when you come to a rest after a proper run you get this kind of tinkering or metallic clicking noise which is quite literally metal components cooling back down from the wall so in the case of the gt3 you get a lot of that coming from the engine at the rear also from the brakes but it's been parked for a couple of minutes that's just about finished off now however a couple more things just to touch on about this car particularly on the interior we have a lot of nice materials the fit is all very good so I went for the extended leather which just finishes off everything completely it matches with the Alcantara you've got the dual grey stitch which matches with the stripe at the centre of the seat the carbon-fiber back buckets of course you could opt to have carbon fibre for the center console inlays and trims I went for the brush anthracite aluminium which ties in with the custom door sills that we did thanks to Porsche Centrum Amsterdam and Porsche individual manufacture so all in all it's a comfortable car to drive everything works nothing has fallen off a hand-built supercar you have random things that go wrong computer gremlins electrical issues there has been nothing of that to talk about in reference to the gt3 at all the worst thing was the number plate but that's not Porsches fault that's cuz we didn't peel the sticky pads at the back other than that it has been flawless after over 9,000 kilometers coming up to 10 I'm gonna start trying to drive it I think a little bit less it's not my road trip car the AMG GTR takes that responsibility which is already now at 20,000 kilometers in about seven months or so which is crazy this car is going to do more work on the track more driving on the Nordschleife ER because basically that's what it's for and that's to be completely honest is where it is most at home next up though this surprise that I need to tell you about so stay tuned for that because I think you're not gonna see this one coming whatever you might be thinking it's almost certainly not that watch this space and I'll come back to you with exactly what it's going to be very very soon Cheers you\n"
