The Swedish Ration Pack: A Comprehensive Review of 24 Hours' Worth of Food and Drink

As I opened the package, I was immediately struck by the density of the bread that was inside. It looked like chestnut cream ooh very dense looking bread did spread a little bit of that on there mMmmm the bread is very very dense and a little bit dry but the nut cream is actually pretty good it's sweet it tastes more like frosting and it has a gentle kind of nutty flavor to it in terms of sweetness it's about a sweetest Nutella but it's actually quite good but the bread itself is not very good it's quite dense but it has a nice weedy flavor to it it's not just like white bread it's got some a little bit of tooth to it and it tastes like whole-wheat bread so actually not too bad for what it is.

This was followed by another Rift brand cereal bar, which sounded suspiciously American. The cookies and cream flavor looked very colorful, with a dark brown color that seemed almost ominous. I took a bite, expecting something familiar, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it tasted like a Rice Krispies treat mixed up with ground Oreo cookies not bad at all and I think this is another snack bar again it's made by the company rift but this one's not labeled as easily as the other one hello it's chocolate terrific so this chocolate looks like it's bloomed a little bit suffered a little bit of heat but I'll eat it anyway mm-hmm hmm it is like dark chocolate but it's quite sweet sweet is a milk chocolate unfortunately bloomed a little bit so the texture is a little bit different a little bit more crumbly but flavor is still pretty good so this should be ready now.

The next item in the package was what I assumed to be a soup, but turned out to be something entirely different. As I examined it closer, I realized that it consisted of slices of potato, carrot, and big pieces of beef - not bad at all it has a nice beefy flavor I can taste the vegetables which are potato and carrot I think and it has an S a little bit of herb in there - I think I can taste a bit of thyme let's go up that so I'm going to add a little bit of this hot taste to it yeah that's better yeah and that definitely liven things up it gives a little bit of heat a little bit of acidity that tastes a little vinegared so yeah I definitely recommend adding hot sauce if you have it.

I also found a packet of hot sauce, which added a welcome kick to the soup. As I continued through the package, I came across another Rift brand item - this one was a chocolate drinking powder. It looked and smelled suspiciously like Swiss Smiths, so I decided to give it a try my remainder of hot water mmm that's great super familiar flavor it tastes like Swiss Smith really chocolaty and sweet and milky and great.

The package also included three little gum packets - two of which were unfamiliar flavors that sounded almost Scandinavian. The Arctic storm salmiakki was the first one I tried, and its strong minty flavor was a bit too much for me but the second one, the blueberry vanilla one whoo and these two are purple mmm not very interesting strong blueberry flavor kind of more berry flavor and then very mentholated hmm that's not bad at all very curious combination that a fruit didn't mint. The final item in the package was a black candy that I assumed would be some sort of licorice, but turned out to be a hard candy instead.

The last piece of candy was actually the worst part - it looked like moose poop and smelled like it too which was kind of funny sure glad I didn't step in it\\n\nIt's clear that Mr. H and Mrs. H put a lot of thought into selecting ingredients for this package, and the end result is a comprehensive yet concise ration pack that balances both sweet and savory items. The drinks selection is also notable, with just two options that are both familiar but still provide some variety.

One thing I would have liked to see was more information about the nutritional content of each item - this could be especially helpful for people who are watching their diet or managing certain health conditions. However, overall I was impressed by the quality of ingredients used in this package and the design of the ration pack as a whole. It's clear that Mr. H and Mrs. H put a lot of thought into creating something special here.

As I finished up the last item in the package, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction - it had been a long day of eating and drinking, but I had enjoyed every single one of these items. H Holloway from Sweden mr. H is actually in the Home Guard and found this ration pack and sent it to me so thank you guys so much these ration packs are difficult to find and international ones are even harder so thank you guys so much for sending it to me I can't wait to tuck into it this is a 24 hour meal it feels super heavy if you missed my other ration pack Eaton's up with the links down below I've done the UK version I've done American one of course a Japanese one and a Kiwi one as well so check those out if you're interested so here's the pack that's what it looks like and it looks like as breakfast lunch and dinner this is Apple Cinnamon porridge Mediterranean pasta with chicken and mashed potatoes with beef and vegetables it all sounds delicious I'm already very impressed with the packaging it's a clear package as opposed to some of the other packages I've had which we're either in cardboard boxes or in kind of brown drab kind of colors which I understand is probably better for camouflage but yet next we kind of see what's in it open it here it has a nice little handle here really smart resealable zip log bag here smart and this everything else Wow and mr. mrs. H also tell me the Swedish love English so all this packaging should be labeled in English so I should be able to read it let's go ahead and make the breakfast pack first it just looks like you rip off the top fill it up some hot water to the line stir it and wait five minutes add three deciliters of warm water deciliter how much is a deciliter so let's open that up oh I love this packaging it's so simple and easy and open it up oh this is so smart look at that so it has lines on the inside right there so it has J H I J and then it says this one to fill it up to G how stinking brilliant is that so we'll open this up stands nicely as well that is ingenious I'm gonna add that to the G Mart give that a stir and then we'll give that a zip up oh this is brilliant it's so smart I love it you don't have to fuss with any containers you don't have to measure because it's right in there while that's cooking let's taste anything else this bag actually has a divider in it it's separated by a piece of plastic in there there's a couple snacks in here there peanuts and we have BBQ and roasted and salted so there the barbecue nuts inside they've got a little coating on them right let's give a taste here we go hmm delicious peanuts not at all rancid nice and crisp and roasted and sweet with a little bit of kind of a smoky barbecue flavor they're almost more sweet than savory but they're delicious next let's try the roasted and salted gigantic peanuts and they don't look like these don't have any skins on them they're huge come to taste hmm these are great nice and salty rich and peanutty delicious and fresh and while the barbecue ones racks a little bit sweet these are just nice and plain and salty all right so let's see how our oatmeal is doing let's open it up oh that looks great really really hot and the portion is huge it's a lucky move mmm and that's great that's an instant oatmeal it tastes nice and appley and what I really like is there's a touch of cinnamon and it's not overly sweet just a touch of sweetness this ration pack actually doesn't include any additional sugar so you can't actually make it any sweeter but I think that's great it really doesn't need it let's make the next entree this is the Mediterranean pasta with chicken and this one we fill up to the G as well and as you can see there's some pot vendor take it down so we could see the GUI open this up so it says and allow that to cook this one takes a little longer to cook because of the pasta it since 10 minutes so another thing that's included in this is orange flavored cake and it says 85 grams ah and there is a sweet little Cape inside it the dock emails mmm it tastes just like a pound cake it's rich and moist and it has a nice orange flavor to it I love that perfect I think with a cup of tea or coffee speaking of which I should fix myself a cup of coffee so ration pack also includes a couple packets of Columbian freeze-dried instant coffee and lift set up all right come by mmm it's instant coffee nothing special but it's actually not too bad actually not too bitter tastes like truck stop coffee and I like my coffee strong so I just put a little bit of water in there and yeah that'll do the job for me I usually drink my coffee black and this ration pack actually did not include any non-dairy creamer or whitener as you guys and UK call it or any sugar so yeah let me know the comments below how you have your coffee with this with you this suits me just fine mrs. H said this stuff is gold out in the bush and this is beef jerky high-protein original bites and I love beef jerky some of my favorite snacks and they're just a few pieces in there and let's give that a taste mmm quite salty but most jerky is a little bit on the dry side but again it's dried meat so what do you expect but it's a very well seasoned jerky I taste a lot of herbs and flavors in there and a little bit of tomato as well there are two beverages that are included and one of them is this exotic flavored isotonic beverage which is like a sports drink and exotic as I found that in my UK ration pack is a kind of tropical punch flavor we don't really have that flavor here in the US or it's not called exotic at least mmm smells great smells like fruit punch all right put some of that in there I like my drinks too concentrated so I'll just draw off a little bit I like the color it doesn't look too artificial come by mmm it's good it's actually quite similar to the British isotonic beverage it has that same kind of guava tropical punch flavor to it has a little bit of viscosity and not overly sweet which if it was you could adjust it by adding more water it has a little bit of saltiness like you would find in a Gatorade drink let's see how our lunch is doing open it up Wow and it has expanded quite a bit this is great pasta they're like little corkscrews there are lots of vegetables and they're lots of dehydrated carrot and that's pretty good for a dehydrated meal I'm really impressed the pastas well cooked has a little bit of a chew to it not overly soggy as some of the precooked meals are and the carrots have a little bit of a chew to them and it has really nice bright tomato flavor and has a little touch of sweetness as well playing a little chicken pieces in there let's give a tape mmm the chicken pieces are a little bit odd a little bit spongy kind of like the chicken pieces that you would find in a couple noodle soup or something like that the texture is a little bit strange but it tastes a little bit chicken eat so that's the last meal and this one too we fill to eight for deciliters so a little bit more water and this one we allowed to sit for 10 minutes I should also mention that the ration pack includes a bit and this is Louisiana Hot Sauce this seems very similar to the Tabasco style hot sauce that is included in the MREs the British ration pack and the American ration pack both include matches this one does not the other ones also include some kind of wet-nap and this one does as well includes three little disinfecting swabs this also includes some Bridgeford white whole-wheat this actually I think might be the same company as the u.s. brand and to go with that it includes some nut cream and this looks like it might be a chestnut cream ooh very dense looking bread did spread a little bit of that on there mMmmm the bread is very very dense and a little bit dry but the nut cream is actually pretty good it's sweet it tastes more like frosting and it has a gentle kind of nutty flavor to it in terms of sweetness it's about a sweetest Nutella but it's actually quite good but the bread itself is not very good it's quite dense but it has a nice weedy flavor to it it's not just like white bread it's got some a little bit of tooth to it and it tastes like whole-wheat bread so actually not too bad for what it is this is another rift brand and this is a cereal bar and it's cookies and cream flavor sounds very American oh my gosh look at that look at that color it's so dark its lucky laws mm-hmm it tastes like a rice krispies treat mixed up with ground Oreo cookies not bad at all and I think this is another snack bar again it's made by the company rift but this one's not labeled as easily as the other one hello it's chocolate terrific so this chocolate looks like it's bloomed a little bit suffered a little bit of heat but I'll eat it anyway mm-hmm hmm it is like dark chocolate but it's quite sweet sweet is a milk chocolate unfortunately bloomed a little bit so the texture is a little bit different a little bit more crumbly but flavor is still pretty good so this should be ready now this looks like a soup is do I think this is a potato and slices of carrot in there and nice big pieces of beef as well but that's not bad it has a nice beefy flavor I can taste the vegetables which are potato and carrot I think and it has an S a little bit of herb in there -
