Hi there, and welcome back to my channel. Today, I have the Xiaomi Redmi 1s with me, which is an incredibly affordable Android phone from Xiaomi that sells in India for just around $100. Now, let's take a closer look at some of its very interesting specs.
First off, let's check out the benchmark scores on this device. To do so, I'll be using the CPU-Z application to display the specs. As you can see, it's clocked at 1.6 gigahertz, which is a quad-core processor based on the Snapdragon 400 chipset. Regarding the GPU, it supports Adreno 3:05 GPU. Now, let's take a look at the screen - it's a 4.7-inch screen that's a 720p HD display. I'd say the viewing angles are pretty good on this screen, but there is one issue with the screen. It does have a slightly yellowish tint to it.
Moving on to the RAM, it has only one gig of RAM available, which might be a concern for some users. However, it's worth noting that you can still add a microSD card to this device, so if you need more storage space, that option is available. The back cover does open up, and I've actually shown you the unboxing video of this device in one of my previous videos, where I showed you all the different components inside.
Now, let's talk about the battery life. This device has a 2050 milliampere battery, which is a user-replaceable battery. It's always good to have a battery that can be replaced or upgraded if needed. In terms of sensors, this device does include some important ones such as the gyroscope.
Now, let's take a look at the benchmark scores on this device. The first score I'll display is from the Quadrant test, which shows a score of 10,000 and 260 for overall performance and CPU performance respectively. It also displays the memory score, which is 3527 iowa's, and the graphics score, which is 33 and 22 respectively. Now let's move on to the Antutu benchmark scores, where this device scores around 19,000 points.
These benchmark scores are comparable to other devices that run on similar chipsets like the Moto G or even some of the newer models from Samsung Galaxy S5 series. The Geekbench test shows single-core performance at 439 and multi-core performance at 1499. Overall, I'd say these scores show a very good performance for this device.
Now, let's talk about one thing that might be a concern with this device - the heat it produces when used extensively. Yes, you heard that right. When this device is stressed out, like running multiple apps or games simultaneously, it tends to get hot. It's always a good idea to make sure your devices have proper cooling mechanisms.
Moving on to another feature of this device, let's check if the USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality works in this device. The Sandesh USB On-The-Go Device is used here, and as you can see, it detects and works without needing any third-party software installation. What I like about this is that you don't need to install anything extra; just use the built-in file explorer.
Now let's check some of the files residing on the device. As you can see from the drop-down menu in the file explorer, we have a bunch of files there. You can select and open files without any issues. I'll play back an 1080p video right now using this device, which is supported by MX player.
As it plays, let's take a look at how smooth and seamless the playback experience is on this device. Yes, you can crop around during playback or pause the video without any hassle, all thanks to the decent performance of this device. This also means that you can easily load up movies and media content on this device.
This device does support microSD card slots, which are always useful for expanding storage space. However, it's worth noting that there isn't an option to install or move apps directly from the SD card onto your phone's internal storage right now. It might come as a feature update in the future, but for now, you'll need to follow other methods.
Well, I've covered all of the specs and features of this device so far.
