LG Gram Review: A Comprehensive Hands-On Experience

As I began my hands-on experience with the LG Gram, I was eager to put its features and performance to the test. The laptop's trackpad was one of the first things I noticed, and it felt incredibly responsive and smooth. I tried using voice command to check the weather for tomorrow, and the forecast showed sunny skies with a high of 86 degrees and a low of 66. The speakers, while not as loud as some other laptops on the market, still produced decent sound quality.

I decided to test out some music to get a better sense of the audio capabilities, and I was pleased to find that the sound was coming from the bottom of the laptop. I cranked up the volume to max and was able to hear every detail of the music. When it came time to adjust the brightness, the display lit up nicely, with a range of settings available to suit different viewing conditions.

One feature that caught my eye was the backlit keyboard. With the lights off, the keys were easy to see in complete darkness, and when I turned them on high, they shone brightly like a miniature moon. I found this feature to be particularly useful, as it made typing in the dark a breeze. To test out the laptop's gaming capabilities, I loaded up Minecraft, which was already pre-installed.

As I played, I was pleased to find that the game ran smoothly and without any lag or slowdowns. The graphics were crisp and clear, with deep shadows and detailed textures. I even managed to survive a few minutes of gameplay before deciding it was time for a break – but don't worry, I didn't rage quit... yet!

So, how does the LG Gram stack up? On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm giving it an 8 out of 10, and that's considering it's priced under $1000. The build quality is excellent, with a metal feel that makes it durable and long-lasting. The laptop weighs just 2 pounds, making it easy to toss into any bag or backpack without worrying about adding extra weight.

One of the standout features of this laptop is its portability – it passes the one-hand open test with flying colors! I was able to easily open the lid and start working with one hand, thanks to the clever design. Boot times were quick, under a minute, which is impressive for such a powerful device.

Another feature that impressed me was the range of ports available on the LG Gram. With an SD card slot, headphone jack, USB 3.0, USB Type-C, and another USB 3.0, this laptop has everything I need to stay connected and productive on the go. The display is crystal clear, with great viewing angles that make it easy to share with others.

Of course, no review would be complete without mentioning the elephant in the room: the speakers. While they're not as loud or impressive as some other laptops, they still get the job done – especially when connected via HDMI to a TV or monitor. 13.3 inch full HD IPS LCD display now the build is a full metal body which is made out of premium nano carbon magnesium and it passes mil-std 810 durability testing now the laptop weighs a little over 2 pounds you get a 72 watt hour battery which LG claims is going to give you 22 and a half hours worth of battery life now it's powered by the 8th gen Intel Core i5 processor and you get ddr4 dual channel memory now it's running Windows home 10 fresh out of the box now of course you got your backlit keys you got a webcam you got a bunch of ports like USB 3.0 USB type-c headphone jack and a micro SD card slot for expandable memory alright so all that half under thousand bucks let's see what it is shout out to white shoes back in the building LG gram nice presentation simple clean white fingerprint sensor no Thunderbolt it is what it is here we go now this looks nice let's save that for a second file that to the side now I like the white cable that's a nice touch to match the white light a laptop here's a power plug okay you got a nice little OTG right here let's see if we can get this open brah LG branding on it USB type-c this is gonna be the rest of your plugs now this is a nice looking presentation I can't front white power cable and here's your gram let's see is there anything else in there of course limited warranty usual books and plucking the file them to the side now for the coop dick Grum LG grin plastic now fresh out of the box I gotta tell you this might be the lightest laptop that I got I gotta put it next to my my Hawaii mate book but this is super light let's see now I'm holding this basically I don't want to balance this but you can easily hold this with two fingers easily matter of fact do I got a tablet down here I gotta grab a tablet this actually feels like picking up a galaxy tablet super light alright let's open this up okay let's power this up see if we got any juice I don't might have to plug this in but in the meantime here's your keyboard let's see how these Keys feel nice and clicky let's go through the buttons escape digit power button hold your basic buttons full full number roll let's see uh matter of fact what I'll do is let me plug this in this way we could go through some of the OS talk amongst yourselves all right before I plug this in let's go through the ports so on one side there's your power input that's what you're gonna plug it in you got a USB 3.0 you got a full size HDMI you got a USB type-c there's your little LED once you plug it in that's gonna flash on another side there's your microSD card slot you got a headphone jack and you got another USB 3.0 on the bottom you got four rubber stoppers that's gonna keep it in place you got two speaker grilles with a little LG gram branding on the top alright let me plug this in alright Jos will be back in now I got everything off so now let's test it out first things first let's try the one hand open test opens easily all right let's try this again close it one hand open no problems now let's see how long it takes to boot up from completely powered off white shoes on deck alright so here we go now yeah I got to keep track of the time on I'm gonna have to use this for about a week before I give you out my final rating but so far I'm definitely feeling this under a thousand bucks the build quality is excellent I love the metal feel to this it's mil-std 8/10 approve that means you could drop this you could beat it up it's not gonna break the weight weighs about two pounds that might be the dopest feature of this laptop it's super lightweight now I notice video is not doing it you're gonna have to hold the city hand for yourself feels like holding a tablet you can easily drop this in any bag it's not gonna add any extra thickness or any extra weight passes the one hand open test with flying colors boot up speed less than a minute I'm feeling net you've seen the backlit keyboard nice and bright that means you can use this in any dark room and get your type on now one of the things I love about this laptop all of the different ports so you've got your SD card slot headphone jack USB 3.0 USB type-c another USB 3.0 and my favorite HDMI connect this right to your TV or rock out the display crystal clear great viewing angles now if there's one thing I had to complain about it will be the speakers the speakers
