I NEED A 5 CYLINDER AFTER THIS - Rips at Iroz Motorsports

The Audi RS3: A Legend Among Audis

As we stepped into the workshop, it was clear that this was no ordinary car. The owner, a self-proclaimed Audi enthusiast, had taken his 2015 Audi S3 and transformed it into a drag car, complete with a turbocharged engine and a bold exterior design. "This guy could have easily bought an STO and put turbos on it," he said with a smile, "but he just wants to be different." And that's exactly what this car is - a unique blend of Audi heritage and performance.

The owner showed us the car's impressive specs, including a 1470 horsepower engine and a 7-second zero-to-60 time. He explained how the longer track on the car had allowed him to make significant gains in terms of power output, particularly with regards to ambient temperature and inlet pressure. "Turbochargers are interesting," he said, "and this thing's pretty famous - it was the first RS3 to go seven." The owner also shared stories about his racing experiences, including a memorable run at SEMA where he had hooned the car on a burn yard.

As we explored the workshop, we noticed that the owner had taken great care in preserving the car's originality. Despite its bold modifications, the exterior still looked like a stock car - although with some subtle tweaks to make it more track-ready. "We run 15-inch bead locks and fire supply tires," he explained, "so we can get away with using a slightly different setup." The owner also showed us the Kevlar doors that filled the car's interior, adding an extra layer of protection for the occupants.

Throughout our tour, the owner was eager to share his passion for Audi and his love of modifying cars. He talked about how he had developed all the parts on this car from scratch, using a combination of research and experimentation to create a truly unique vehicle. "It's like this scope," he said, gesturing to a diagram of the engine, "this guy could have easily bought an STO and put turbos on it... but he just wants to be different." And that's exactly what this car represents - a bold statement of individuality in the world of Audi enthusiasts.

As we left the workshop, the owner invited us to join him for dinner with his production crew. We were treated to a lively evening of conversation and camaraderie, as well as some behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the show. The owner also mentioned that he might be calling us soon to discuss an older five-cylinder Audi project - which we can only assume will be just as exciting.

As we parted ways with the owner, we couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for what's to come. Will we see more of this RS3 in action? And what about that rumored five-cylinder Audi build - will it be as epic as the RS3? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: this owner knows how to make an impression.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enI know I technically said the last video was my last day in Vegas I guess I kind of lied today is really the last day and I just spent some time putting coolant in the cars that way when they get shipped across the country there's no risk of them freezing that actually happened to one car that got transported here I think Texas had like a cold front their car froze their car had distilled water in it and the block froze cracked and they did not have a good time so added some Clue Into the cars and now I'm heading over to go visit iraz if you don't aren't familiar with IRAs they are a legendary Audi shop that built some serious cars and I've been hanging out over there working on my cars but we never have time to play with anything got a spare hour and a half today so I want to go over there check out the shop and more importantly here's some sounds of some sweet glorious five cylinders all right this is Hank how's you going man you are the owner of IRAs I am yep and I have to say I know it's gonna sound weird and I haven't told you this before for whatever reason like drag racing people would you consider yourself a drag or something no not at all all right sorry a big Power big Power people uh scare me I don't know why I thought you'd be this like super old scary guy AI that was mean and you are probably one of the nicest people I've ever met right I appreciate that I've gotten to spend some time here with you and your crew and it has been awesome and I'm very appreciative of the hospitality but now is time to get the tour of what's going on here yeah let's see what's going on here so like you're kind of like me where you like old stuff and you see like we're drag racers like we drag race because that's where a lot of the money is but my passion is really in like I love old mechanical things love circuit racing I could easily be a drift guy uh I just like adrenaline so and I didn't mean that as a disc just like when I think of IRAs I think of the big Power Audis and like like I don't know it's kind of like Titan but in the Audi world right yeah no that's fair because that's kind of like drag strips are an easy way to measure power and reliability and just like it's a very quantifiable discipline where it doesn't really there's not much driver skill in it especially on these DSG dual clutch Transmissions it's just kind of all the talent is in the calibrator not really in the driver but that's not really where our passion is we love road racing we love cars we love old cars new cars I can appreciate a Nissan just so I can appreciate this so this is my first car ever um that that kid over there and the that I brought along with me he was brought home from the hospital in this thing no way yeah so I brought this as like a basket case when I was um when I was probably like 22. it's gone through like four or five different iterations of engines but this kind of started it all because we did this engine swap into it which is basically the engine out of a ttrs swapped from transverse longitudinals to be like somebody doing a 4g63 swap longitudinally okay so this isn't I thought this was this engine this is the oh this is the original engine which is um uh a belt driven and then this is the 07k family which is chain driven off of the back just like the new rs3s and v10s and all that so it's it's a modern engine variable valve all that and then really old car kind of Resto mod thing the only thing that I really know about Audi five cylinders is they sound amazing they sound like v10s but why is it such a popular platform are they super strong are they robust um I think the big thing is is it's you know it's a really small footprint like you you go look at Kyle's NSX over there this thing is the size of a K20 or K24 it's a very small footprint but you have five cylinders worth of displacement and cylinder head is the big thing like these heads will rev take 9000 RPM pretty easily so you throw a little boost at them and if you understand kind of where the head came from it's virtually half of that V10 that comes with a factory warranty with 800 RPM with RPM so you really get this awesome cylinder head this has a cast iron block the new aluminum blocks are way stronger so why have I never seen someone drift with this I'm sure it's something in Europe but is it like hard to control with an ECU is it direct injection what's the deal with it just Americans are Americans they like like Drag Racing for some reason I don't know like this car if you look around the internet you probably see this car sliding around like the hoonigans we we do a lot of drifting with it we've never really drag raced this car man if we have enough time today we should fire it up and go see it I would love to but like I started up this morning just to make sure it would start so it does start so is it inexpensive engine it's not so this is actually the motor the head out of a Jetta so you've ever seen like a Jetta with a 2.5 yeah emblem on the back there it is okay so America got this like watered-down non-direct injected 2.5 in the Jetta to like be the replacement to the 1.8 T back in the day so like your 04 to 12 Jetta or golf had this motor basically but it's very similar to the ttrs motor so this is like a junkyard motor got it so I was wondering because the the newer ones they're Di and direct injection is really hard to control unless you've got a crazy fancy expensive ECU probably a reason why it's not popular for engine swapping old cars correct yeah absolutely and they've come down price a little bit but it's still a really expensive engine um you know most people do like the VR6 which is a much cheaper engine and easy Port injected it's really easy to do just as you said yep um so yeah that's that's kind of the evolution this is the belt driven this is how I started my business is modifying these you know we used to make headers for these I still do um but once upon a time it was me welding these in volume that's how I got through college and then after that we opened a virus Motorsport all right now we keep evolving yeah so this is the the evolution of the Jetta motor so in 17 they came out with what they call the dazza motor and it's just an aluminum block and it's a Powerhouse the bottom end is just monstrous we're doing 1500 wheel horsepower with this with the stock block not rods just stock block stock crank so it's pretty pretty nice um girdle system on the crank and we this particular car I think made 13 20. I love how it literally looks like a stock car even underneath the hood obviously the intake doesn't look stock but there's it doesn't look like there's anything crazy going on yeah that's kind of his scheme of just you know it's powder coated our Billet parts but yeah you're right like this is a California car there's a decent chance you wouldn't get sent to ref maybe I don't know they're good imagine there so you do stuff with v10s as well yeah so if you understand this engine this engine is very similar to it it's just twice the displacement um the engine the transmission controller is identical um so it was fairly easy for us to transition into this car this was the first one or development car and this was also the first car to go sevens on a factory engine it's insane so I went 7.95 at 182 on 100 stock unopened long block all right yeah so this car is the first one to go sevens it went 795 at 182. it's really unopened not on these tires right no I don't know tires like like that all right yeah see this this looks like something that I can see going sevens yeah yeah this is not a sleeper everything else like looks like it could pretty much be a stock car this looks mean yeah so we gotta concentrate on this just real quick because we got to make Colette feel as bad as possible this is the one that got away yeah speak of the devil she just pulled in sorry speaking to Angel how do you like that we're just talking about the one that got away how could you do this to us come in and see this well you're about to go drift a uh an RS3 so yeah so that might fair I can live that's a rundown on this one um it's just coming in we do we try to build two cars a week two thousand horsepower cars a week we're pretty damn good at it did you say 2 000 horsepower cars yeah two one thousand horsepower cars per week is our goal so we try to do them in 14 week schedules so we try to have 28 cars here at all time and I'll show you that in the engine room you'll kind of understand a little bit more that is like for anyone that has ever been around a shop that is insane that many cars like that takes very very good organization I can imagine the invoicing the billing keeping track of things yeah and the space and this is only one of four locations by the way so we're this about 8 000 feet here we have 20 total um let's talk about this real quick and then we'll go tour some of the other ones so the problem with the v10s is you can't keep the front end on the ground when you're drag racing there's just too much weight in the back and so we started with this car to do this concept where we're just trying to move all the weight forward so like the easy button is just to put turbochargers on the factory manifolds back here but that's the opposite of good if you can't keep the front then down you're trying to get all the mass forward and having two 50 pound 80 millimeter turbos is the opposite of what you want there so if you come over here you can see the exhaust here but then if you you peek down in here are your turbo siding in there they are that's sick so they're just sitting down there I love that so I got some some 80 millimeters sitting down there and then all the ice tanks all the fuel tanks everything's in front and then this car is not a street car didn't start off life it's a street car it's just the GT4 LMS car oh wow that and you turn into a drag car yeah the internet's not gonna be happy but I love that good news it's not their money so we can do whatever we want with it but yeah it's full full I mean adjustable pedals it's fire suppression it's it's a race car that's so sick we're kind of hoping that it has like all the turns out of its system like this car should never turn again is that is that like a lighter option than doing an R8 or is it heavier because of the cage well it's it's just safe like yeah so like the carbon tub is a little bit thicker on these it has a proper FIA cage in it not something someone built in their shop or garage like kind of like breathing in life so is this your personal car is this customer car it's my personal car that's sick um so yeah this thing should grip so like the GT4 has got the escape hatch in case things got really hairy they could extract you through the top so it's kind of a cool car for that reason but we're hoping to go sixes with this car in the next 12 months or so look I think personally I'm more interested in the big Power and the old five cylinder stuff but I will not say enough with some drifting right on I'm in all right so I don't know why like drifting just makes people happy but it does it's like the weirdest like childish thing we're like I like to go sideways especially in cars that aren't supposed to yeah yeah so I can get this put the IRAs tune on it and that's exactly how this is from the dealer yeah ready to slide ready I'm just gonna start shooting the drift events in this yeah right it's gonna be good we're good all right I don't really remember the instructions and then hell yes I love hearing this thing sing your all-wheel drive messes with your head so much if I hadn't driven the Evo I probably would have struggled with this but that feeling like you're gonna spin out and then be able to floor it and the car almost just let out yeah skates sideways yeah it's so cool it doesn't get hot or anything I mean so I let Ken Block drive this one it's like cool attempts at 258 bro that's for oil that's your oil tip okay I like chemicals Kim had it up to 285. like the first week I had it foreign foreign but I'm really excited for some of the big power cars so this was this was just the the appetizer but it was such a weird and awesome drifting experience it was so different I I need one do you remember how like focused people used to show up to drift days and they would come and they would drift to focus and like it never really worked right I genuinely think I think you could do it I think you can show up to a drift day with this and people be like what what the what the heck is grandpa doing here with his with his Audi he pulling up to the track unloads four tires from the rear all right now I've been I've been saving this moment I don't know if I told you Hank but I've never driven an eight second car I don't even know that I've driven a low nine second car all right let's do it so what's the what's the deal with this thing we're about to drive so this is a 2020 ttrs it's one of our thousand kits um we pumped these out like crazy that's probably one of the most popular color combos we do these days but we just got back from Bradenton with this exact same power spec on a tire it went 867 at 161. so that's pretty much what we're gonna feel right now uh we tried launching with Colette in it it's a little bit slippery out but we'll see what we can get we'll get out of it right all right let's do it one of the reasons why I don't drive really fast cars is a lot of times where the older Japanese cars and just there's too much room for mechanical error and it makes me extremely nervous this car Andrew Hawkins just drove it and he's like dude it is the safest most straight-line car I've ever driven you'll have no problem so I have full confidence in you and your team to build something awesome yeah let's get it done and uh yeah this is this is where I make bad financial decisions I love how stock it looks inside it literally like you would never know yeah yeah so huge shout out to Robin uh this is his car he's actually from Canada so it's kind of cool because all the all the dials and everything are in Celsius because it's Canadian but he drove it down here from Canada with three dudes in the car like they made a road trip out of it like three two guys back here and it's really tight it's small and uh we built it and he's planning on picking it up and road tripping it back so it's pretty awesome that today oh so he brought it on stock he brought it on bone stock oh I love that and so like it's pretty cool this day and age we live in where you can like drive across country into another country with a thousand horsepower car that goes mid eights and what kind of power does it make on like 91 fuel is it like so does it change yep Maps so it's absolutely Flex Fuel uh 91 it'll do about 630 wheel horsepower on 93 they'll do about 660 and then on E85 this car did I think 10 30. wow it's getting a little dark so sorry for the uh the quality but this was a must before we leave and these are the circumstances that we're belt so yep you can feel the power yeah so when you put flex fuel in this is there any sort of like map switching that needs to happen because I was always so it's all it's all Flex Fuel so before we get going let's just take a look at the um the power meter so like your cruise control stock over here is where a lot all the controls are so right now we're in map one if you bump it up on the cruise control it's map two map three map four map five map fives are thousand horsepower 900 800 700 600. when we do the rolling anti-lag you're gonna pull it towards you and it's going to default to map nine you're gonna floor the car and then you're gonna let go and it's gonna go back to whatever map you're in so on the power meter that's showing your ethanol content did you develop all this yeah that's crazy yeah with cyvex um we worked with them for the last few years and so it's not a stock ECU it's a 5x yep okay yeah and I imagine they have all the can strategies and everything yep everything's well integrated um so it's kind of like what they do with all the crazy turbo Lamborghinis and the same concept yep okay so we'll go into manual oh um so it'll auto shift itself okay even though it's in manual you do have to do the up shifts so to go from third to second second to first you have to do it or you can manually shift just like this if you desire um as long as you execute the shift before 8 000 it'll um it'll do it for it'll do it via your commands but if you just let it go it'll shift by itself okay um we let it rev to about 84 8 500 in second gear but the rest of them are 8100 that's right it might as well be a V10 sounds good huh you left and then you're not going to shift at all you're gonna let auto ship okay but go there pull the cruise control stock towards you flora and teleport three seconds ago Jesus Christ dude they hit so hard these things must be a weapon for Roll Racing they are there are many many egos that have been broken by hairdressers yeah I bet they it's good huh it's real good and launch control sounds like it's barely building boosts like it didn't seem like it was gonna hit that hard in them it was all there yeah that's cool so that that was a thousand horsepower right there that was the horsepower right there man it didn't even spin straight that's straight come to a stop and let's turn it down to like map too what kind of 0-60 was that that's probably like that's probably like a two three two four that's crazy and what's that what's the 6130 this car will do it in probably about three eight and three seven three eight and what is so like this car let's just say roughly they cost like 65 70 grand what is the package this is about forty five thousand dollars so you're like 100 Grand and just to say on paper it's faster than Turbo S that's yeah 100 plus yeah so like that Turbo S that was on the show Martin's we we did a roll race on the same row and it was buses rolling back towards you foreign yeah I feel like I would be the customer that would get this and then would call you up like yeah like two weeks later I look dude it happens frequently I need more yeah I can imagine all right we got to have our funding before it got dark but we still got three more buildings to see I'm intrigued more than anything you see the engine building room but what is this department right all right so this is where all the service goes down um you know cars like this you can tell all of them have wheel gaps in them because this is where they come in they get their Motors ripped out of them um they get put in the engine room and start to get torn down all the parts shelves are out here these are all designating um each shelf is basically one engine that we're in progress and it's 12 to 14 week cycle I love that we actually started doing the same thing and just being able to roll it out of the way because before we would use tables and then whenever something gets moved it's like impossible to keep track so like one build per cart I was admiring before your drive shaft shelf yeah is that is there like a structural reason do they put strain on them laying on the ground or is it purely for space it's a space just trying to make space in a shop and Transmissions underneath them just you know we built those as to where we can kind of consolidate the stuff and uh not take up a bunch of floor rooms so it's funny I see so many cool cars but I walk around to shops and I see these like organizational details yeah and that's what I'm like man that's so cool yeah yeah yeah when I went to school for mechanical engineering for like the first like year and a half of college this is what I wanted to do yeah but then I learned that there was a really really big chance that I was probably gonna end up working for like Lockheed Martin or Siemens doing paperwork and that's like you know what my business is going kind of well I think I'm gonna double down in that but I I admire it and uh this is you're doing exactly what I wanted to do right on when I didn't know that I could make YouTube a profession yeah right I love it so like here is um a portion of the engine room um so if you come over here and just look at all these cranks these are all designated for current clients like I said we try to keep about 14 week schedules two weeks so 28 cars is what we're trying to do at once there's looks like there's about 20 cranks there what uh what power do you run the OE cranks up to I've never broke one really ever wow knock on wood but yeah we've done 1500 wheel horsepower with them we've traveled 180 in the quarter mile and pretty heavy cars so like they're pretty crazy so we start sleeving them around 850 900 foot pounds of torque you know so these are sleeves that we put into them they're like it looks pretty light if you're just picking it does that easy yeah it's super light and then like like it has cross-bolted Mains they're they're they don't even look Billet are they are they they're not fast they're cast you run cast Mains yeah a thousand horsepower yeah we don't put Arps in them it's crazy like I'm swearings come out just mint I'm so used to Jay-Z stuff yeah yeah and like you pull these Mains off uh we're gonna have time to do it now that's okay they're all pinned like they're dowled and then they're all like they laser etch them so it has like it feels like a fingernail file to keep them from from fretting huh so it's like a really just Stout bottom end all right so there's in here's where actually all the final assembly work goes you know I've ever seen sea machines and hones and and balancers it's in another facility but here it's climate controlled we make sure that you know we measure everything right before it's going going together everything's blueprinted we keep good notes um it's very cookie cutter mode we're putting together it's sleeved so this is probably I don't know whose it is but my guess is this is something over 11 1200 horsepower because I see sleeves and I see these je Ultras in them so pretty cool do you uh do you ever do Strokers is that a thing we don't really mostly because um the girdle and all that stuff is so integrated there's not room so we don't have to really design some stuff to be able to do it and it's already kind of a long stroke at 92.8 and so like you probably could do like a 95 or even 100 but it's a pretty crap Rod ratio as is I was gonna say the the board doesn't look that much bigger is that an 86 82 and a half okay so it's even smaller yeah wow and that's why it's so compact like we were talking earlier like this is smaller than a k-series huh so anywhere you can put a K series you can put one of these in it so if you de-stroke them could you rev higher yeah so I've never really seen a byproduct of I mean we're running out of turbos currently like we're putting 76 millimeter turbos on things that we run out of Turbo before we run out of RPM so maybe if we were starting to play with like 80 millimeter turbos got it because the head just flows that well so you don't even need it it's just the Huracan head so they flow pretty darn well so like this is the rear cover for for instance for like the Huracan but we start needing so much fuel for them that we need mechanical fuel pumps whenever you see mechanical fuel pumps on the build that's when you don't mess with it that's like The Telltale side that's it so like that's things that we do here is we try to figure out ways to be clever and we run this just right off of the the cam gear uh off the back of the cam and that's how we Supply field of these really big builds so you'd have just like a lift pump that would send fuel just to make sure that it's primed and then the mechanical fuel pump God like that's you could probably get 3 000 horsepower fuel with one of those huh yeah and you can start playing with methanol and stuff like that so yes this is where we're doing all of our transmission work so this is like a a gear set from a Huracan you know this will get dots and Billet gears one through seven um drop gears and all that like those Transmissions to put up with 2200 horsepower that can quickly turn into a 70 80 000 transmission like they are so expensive and they we still break them so like that's the beauty of the rs3s is those Transmissions are absolute tanks they don't care are those ones do dual clutch or is it a true Auto yes they're both dual clutches both the R8 and the RS3 and it's a very similar controller that's why we've we've had pretty good luck with going fast with the R8s already probably a six sixteen thousand dollar core so a 16 000 core but all the stuff inside of it that's a hundred thousand dollar transmission up on like 80 90. if you include the core price the transmission you know how many SR20 Transmissions that you get for that probably like well I guess it depends if it's pre-covered or postcoded everything got taxed did it happen to you guys too absolutely just across the parking lot we got another building so this is the first building I ever had this is where it all started this welding bench over here is the first piece of equipment I bought this welder was the first thing that I had this is before we had any employees um so a lot 10 years ago it's just me myself and I welding here and I started off making manifolds that was like my thing I found through college to get my degree to put myself and my wife through college and when I got out I'm like I think I could start a business doing this instead of going to work for the man so that's what I did um moved down here and opened up the shop and we just kind of expanded but I mean these are all these are beautiful for the you know that car we understand the blue car has one of these and we serialize them so yeah 500 and 543 it's insane we should probably cast them yeah man your dudes are machines huh yeah yeah yeah so yeah just assembly line work you know all the down pipes waiting for tie-ins for the wastegates and you know these ones haven't had the wastegates cut in them yet I'm sure that's on the docket for the week I like that uh you've still managed to keep it all in house and haven't sent it overseas because I feel like so many companies it is the quality when they do that yeah I mean I'm a pretty American I I you know I really like giving Americans jobs I like to grow our economy and um you know it's we could definitely make more money if we sold out and did it like that but I I really like uh we're pretty proud of being Americans and being able to do it all here in-house and we can control our own destiny too we can you know anytime you're dealing with a supplier there's always a chance that it's not your standards or anything like that so I love the packaging so we do cool stuff like this so like this is your package guy yeah for sure so like these are um these are e-brake kits for the Huracan and R8 what so that you can run 17s in the rear so like the the brake ends up being the the thing that hits on 17 so like we came up with these clever little calipers so you can run 17s and still have like your electronic brake so it's just like Solutions like that that we're keen on making and it's such a weird random obscure thing like imagine like 10 plus years ago I mean I don't know how long it was before people were going that faster than needed 17s the idea of selling uh aftermarket tiny break for these V10 cars yeah so they could fit a drag Tire on it yeah just cool stuff like this where you know we're pretty expensive like nobody's more expensive than our parts but it does afford us to do cool things like you know instead of putting just a big intercooler in front of the the car like we've scanned this with our we have a romper arm 3D scanner and then we make cool sheet metal to where everything is forced into the intercooler um like even little cool small details like The Grommet for the temp sensor it comes through here and then it's sealed off to where everything is forced through the core it's like seven percent more efficiency but that's cool right what uh what type of Clans what we only use Garrett Coors here at Iris Motorsport yeah because they are the best handstand look even though I I'm honestly have no interest but I'm not like I'm not your Target demographic customer but I'm getting ideas and I'm really digging I don't want to call the assembly line work but the packaging of everything yeah yeah so like we pre-clock everything we pre-install lines pretty much you put this our manifold in the car and you put this up and everything just fits and it kind of takes the guesswork out of it for clients and shops like it's perfect coming right out of the box and we're not gonna have any boost leaks with these either no no no we've learned our lesson over the years we want everything to be hardlined uh Mac fouls we make it all mounted to the turbo I hate that we don't have more time because I I feel like we could spend a whole video just talking about this thing this is the the wildest thing I've ever seen and I had no idea that these KTM crossbows come with a five cylinderman yeah yeah so like that's why that's why it's our bread and butter it's the daza it's the 2.5 kfs it's the same motor that's out of the RS3 uh hey remember uh remember us talking about you know the front wheel drive limitations and stuff yeah this is rear engine yeah so would this be something that you would want to make your next drag car really this isn't going to be a truck here we just we just ordered a 76.85 for this car so it's it's probably going to be 13 1400 horsepower here shortly but I can't imagine seeing it on the drag strip this is not the road legal one this is the the track one yeah in fact this is a GT2 this is the only one in the country right now so this is like the yeah I can't believe you're gonna turn into a drag car the internet's not gonna be happy but again it's not their money so um but yeah it's just the five cylinder so these have sequential hollingers in them but we'll put the DQ we'll put the Dual clutch in it instead of the the Hollinger just because it's a much stronger transmission it's like a third of the price and and we know how to control them real well let me know uh where you're gonna throw out the old transmission so I can steal it from you yeah okay sounds good yeah so this thing dude is it's 2400 pounds that's what you need man like there's there's all your weight that you hold me back from going what seven sixes what's the goal I mean I mean it's so funny because like the the rep for the general manager of KTM was here about a month ago maybe they want us to build engines for their program and um like I was trying to explain to him Americans he's like no the Americans won't buy this if it's a road car like they won't they don't go the track often enough and I'm like you don't understand I know like 40 stos and they all have turbos on them and then converted to all-wheel drive like Americans are just different like yeah you're not wrong yeah it's just different like so like this scope this guy could have easily bought an sto put turbos on it but it just wants to be different like the canopy is so cool like come on man man I'm so stoked now that I know it's gonna be a drag car when it was a track car it was really cool but that that is gonna be sick I love this blue it's cool yeah yeah I can't believe how big the intake is do you actually like see gains of having the diameter that's so long you know it's just like anything whether it's electrical or you know the longer your length the more struggle you have to get things through it so yeah I know what I just said yeah I see what you did there he just sees me he couldn't run behind the camera was waiting for it so like uh you do see big gains on him we used to run a lot of like four or four and a half and the five inches is definitely a game just because it's so long of a track to get there and it's tucked behind the engine so you know any any pause you know any gain in ambient temperature Inlet pressure pays huge dividends and turbochargers interesting interesting interesting this thing's pretty famous I thought you were gonna put the video of the car running and it's someone with it tattooed on them dude that's the thigh like that is not a small tattoo yeah so like this car is pretty iconic in the Audi world so it's the first car the only RS3 to go seven so far this car beat Ken Blocks Hoon again or unicorn back in the day um so it's the first car it's kind of the car that that I developed all the parts on from a distance it it doesn't like from here when you can't tell that it's wrapped it kind of just looks like a stock car yeah and these are like filling the doors like the Kevlar doors and you're like oh yeah it's a race car oh my God you don't obviously drive it on these tires right yeah we run them on 15-inch bead locks and you know fire Supply tires so that's so funny oh yeah now I can see yeah it goes fast how much power does this one make uh 1470 is what it's making right now it went Sevens at about 12.50 so it should go a little faster next time we have it out that's cool it's trying to it's starting to eat at Fourth gears We Need A Little Bit Stronger for gear I really really appreciate you taking the time to show me around I'm sorry I was kind of rushed we literally we have our final it's a wrap I don't know that's what it's called our wrap dinner just with the whole production crew that we had for the show we've obviously been out here for a while I appreciate the hospitality again and as cool as all these newer Audis are I have a feeling in the near future I might be calling you about some older five cylinder stuff yeah man it's really it's really too sad we had a very limited time because we should have ripped the Quattro I mean we should have ripped it there's a transport truck taking all my cars to Florida if you want to just throw it on there yeah I can warm it up for you you know you want to fly in take it to Disney World let's go we should just go start it up as the exit all right it's gonna be like the the teaser for next time you come to Vegas for the river well I'll have it ready we'll go play with it or the teaser for my next build maybe there you go I like it all right let's start it up all right here she is when's the last time this thing's been fired up so I I fired it up this morning just to make sure it would but it's been about a year since I've driven it I think the last time I drove it was when we were like hooning it at uh the SEMA thing for Hoon again where they had like that burn yard so like I don't drive in a ton anymore just so freaking busy but next time you're in Vegas we're gonna rip this thing all right all right I'll hold you too all right let's see if we can get it to start at least oh God a cam and hate starting up because it's cold but uh it's fun it makes like I think it's 9 30 wheel horsepower it's like 2 700 pounds so it gets it that's way more than I expected well thank you for the awesome shop tour I appreciate it I gotta get out of here hopefully I'll see you soon really yeah they hit it so hardI know I technically said the last video was my last day in Vegas I guess I kind of lied today is really the last day and I just spent some time putting coolant in the cars that way when they get shipped across the country there's no risk of them freezing that actually happened to one car that got transported here I think Texas had like a cold front their car froze their car had distilled water in it and the block froze cracked and they did not have a good time so added some Clue Into the cars and now I'm heading over to go visit iraz if you don't aren't familiar with IRAs they are a legendary Audi shop that built some serious cars and I've been hanging out over there working on my cars but we never have time to play with anything got a spare hour and a half today so I want to go over there check out the shop and more importantly here's some sounds of some sweet glorious five cylinders all right this is Hank how's you going man you are the owner of IRAs I am yep and I have to say I know it's gonna sound weird and I haven't told you this before for whatever reason like drag racing people would you consider yourself a drag or something no not at all all right sorry a big Power big Power people uh scare me I don't know why I thought you'd be this like super old scary guy AI that was mean and you are probably one of the nicest people I've ever met right I appreciate that I've gotten to spend some time here with you and your crew and it has been awesome and I'm very appreciative of the hospitality but now is time to get the tour of what's going on here yeah let's see what's going on here so like you're kind of like me where you like old stuff and you see like we're drag racers like we drag race because that's where a lot of the money is but my passion is really in like I love old mechanical things love circuit racing I could easily be a drift guy uh I just like adrenaline so and I didn't mean that as a disc just like when I think of IRAs I think of the big Power Audis and like like I don't know it's kind of like Titan but in the Audi world right yeah no that's fair because that's kind of like drag strips are an easy way to measure power and reliability and just like it's a very quantifiable discipline where it doesn't really there's not much driver skill in it especially on these DSG dual clutch Transmissions it's just kind of all the talent is in the calibrator not really in the driver but that's not really where our passion is we love road racing we love cars we love old cars new cars I can appreciate a Nissan just so I can appreciate this so this is my first car ever um that that kid over there and the that I brought along with me he was brought home from the hospital in this thing no way yeah so I brought this as like a basket case when I was um when I was probably like 22. it's gone through like four or five different iterations of engines but this kind of started it all because we did this engine swap into it which is basically the engine out of a ttrs swapped from transverse longitudinals to be like somebody doing a 4g63 swap longitudinally okay so this isn't I thought this was this engine this is the oh this is the original engine which is um uh a belt driven and then this is the 07k family which is chain driven off of the back just like the new rs3s and v10s and all that so it's it's a modern engine variable valve all that and then really old car kind of Resto mod thing the only thing that I really know about Audi five cylinders is they sound amazing they sound like v10s but why is it such a popular platform are they super strong are they robust um I think the big thing is is it's you know it's a really small footprint like you you go look at Kyle's NSX over there this thing is the size of a K20 or K24 it's a very small footprint but you have five cylinders worth of displacement and cylinder head is the big thing like these heads will rev take 9000 RPM pretty easily so you throw a little boost at them and if you understand kind of where the head came from it's virtually half of that V10 that comes with a factory warranty with 800 RPM with RPM so you really get this awesome cylinder head this has a cast iron block the new aluminum blocks are way stronger so why have I never seen someone drift with this I'm sure it's something in Europe but is it like hard to control with an ECU is it direct injection what's the deal with it just Americans are Americans they like like Drag Racing for some reason I don't know like this car if you look around the internet you probably see this car sliding around like the hoonigans we we do a lot of drifting with it we've never really drag raced this car man if we have enough time today we should fire it up and go see it I would love to but like I started up this morning just to make sure it would start so it does start so is it inexpensive engine it's not so this is actually the motor the head out of a Jetta so you've ever seen like a Jetta with a 2.5 yeah emblem on the back there it is okay so America got this like watered-down non-direct injected 2.5 in the Jetta to like be the replacement to the 1.8 T back in the day so like your 04 to 12 Jetta or golf had this motor basically but it's very similar to the ttrs motor so this is like a junkyard motor got it so I was wondering because the the newer ones they're Di and direct injection is really hard to control unless you've got a crazy fancy expensive ECU probably a reason why it's not popular for engine swapping old cars correct yeah absolutely and they've come down price a little bit but it's still a really expensive engine um you know most people do like the VR6 which is a much cheaper engine and easy Port injected it's really easy to do just as you said yep um so yeah that's that's kind of the evolution this is the belt driven this is how I started my business is modifying these you know we used to make headers for these I still do um but once upon a time it was me welding these in volume that's how I got through college and then after that we opened a virus Motorsport all right now we keep evolving yeah so this is the the evolution of the Jetta motor so in 17 they came out with what they call the dazza motor and it's just an aluminum block and it's a Powerhouse the bottom end is just monstrous we're doing 1500 wheel horsepower with this with the stock block not rods just stock block stock crank so it's pretty pretty nice um girdle system on the crank and we this particular car I think made 13 20. I love how it literally looks like a stock car even underneath the hood obviously the intake doesn't look stock but there's it doesn't look like there's anything crazy going on yeah that's kind of his scheme of just you know it's powder coated our Billet parts but yeah you're right like this is a California car there's a decent chance you wouldn't get sent to ref maybe I don't know they're good imagine there so you do stuff with v10s as well yeah so if you understand this engine this engine is very similar to it it's just twice the displacement um the engine the transmission controller is identical um so it was fairly easy for us to transition into this car this was the first one or development car and this was also the first car to go sevens on a factory engine it's insane so I went 7.95 at 182 on 100 stock unopened long block all right yeah so this car is the first one to go sevens it went 795 at 182. it's really unopened not on these tires right no I don't know tires like like that all right yeah see this this looks like something that I can see going sevens yeah yeah this is not a sleeper everything else like looks like it could pretty much be a stock car this looks mean yeah so we gotta concentrate on this just real quick because we got to make Colette feel as bad as possible this is the one that got away yeah speak of the devil she just pulled in sorry speaking to Angel how do you like that we're just talking about the one that got away how could you do this to us come in and see this well you're about to go drift a uh an RS3 so yeah so that might fair I can live that's a rundown on this one um it's just coming in we do we try to build two cars a week two thousand horsepower cars a week we're pretty damn good at it did you say 2 000 horsepower cars yeah two one thousand horsepower cars per week is our goal so we try to do them in 14 week schedules so we try to have 28 cars here at all time and I'll show you that in the engine room you'll kind of understand a little bit more that is like for anyone that has ever been around a shop that is insane that many cars like that takes very very good organization I can imagine the invoicing the billing keeping track of things yeah and the space and this is only one of four locations by the way so we're this about 8 000 feet here we have 20 total um let's talk about this real quick and then we'll go tour some of the other ones so the problem with the v10s is you can't keep the front end on the ground when you're drag racing there's just too much weight in the back and so we started with this car to do this concept where we're just trying to move all the weight forward so like the easy button is just to put turbochargers on the factory manifolds back here but that's the opposite of good if you can't keep the front then down you're trying to get all the mass forward and having two 50 pound 80 millimeter turbos is the opposite of what you want there so if you come over here you can see the exhaust here but then if you you peek down in here are your turbo siding in there they are that's sick so they're just sitting down there I love that so I got some some 80 millimeters sitting down there and then all the ice tanks all the fuel tanks everything's in front and then this car is not a street car didn't start off life it's a street car it's just the GT4 LMS car oh wow that and you turn into a drag car yeah the internet's not gonna be happy but I love that good news it's not their money so we can do whatever we want with it but yeah it's full full I mean adjustable pedals it's fire suppression it's it's a race car that's so sick we're kind of hoping that it has like all the turns out of its system like this car should never turn again is that is that like a lighter option than doing an R8 or is it heavier because of the cage well it's it's just safe like yeah so like the carbon tub is a little bit thicker on these it has a proper FIA cage in it not something someone built in their shop or garage like kind of like breathing in life so is this your personal car is this customer car it's my personal car that's sick um so yeah this thing should grip so like the GT4 has got the escape hatch in case things got really hairy they could extract you through the top so it's kind of a cool car for that reason but we're hoping to go sixes with this car in the next 12 months or so look I think personally I'm more interested in the big Power and the old five cylinder stuff but I will not say enough with some drifting right on I'm in all right so I don't know why like drifting just makes people happy but it does it's like the weirdest like childish thing we're like I like to go sideways especially in cars that aren't supposed to yeah yeah so I can get this put the IRAs tune on it and that's exactly how this is from the dealer yeah ready to slide ready I'm just gonna start shooting the drift events in this yeah right it's gonna be good we're good all right I don't really remember the instructions and then hell yes I love hearing this thing sing your all-wheel drive messes with your head so much if I hadn't driven the Evo I probably would have struggled with this but that feeling like you're gonna spin out and then be able to floor it and the car almost just let out yeah skates sideways yeah it's so cool it doesn't get hot or anything I mean so I let Ken Block drive this one it's like cool attempts at 258 bro that's for oil that's your oil tip okay I like chemicals Kim had it up to 285. like the first week I had it foreign foreign but I'm really excited for some of the big power cars so this was this was just the the appetizer but it was such a weird and awesome drifting experience it was so different I I need one do you remember how like focused people used to show up to drift days and they would come and they would drift to focus and like it never really worked right I genuinely think I think you could do it I think you can show up to a drift day with this and people be like what what the what the heck is grandpa doing here with his with his Audi he pulling up to the track unloads four tires from the rear all right now I've been I've been saving this moment I don't know if I told you Hank but I've never driven an eight second car I don't even know that I've driven a low nine second car all right let's do it so what's the what's the deal with this thing we're about to drive so this is a 2020 ttrs it's one of our thousand kits um we pumped these out like crazy that's probably one of the most popular color combos we do these days but we just got back from Bradenton with this exact same power spec on a tire it went 867 at 161. so that's pretty much what we're gonna feel right now uh we tried launching with Colette in it it's a little bit slippery out but we'll see what we can get we'll get out of it right all right let's do it one of the reasons why I don't drive really fast cars is a lot of times where the older Japanese cars and just there's too much room for mechanical error and it makes me extremely nervous this car Andrew Hawkins just drove it and he's like dude it is the safest most straight-line car I've ever driven you'll have no problem so I have full confidence in you and your team to build something awesome yeah let's get it done and uh yeah this is this is where I make bad financial decisions I love how stock it looks inside it literally like you would never know yeah yeah so huge shout out to Robin uh this is his car he's actually from Canada so it's kind of cool because all the all the dials and everything are in Celsius because it's Canadian but he drove it down here from Canada with three dudes in the car like they made a road trip out of it like three two guys back here and it's really tight it's small and uh we built it and he's planning on picking it up and road tripping it back so it's pretty awesome that today oh so he brought it on stock he brought it on bone stock oh I love that and so like it's pretty cool this day and age we live in where you can like drive across country into another country with a thousand horsepower car that goes mid eights and what kind of power does it make on like 91 fuel is it like so does it change yep Maps so it's absolutely Flex Fuel uh 91 it'll do about 630 wheel horsepower on 93 they'll do about 660 and then on E85 this car did I think 10 30. wow it's getting a little dark so sorry for the uh the quality but this was a must before we leave and these are the circumstances that we're belt so yep you can feel the power yeah so when you put flex fuel in this is there any sort of like map switching that needs to happen because I was always so it's all it's all Flex Fuel so before we get going let's just take a look at the um the power meter so like your cruise control stock over here is where a lot all the controls are so right now we're in map one if you bump it up on the cruise control it's map two map three map four map five map fives are thousand horsepower 900 800 700 600. when we do the rolling anti-lag you're gonna pull it towards you and it's going to default to map nine you're gonna floor the car and then you're gonna let go and it's gonna go back to whatever map you're in so on the power meter that's showing your ethanol content did you develop all this yeah that's crazy yeah with cyvex um we worked with them for the last few years and so it's not a stock ECU it's a 5x yep okay yeah and I imagine they have all the can strategies and everything yep everything's well integrated um so it's kind of like what they do with all the crazy turbo Lamborghinis and the same concept yep okay so we'll go into manual oh um so it'll auto shift itself okay even though it's in manual you do have to do the up shifts so to go from third to second second to first you have to do it or you can manually shift just like this if you desire um as long as you execute the shift before 8 000 it'll um it'll do it for it'll do it via your commands but if you just let it go it'll shift by itself okay um we let it rev to about 84 8 500 in second gear but the rest of them are 8100 that's right it might as well be a V10 sounds good huh you left and then you're not going to shift at all you're gonna let auto ship okay but go there pull the cruise control stock towards you flora and teleport three seconds ago Jesus Christ dude they hit so hard these things must be a weapon for Roll Racing they are there are many many egos that have been broken by hairdressers yeah I bet they it's good huh it's real good and launch control sounds like it's barely building boosts like it didn't seem like it was gonna hit that hard in them it was all there yeah that's cool so that that was a thousand horsepower right there that was the horsepower right there man it didn't even spin straight that's straight come to a stop and let's turn it down to like map too what kind of 0-60 was that that's probably like that's probably like a two three two four that's crazy and what's that what's the 6130 this car will do it in probably about three eight and three seven three eight and what is so like this car let's just say roughly they cost like 65 70 grand what is the package this is about forty five thousand dollars so you're like 100 Grand and just to say on paper it's faster than Turbo S that's yeah 100 plus yeah so like that Turbo S that was on the show Martin's we we did a roll race on the same row and it was buses rolling back towards you foreign yeah I feel like I would be the customer that would get this and then would call you up like yeah like two weeks later I look dude it happens frequently I need more yeah I can imagine all right we got to have our funding before it got dark but we still got three more buildings to see I'm intrigued more than anything you see the engine building room but what is this department right all right so this is where all the service goes down um you know cars like this you can tell all of them have wheel gaps in them because this is where they come in they get their Motors ripped out of them um they get put in the engine room and start to get torn down all the parts shelves are out here these are all designating um each shelf is basically one engine that we're in progress and it's 12 to 14 week cycle I love that we actually started doing the same thing and just being able to roll it out of the way because before we would use tables and then whenever something gets moved it's like impossible to keep track so like one build per cart I was admiring before your drive shaft shelf yeah is that is there like a structural reason do they put strain on them laying on the ground or is it purely for space it's a space just trying to make space in a shop and Transmissions underneath them just you know we built those as to where we can kind of consolidate the stuff and uh not take up a bunch of floor rooms so it's funny I see so many cool cars but I walk around to shops and I see these like organizational details yeah and that's what I'm like man that's so cool yeah yeah yeah when I went to school for mechanical engineering for like the first like year and a half of college this is what I wanted to do yeah but then I learned that there was a really really big chance that I was probably gonna end up working for like Lockheed Martin or Siemens doing paperwork and that's like you know what my business is going kind of well I think I'm gonna double down in that but I I admire it and uh this is you're doing exactly what I wanted to do right on when I didn't know that I could make YouTube a profession yeah right I love it so like here is um a portion of the engine room um so if you come over here and just look at all these cranks these are all designated for current clients like I said we try to keep about 14 week schedules two weeks so 28 cars is what we're trying to do at once there's looks like there's about 20 cranks there what uh what power do you run the OE cranks up to I've never broke one really ever wow knock on wood but yeah we've done 1500 wheel horsepower with them we've traveled 180 in the quarter mile and pretty heavy cars so like they're pretty crazy so we start sleeving them around 850 900 foot pounds of torque you know so these are sleeves that we put into them they're like it looks pretty light if you're just picking it does that easy yeah it's super light and then like like it has cross-bolted Mains they're they're they don't even look Billet are they are they they're not fast they're cast you run cast Mains yeah a thousand horsepower yeah we don't put Arps in them it's crazy like I'm swearings come out just mint I'm so used to Jay-Z stuff yeah yeah and like you pull these Mains off uh we're gonna have time to do it now that's okay they're all pinned like they're dowled and then they're all like they laser etch them so it has like it feels like a fingernail file to keep them from from fretting huh so it's like a really just Stout bottom end all right so there's in here's where actually all the final assembly work goes you know I've ever seen sea machines and hones and and balancers it's in another facility but here it's climate controlled we make sure that you know we measure everything right before it's going going together everything's blueprinted we keep good notes um it's very cookie cutter mode we're putting together it's sleeved so this is probably I don't know whose it is but my guess is this is something over 11 1200 horsepower because I see sleeves and I see these je Ultras in them so pretty cool do you uh do you ever do Strokers is that a thing we don't really mostly because um the girdle and all that stuff is so integrated there's not room so we don't have to really design some stuff to be able to do it and it's already kind of a long stroke at 92.8 and so like you probably could do like a 95 or even 100 but it's a pretty crap Rod ratio as is I was gonna say the the board doesn't look that much bigger is that an 86 82 and a half okay so it's even smaller yeah wow and that's why it's so compact like we were talking earlier like this is smaller than a k-series huh so anywhere you can put a K series you can put one of these in it so if you de-stroke them could you rev higher yeah so I've never really seen a byproduct of I mean we're running out of turbos currently like we're putting 76 millimeter turbos on things that we run out of Turbo before we run out of RPM so maybe if we were starting to play with like 80 millimeter turbos got it because the head just flows that well so you don't even need it it's just the Huracan head so they flow pretty darn well so like this is the rear cover for for instance for like the Huracan but we start needing so much fuel for them that we need mechanical fuel pumps whenever you see mechanical fuel pumps on the build that's when you don't mess with it that's like The Telltale side that's it so like that's things that we do here is we try to figure out ways to be clever and we run this just right off of the the cam gear uh off the back of the cam and that's how we Supply field of these really big builds so you'd have just like a lift pump that would send fuel just to make sure that it's primed and then the mechanical fuel pump God like that's you could probably get 3 000 horsepower fuel with one of those huh yeah and you can start playing with methanol and stuff like that so yes this is where we're doing all of our transmission work so this is like a a gear set from a Huracan you know this will get dots and Billet gears one through seven um drop gears and all that like those Transmissions to put up with 2200 horsepower that can quickly turn into a 70 80 000 transmission like they are so expensive and they we still break them so like that's the beauty of the rs3s is those Transmissions are absolute tanks they don't care are those ones do dual clutch or is it a true Auto yes they're both dual clutches both the R8 and the RS3 and it's a very similar controller that's why we've we've had pretty good luck with going fast with the R8s already probably a six sixteen thousand dollar core so a 16 000 core but all the stuff inside of it that's a hundred thousand dollar transmission up on like 80 90. if you include the core price the transmission you know how many SR20 Transmissions that you get for that probably like well I guess it depends if it's pre-covered or postcoded everything got taxed did it happen to you guys too absolutely just across the parking lot we got another building so this is the first building I ever had this is where it all started this welding bench over here is the first piece of equipment I bought this welder was the first thing that I had this is before we had any employees um so a lot 10 years ago it's just me myself and I welding here and I started off making manifolds that was like my thing I found through college to get my degree to put myself and my wife through college and when I got out I'm like I think I could start a business doing this instead of going to work for the man so that's what I did um moved down here and opened up the shop and we just kind of expanded but I mean these are all these are beautiful for the you know that car we understand the blue car has one of these and we serialize them so yeah 500 and 543 it's insane we should probably cast them yeah man your dudes are machines huh yeah yeah yeah so yeah just assembly line work you know all the down pipes waiting for tie-ins for the wastegates and you know these ones haven't had the wastegates cut in them yet I'm sure that's on the docket for the week I like that uh you've still managed to keep it all in house and haven't sent it overseas because I feel like so many companies it is the quality when they do that yeah I mean I'm a pretty American I I you know I really like giving Americans jobs I like to grow our economy and um you know it's we could definitely make more money if we sold out and did it like that but I I really like uh we're pretty proud of being Americans and being able to do it all here in-house and we can control our own destiny too we can you know anytime you're dealing with a supplier there's always a chance that it's not your standards or anything like that so I love the packaging so we do cool stuff like this so like this is your package guy yeah for sure so like these are um these are e-brake kits for the Huracan and R8 what so that you can run 17s in the rear so like the the brake ends up being the the thing that hits on 17 so like we came up with these clever little calipers so you can run 17s and still have like your electronic brake so it's just like Solutions like that that we're keen on making and it's such a weird random obscure thing like imagine like 10 plus years ago I mean I don't know how long it was before people were going that faster than needed 17s the idea of selling uh aftermarket tiny break for these V10 cars yeah so they could fit a drag Tire on it yeah just cool stuff like this where you know we're pretty expensive like nobody's more expensive than our parts but it does afford us to do cool things like you know instead of putting just a big intercooler in front of the the car like we've scanned this with our we have a romper arm 3D scanner and then we make cool sheet metal to where everything is forced into the intercooler um like even little cool small details like The Grommet for the temp sensor it comes through here and then it's sealed off to where everything is forced through the core it's like seven percent more efficiency but that's cool right what uh what type of Clans what we only use Garrett Coors here at Iris Motorsport yeah because they are the best handstand look even though I I'm honestly have no interest but I'm not like I'm not your Target demographic customer but I'm getting ideas and I'm really digging I don't want to call the assembly line work but the packaging of everything yeah yeah so like we pre-clock everything we pre-install lines pretty much you put this our manifold in the car and you put this up and everything just fits and it kind of takes the guesswork out of it for clients and shops like it's perfect coming right out of the box and we're not gonna have any boost leaks with these either no no no we've learned our lesson over the years we want everything to be hardlined uh Mac fouls we make it all mounted to the turbo I hate that we don't have more time because I I feel like we could spend a whole video just talking about this thing this is the the wildest thing I've ever seen and I had no idea that these KTM crossbows come with a five cylinderman yeah yeah so like that's why that's why it's our bread and butter it's the daza it's the 2.5 kfs it's the same motor that's out of the RS3 uh hey remember uh remember us talking about you know the front wheel drive limitations and stuff yeah this is rear engine yeah so would this be something that you would want to make your next drag car really this isn't going to be a truck here we just we just ordered a 76.85 for this car so it's it's probably going to be 13 1400 horsepower here shortly but I can't imagine seeing it on the drag strip this is not the road legal one this is the the track one yeah in fact this is a GT2 this is the only one in the country right now so this is like the yeah I can't believe you're gonna turn into a drag car the internet's not gonna be happy but again it's not their money so um but yeah it's just the five cylinder so these have sequential hollingers in them but we'll put the DQ we'll put the Dual clutch in it instead of the the Hollinger just because it's a much stronger transmission it's like a third of the price and and we know how to control them real well let me know uh where you're gonna throw out the old transmission so I can steal it from you yeah okay sounds good yeah so this thing dude is it's 2400 pounds that's what you need man like there's there's all your weight that you hold me back from going what seven sixes what's the goal I mean I mean it's so funny because like the the rep for the general manager of KTM was here about a month ago maybe they want us to build engines for their program and um like I was trying to explain to him Americans he's like no the Americans won't buy this if it's a road car like they won't they don't go the track often enough and I'm like you don't understand I know like 40 stos and they all have turbos on them and then converted to all-wheel drive like Americans are just different like yeah you're not wrong yeah it's just different like so like this scope this guy could have easily bought an sto put turbos on it but it just wants to be different like the canopy is so cool like come on man man I'm so stoked now that I know it's gonna be a drag car when it was a track car it was really cool but that that is gonna be sick I love this blue it's cool yeah yeah I can't believe how big the intake is do you actually like see gains of having the diameter that's so long you know it's just like anything whether it's electrical or you know the longer your length the more struggle you have to get things through it so yeah I know what I just said yeah I see what you did there he just sees me he couldn't run behind the camera was waiting for it so like uh you do see big gains on him we used to run a lot of like four or four and a half and the five inches is definitely a game just because it's so long of a track to get there and it's tucked behind the engine so you know any any pause you know any gain in ambient temperature Inlet pressure pays huge dividends and turbochargers interesting interesting interesting this thing's pretty famous I thought you were gonna put the video of the car running and it's someone with it tattooed on them dude that's the thigh like that is not a small tattoo yeah so like this car is pretty iconic in the Audi world so it's the first car the only RS3 to go seven so far this car beat Ken Blocks Hoon again or unicorn back in the day um so it's the first car it's kind of the car that that I developed all the parts on from a distance it it doesn't like from here when you can't tell that it's wrapped it kind of just looks like a stock car yeah and these are like filling the doors like the Kevlar doors and you're like oh yeah it's a race car oh my God you don't obviously drive it on these tires right yeah we run them on 15-inch bead locks and you know fire Supply tires so that's so funny oh yeah now I can see yeah it goes fast how much power does this one make uh 1470 is what it's making right now it went Sevens at about 12.50 so it should go a little faster next time we have it out that's cool it's trying to it's starting to eat at Fourth gears We Need A Little Bit Stronger for gear I really really appreciate you taking the time to show me around I'm sorry I was kind of rushed we literally we have our final it's a wrap I don't know that's what it's called our wrap dinner just with the whole production crew that we had for the show we've obviously been out here for a while I appreciate the hospitality again and as cool as all these newer Audis are I have a feeling in the near future I might be calling you about some older five cylinder stuff yeah man it's really it's really too sad we had a very limited time because we should have ripped the Quattro I mean we should have ripped it there's a transport truck taking all my cars to Florida if you want to just throw it on there yeah I can warm it up for you you know you want to fly in take it to Disney World let's go we should just go start it up as the exit all right it's gonna be like the the teaser for next time you come to Vegas for the river well I'll have it ready we'll go play with it or the teaser for my next build maybe there you go I like it all right let's start it up all right here she is when's the last time this thing's been fired up so I I fired it up this morning just to make sure it would but it's been about a year since I've driven it I think the last time I drove it was when we were like hooning it at uh the SEMA thing for Hoon again where they had like that burn yard so like I don't drive in a ton anymore just so freaking busy but next time you're in Vegas we're gonna rip this thing all right all right I'll hold you too all right let's see if we can get it to start at least oh God a cam and hate starting up because it's cold but uh it's fun it makes like I think it's 9 30 wheel horsepower it's like 2 700 pounds so it gets it that's way more than I expected well thank you for the awesome shop tour I appreciate it I gotta get out of here hopefully I'll see you soon really yeah they hit it so hard\n"
