It feels old school but in the best way possible it feels old school with modern like technology and engineering which is just amazing or listen to that thing listen to it it's such an urgent power delivery so we've got the suspension on the softest setting to be able to cope with some of these bumps we have thank you but it just feels so tied down course you have that additional downforce from the arrow now we put a nice little straight here I'm going to slow down a little bit for these pumps you can really feel the additional power if you compare it to a stock a regular SLS a little bit quicker it's 100 to 200 I'm not sure what part I did last time but I think it's seven seven thank you oh picks up so well all the way to the 8 000 RPM suspension is so lovely too straight here speed is 315 oh my God what a car what a car it really has found a way into my heart in this car I love an SLS I really do I love it with all my heart series just adds another layer of handling balance ballot and just that aggressive character bit of RP revs that that 8 000 RPM that you want to hit you're chasing that 8 000 is just so special shifts are super quick gets our gearbox so let's turn around here I'll put the car in manual for those downshifts oh it's a quick car this I mean 630 horsepower naturally aspirated that is so impressive oh it's it's so communicative as well it just stalks to you it lets you know how much it can do and how much it can take how much more you can give it and that is something special that is what sets it apart from say a Ferrari F12 which we own that I'll tell you we were at the Ferrari dealership when we bought the F12 they also had an SLS AMG for sale a regular one not a black series a regular one and they were about the same price and we decided to buy the F12 because we thought the V12 Ferrari we thought you guys don't you love it we thought it would be great ER Channel and then around six months later we were basically done with the car we had done everything with it we wanted and it didn't really that much anymore which is insane to say I I know that as I'm saying it but there's just something off about the car about an F12 it it's an amazing piece of engineering it's an amazing Ferrari but it just didn't stick with us it it just it didn't leave an impression and when I drive this car I'm thinking well we should have bought the SLS I think we would still own it today and we would still love it there's just something special about an SLS there really is okay so I know it's a bit weird so have it in reverse order and do the B road now but it just worked out better that way because I had to cool the cameras as well and it was super busy on that side okay so be road driving what is it like well you can definitely feel the changes they made to the gearbox thank you because the shifts are super quick and aggressive and especially that shift is more aggressive they also change the suspension as I said and that means that the car goes from like a Super GT basically a combination between a Supercar and a GT2 a true track weapon a full Attack Mode SLS and you might think that it wouldn't work because you know you have that big V8 in the front and that long nose and but it just works it really does but the biggest change compared to a regular SLS is that red line it's that 8 000 RPM 6.2 liter V8 that just is unprecedented it's there's nothing out there like it there are high revving V8s but not with this character oh it's insane really it really is so let's do the tunnel of course I have to do the tunnel oh outrageous what a car man I love this I I absolutely am utterly and hopelessly in love with this car all right so let's hit the tunnel once more before we go oh man I can do this all day but I'm going to return it to Mr curb weight thank you so much for allowing us to take out your gorgeous SLS Black Series I have really enjoyed myself and I hope that I've been able to show you guys what it's like behind the wheel of one of these absolute Legends thanks so much for watching you can subscribe by clicking the big button in the middle you can also check out this video on the right or this playlist on the left see you the next one bye

curb weight on Instagram go check him out he has an amazing collection of cars and very good taste because he specs his cars really well he drives some awesome cars as well uh to give you an example his daily driver is a purple GT3 touring uh absolutely stunning and then he's got a couple of very cool Porsches Ferraris and this the SLS Black Series which is a car that we still had unfinished business with because I drove it a few years ago uh you might remember the sunbeam yellow SLS Black from the Mercedes AMG Museum and I drove the car with uh schmee 150 next to me we were recording some 360 videos for Mercedes that never got released because it didn't really work but I got like 10 or 15 minutes to do our own review and I never really felt satisfied with that because the car deserves more it is one of the most special if not the most special modern amg's when it came out it was the fifth car that was given the Black Series label and arguably it is the most deserving because they took the SLS which is like a big Cruiser it's it is a Supercar but also has like this deep dark growly V8 and has a more laid-back character he just wants to waggle it still it is the ultimate GT by AMG if you ask me and I took that car and they made it into this a track weapon with this long of a bullet and a V8 in the front and they just worked their magic and it is an absolute Beast to drive so this car is this super nice pearlescent white I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of white cars normally but this works really well with the carbon fiber and again that pearlescent glow in it makes it super special they only made 350 of these so this Mega rare and they are appreciating like a madman they are now close to a million euros apparently and uh well deservingly so because it is so special so we've got a different bullet compared to a regular SLS with this air outlet in carbon fiber you still have the two claws but just take a look at that real estate I mean that's that's such a long Bonnet and it doesn't need to be this long because the engine sits right there but they just wanted to make like this classic Coupe GT car you sit right in front of the rear axle there oh I love this car so freaking much it is one of my favorite cars ever it really is it just made the top five today I think okay so at the front we've got carbon fiber front splitter a little bit of a Canard there and some inlay other than that it's regular SLS Wheels and Tires and Brakes are special too these beautiful AMG Wheels in matte black with Pilot Sport cup 2 tires super nice and sticky rubber but they only work when they are hot so don't try to drive this car in the rain it will be a handful well you can try but it will be a handful these are 19-inch Wheels with 275 rubber wrapped around that behind that garbage ramp brakes of course as standard on the Black Series they also reworked the suspension uh it's quite a stiff a firm ride but it gives you loads of control which is very nice carbon inlay on the side here as well and of course the Gullwing doors which add a lot of drama but are just so cool let me open both for you guys so you can bask in the glory of going doors look at that oh so close that up again now I was also wondering about this SLS Black Series why it looks so much more aggressive than a regular SLS well it's of course down to that splitter and the can Arts but it also has a wider body so it's 13 millimeters wider at the front and 26 millimeters at the rear which is quite substantial and we've got these massive rear tires 325s at the rear that is a lot of rubber to put all that power down and we've got a manually adjustable rear wing as you can see you can adjust the angle of the wing there we've got a black series badge and a different titanium exhaust for the Black Series which saves 13 kilos so let's take a look at that engine open that massive bullet there we go so oh look at that so we've got a carbon fiber vomit that opens wow almost 90 degrees all carbon carbon inlay here for the Black Series as well and then we've got the engine all the way back there as you can see so it is a front mid engine car 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 with 631 horsepower now that is an increase from 571 horsepower in the regular SLS now torque Wise It's actually down from 650 in a regular SLS to 635 but that is because they have revised the engine so they wanted more power but they also wanted a higher red line so it's at 8 000 RPM in this engine and they also wanted better response so torque is down they revised the high-speed valve train it's called new camshafts it's got a revised intake system as well they had they did tweaks to the gearbox the gearbox also sits 10 millimeters lower to lower the center of gravity which I thought was quite a big change it also gets a new electronically controlled locking rear differential with specific setup and the gearbox also gets a specific setup for the Sport Plus and the manual mode so you get a more aggressive downshift blip which is really you can really hear that sounds absolutely stunning and it's got a lot of other race inspired parts and a special Coating in the engine and stuff like that so they really try to optimize the car for track driving that's also why it is 70 kilos lighter than the regular SLS that is down to that exhaust which saves 13 kilos but also those carbon fiber panels you saw in the engine bay we also have these lightweight bucket seats which are just amazing and yeah 70 kilos is quite a lot so it weighs 1550 kilos which makes it 80 kilos lighter than an F12 for instance a Ferrari F12 which is that is quite substantial so how does that sound very good so we're going to do this in reverse order I'm going to hit the Autobahn what I'm hoping is the better side traffic wise oh listen to that listen to that 8 000 RPM on the Autobahn this is what makes this car so special that high revving agent combined with that
