The Fun of Holiday Gift-Giving: A Haul Video Experience

Landon and I had an absolute blast creating this holiday gift-haul video, which is a new experience for us. We love showering our kids with gifts during the holidays, and we're excited to share some of our favorite finds with you. This year, Landon's passion for cars was the inspiration behind many of our purchases, while I couldn't resist indulging in some delicious treats.

As we set out to gather all the essentials for this video, I realized that I don't have time to DIY every single thing during the season. So, I got creative and started browsing through stores like Target, Walmart, and even the grocery store, looking for cute tags and ribbons to add a personal touch to our gifts. I was thrilled to discover some amazing papers, ornaments, and decorations that we could use to make our gifts feel extra special.

One of my favorite finds was a set of DIY ornaments that I created specifically for this video. The Power of Coffee: A Holiday Treat

As I sat down to write this article, I couldn't help but think about coffee – a holiday treat that's become a staple in many households. Michelle, one of the creators behind the amazing chocolate-covered cookie brand, Gail and Augustin, recently introduced me to their Nordic blackberry and almond cake Lord flavors, which have quickly become my new favorite coffees.

There's something special about sipping on a cup of coffee while working on content creation – it adds a touch of warmth and comfort to our otherwise busy days. celebrate the holiday season we're so delighted to have you here at the house of Valentina and let's jump in to today's video hey guys and welcome back to the house Valentina I'm Valentina and my husband Jack is joining us once again mainly because he is my co-conspirator and crime here we did not steal anything however they were very naughty but we're definitely on the naughty list yeah yeah because we went to world market and I got so excited because world market happens to be close to where my parents live and we were celebrating Thanksgiving early with them and so we stopped by world market to look at wrapping paper and you know like three hundred dollars later left the store so I've decided to do an advent calendar for our kids now the thing is is they're getting older and you could just do an advent calendar with chocolate and that would be probably wouldn't be very practical and wise there's not a lot of years left with them here and my thought is if you're gonna do something like this have fun with it so we went mega we just went extra it was like 9 mile long that's not sitting here but we made garland out of it every year I showed different advent calendars and in the truth is is that we have like three of them because we have three kids so it's very difficult to stuff three pieces of chocolate into one little box or trying to make that advent calendar for three and we also have figured out that we tend to give the kids certain gifts over the holidays and that's not included in their Advent so this year we thought we got smart bought all the things that we knew we would normally buy during the holidays and put them in this Advent yeah calendar countdown which i think is cool I don't even know if I mean Evan calendars in the US are still a relatively new thing compared to Europe and in Europe they actually do a lot of times they'll do the little you know little temporary calendars but they'll also do gifts every single day yeah so this is really a little bit more of a European approach to it versus just the American so I think we're kind of blending it so and even the stuff we're gonna show today is so exciting because it is favorites mostly from being overseas yeah so a lot of this you may not dress well it's a crazy because it's all all their favorite things and we saw favorite things and so we just kept piling it in and then there's some things that I was as I was undoing the bag I was like I don't remember this so I think the kids threw some extra stuff in there and maybe well maybe me maybe I threw some exercise I know for sure you did you may see the stuff in storage these are gingerbread assortments and they're different than gingerbread you grew up with they're not thin and crunchy those are gingerbread men or gingerbread whatever these are they're like poofy and airy they're delightful to eat soft toasted waffles billet caramel cinnamon and real bourbon flavor these are great with an afternoon cup of coffee or an afternoon those are for Parker I know but I'm saying alright there's another one and this isn't from Europe but this is just this stuff oh is it yes I was at least I always think they're from Delta Airlines but they're pissed off to go cookie butter and breadsticks Haley hooked out what you saw this yesterday yeah this is actually another one that Parker freaked out over this I don't even know how to say this Nina Reger you guys that are European are gonna make fun of me but this is an assortment marzipan dark chocolate got orange pineapple pistachio and this is actually from lubeck germany which is somewhere that we've actually been to the christmas market there we went there with my parents and this is what we actually ate there so it's really fun when you can find these kinds of things this is what you would actually eat if you were there in Europe so he's over here rustling I don't know what he's found over here oh these are cool so these are German War German yeah yeah we have a ton of like German candies Duplin Lannon they're Parker grew up eating these he's a big hazelnut fan and so these are basically like kind of like Kit Kats with hazel but they look like limbs they're really really cool see you later yes that's my Ferrero actually that is so this is lots of the kinder stuff these are all the things that our kids grow up on while we were overseas so they get really excited about this stuff of course kinder eggs which finally come here to the United States yes we got a couple so that each of the kids can have one on the day if you haven't had these they have a little gift inside of them I guess because they have a warning on them for a long time these are actually illegal and they were coming to us because they think because they didn't have a warning on them so now we realize they have little barkas about try grew up on me do you guys have these kids I never did oh my god wait and chocolate candy no we had a chocolate coin we had chocolate money oh my gosh my grandparents my dad's parents were really poor by the way that was driving kids okay my my grandparents always bought these for us when we were kids and I used to think it's the coolest thing ever Landon is our like he's a meat-eaters a carnivore and so he loves things like this the beef sticks so again these are like some I'm sure they're healthy you can see how this stuff isn't gonna fit inside a little box no I don't have this but plus I think a lot of this is getting approximate numbers because there's no way that we could possibly get all of this into an advent calendar especially since we bought more stuff you're like me you've probably avoided this moisture life and that is licorice Danes love it all across Northern Europe they devoured licorice she's in Germany too yeah maybe so I don't know how to say it but anyway these are amazing and so if you're kind of new and these aren't actually even licorice they're just kind of fun Haley loves these reminds her of her childhood because you grew up over there and so so if you're new if your ski fall you think is licorice as a jellybean go to somewhere like a bar it would eat that not later as an but like they these non-stop Easy Pieces so these are fun yeah and Haley wanted to get some fun coffees this is red velvet and his two human the world market Brian touched her how healthy these are but she picked him out and I saw them moving at home so it's okay I think it's okay to have a little bit of fun these are actually fair trade little bitty miniature chocolates land and geeks out over those because they're shaped like human he really does like cheap chocolate like he just likes like milky chocolate with nothing in it we shouldn't probably not show you all this but we're going to the hanuta hazelnuts Schmidt it's written in German and everything like this is again from it says it's turn for arrow Germany so I'm thinking I would like Ferrero Germany show you some one of my favorites mixed in again it's another German export and that's these these are magical I don't even know what's in them but they're you buy them and just rainbows and glitter and fall out of your mouth they're made in Germany yeah they're so good they're kind of like the little wafer cookies you grew up with but they have magic oh yeah Japanese stuff because our daughter is obsessed with all the Japanese little cookies and little bits little bears these are really cute too aren't they this is one for me it's and I don't know how to say it but it's a it's panettone and Tony it's an Italian you see these everywhere in Europe and you start to see them more and more here you have all different flavors but I think most of the time you see the ones with like the candy Britain food we don't like red yeah it's not this one has chocolate and fig oh so it's like dreamy if you've never had one it's kind of I think I'll describe it it's not super dense boy every three hours so if you've had like that milky like it's a milky bread so I can't eat this but I had it when I was younger before I became a look at and they are so yummy and that is actually a really good gift to give at the holidays as well so you could buy a couple of these and just have them on hand if you want to give gifts to teachers or if you're going to somebody's party something like this is something that they can actually hold on to its not perishable and then they can eat it later these are both gingerbread and you've actually experiment you're gonna do a recipe which one of these rooms yes stay tuned because I have a recipe that you guys are gonna really love and it's gonna be a very quick peppermint mocha yeah then the kids picked out honey butter cashew nuts skinny Jimmy Beauty white chocolate Barry bliss protein bars so we're running off a little bit on our kids when they're picking out things like this Dannic tea for Haley she's gotten where she really loves cheese I got a couple little fun a hacky sack and a little squishy ball for Landon you can see that this is gonna end up Inc stocking stuffers because there's no way all this stuff is gonna be a habit okay this is fun this is every burger I thought they were not healthy they were gummies and I looked at him and the burger is chocolate yes they should make these full size yeah and the cookie it's a cookie on the top I would they should make a burger you know it's fun it just adds a giant when is it Burger King or something do desserts like this I don't know but what I do know is that we had way too much fun in that for the squishy Powell Haley picked out a little I mask and the boys picked out hot sauce I think Maria burgers government they are obsessed with the hot sauce so they do all kinds of little hot sauce challenges and they may be getting smaller these were watch this video original Cajun garlic and wasabi a lot of fun they're gonna have so much about that and then Kable bite is also really fun gift idea what is a cable bite it keeps it so that your you know the cords always break right at the head I don't put it in so this keeps it from doing that that's cool and it's just cute isn't it and they had a whole bunch of them believe in magic I got those for Haley I thought she would like having cute little unicorn tissues in her bag and oh this is a tangled jr. it's that fun twisty thing and it's supposed to be like something to occupy you look at how beautiful this is how cool is this these are only $12.99 of heat and if you wanted to you can light them we won't be lighting ours but it comes with a kit to where you can put a light bulb yeah it's really cool and the best engine is you don't have to sit there with paper and cut this out yourself for hours do you have some DIY that we coming very soon if you want to make some of your own kind of paper art but I definitely don't have time I have you know big a working mom we've got a lot to do so sometimes it's nice to be able I've things like this that are affordable so you can just get it done now let's move to target I mean we're going like once a week like that there's a risk market once a week what the day are you kidding everyone are having spot just like pick up it in cluster these are for Landon yeah I'm assuming they say 9 to 10 I wish they said 48 to 49 you children green sweatpants we trying to kind of like combine things so Michael I know we're gonna go see frozen 2 because I want to and think I can convince the kids to as well singing the music I know if she walked in the bathroom issues like what are you singing nothing manly song so we're gonna take him to see frozen so one of the days are gonna open up a box fill it with snow that's so fun it's gonna have a little Olaf in there into a MC gift cards so we can go see it as a family so I think they're gonna absolutely so we'll just make sure that this is on a Saturday it'll open it up and we'll go see the movie two hours later they found Clif bars that are a peppermint bark and ice gingerbread so that's fun again we're trying to make some better choices this year so we did have fun and the fact that I did you've got another day we're gonna do baking at home I'll do eating at home cuz I'm the recipient we have our gifts I know mine so they're gonna open this which will just be a day of baking baking day yeah we'll probably do this the same day as the sprinkles is they have their own little gingerbread houses now the reason I don't mind this as much as like even though we're trying to be healthier is that they generally don't eat these like they're made to decorate and they have a lot of fun doing them this is a new one called uno flip not sure what it does yet but it looks like you flip the deck oh yeah the document rules are harder or something like that yeah that's gonna be a lot of fun alright so Landon again Landon still loves cars and I still love that so I got him his favorite colors green and my favorite cars that and then you pick up these chocolate oh yeah I'm always looking for something cool and these are not made by a big name they're actually made by Gail and Augustin it's Michelle Michelle they understand they're two french guys and they're made in France their little buttery shortbread cookies where the chocolate filling in them YUM I do not have time to DIY every single thing during the season so don't be afraid to buy some really cute tags and call it a day and I got some really cute ribbons got this black velvet next I decided it was time to go ahead and start wrapping up all these gifts not all of them were really big gifts some things I've put inside of a box to make it feel a little bit better so it feel really epic to the kids and a lot of that other stuff will get packed away but I just really love wrapping the gifts and having a lot of fun and I've been collecting papers from everywhere from Target to Walmart even the grocery store had great options I love decorating them with ornaments and cute tags including great ribbon makes it feel very luxurious and very fun I even created some DIY ornaments that I attached to the gifts and I can't wait to share those DIYs with you are a peppermint bark and ice gingerbread so that's fun again we're trying to make some better choices this year so we did have fun and the fact that I did you've got another day we're gonna do baking at home I'll do eating at home cuz I'm the recipient we have our gifts I know mine so they're gonna open this which will just be a day of baking baking day yeah we'll probably do this the same day as the sprinkles is they have their own little gingerbread houses now the reason I don't mind this as much as like even though we're trying to be healthier is that they generally don't eat these like they're made to decorate and they have a lot of fun doing them this is a new one called uno flip not sure what it does yet but it looks like you flip the deck oh yeah the document rules are harder or something like that yeah that's gonna be a lot of fun alright so Landon again Landon still loves cars and I still love that so I got him his favorite colors green and my favorite cars that and then you pick up these chocolate oh yeah I'm always looking for something cool and these are not made by a big name they're actually made by Gail and Augustin it's Michelle Michelle they understand they're two french guys and they're made in France their little buttery shortbread cookies where the chocolate filling in them YUM I do not have time to DIY every single thing during the season so don't be afraid to buy some really cute tags and call it a day and I got some really cute ribbons got this black velvet next I decided it was time to go ahead and start wrapping up all these gifts not all of them were really big gifts some things I've put inside of a box to make it feel a little bit better so it feel really epic to the kids and a lot of that other stuff will get packed away but I just really love wrapping the gifts and having a lot of fun and I've been collecting papers from everywhere from Target to Walmart even the grocery store had great options I love decorating them with ornaments and cute tags including great ribbon makes it feel very luxurious and very fun I even created some DIY ornaments that I attached to the gifts and I can't wait to share those DIYs with you
