MY GCSE RESULTS 2017! [I GOT STRAIGHT A_s!]

My A-Level Results: A Personal Perspective

I'm excited to share my A-Level results with you and how I feel about them. In additional science, my coursework saved me big time in the exams. I actually got an A in biology and a B in chemistry and physics. Although I got an 80% equivalent mark for biology, which was just below the threshold for an A grade, I'm still very happy with my results. This experience taught me that coursework is crucial in achieving good grades, especially in subjects like science where it's a significant part of the assessment.

I also had great options lessons, and I chose four subjects: music, media, business, and computer science. While some people may view choosing these subjects as "beat X" or less challenging, I really enjoyed them and think they're essential for my future career prospects. My business studies and music lessons were particularly fulfilling, and I'm glad I took the time to explore these interests. In both of these subjects, I received a distinction start in the exam units, which was a thrilling experience for me.

In computer science, I also did extremely well, earning a distinction in all the units. This subject is closely related to my YouTube channel, and I'm passionate about it. I love learning about programming languages, algorithms, and data structures. While I was initially disappointed with my result, which was an A- rather than an A*, I'm still very happy with how things turned out. My computer science grade will certainly help me secure a good university place.

My media and business studies were also great, although in different ways. The media double award coursework got moderated down by the head examiner of AQA, which added pressure to my exam performance. However, I'm still thrilled to have achieved an A* in this subject. My media grade was outstanding, with a 100% mark in both exam units. This result is a testament to my hard work and dedication to learning.

Overall, I'm delighted with my A-Level results. While some subjects may be more challenging than others, I believe that choosing the right options for me has helped me achieve good grades. My coursework experience taught me the importance of preparation, while my options lessons allowed me to explore my interests and passions. I'm excited to see where these results take me next.

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the people who make fantastic revision content that saved my day. The Revision Box, Primrose Care, and Eve Bennet are just a few examples of the many resources that helped me prepare for my exams. Their products and tutorials were invaluable in helping me achieve my goals. I'm grateful to have had access to these tools, and I hope they continue to help other students succeed.

As I move forward, I'll be taking media and image A-Level as well as computer science at university. While my computer science grade may not have been an A*, I'm still confident that it will serve me well in the future. My passion for learning and my enthusiasm for these subjects will undoubtedly help me excel in whatever path I choose.

In conclusion, I'm thrilled with my A-Level results and the journey they've taken me on. While some aspects of my experience may have been challenging, I believe that these challenges helped me grow as a learner and prepare me for success. I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their passions and work hard towards achieving their goals.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome back to another geek video today I'm going to be reacting to my 2017 GCSE results and I was a bit different from the usual technology content on the channel but don't worry that will be back I was obsessed with watching GCSE results videos and today I thought I'd make my own since I literally picked up my results like an hour and a half go now super quick bit of context GCSEs are the final exams that everyone has to sit in the UK they compulsory the mandatory and they are very very important they used to judge your ability when you go for jobs even with university applications sitting alongside further education a levels and they're just very very important in general so there's a lot of nerves around there's a lot of anticipation and excitement and I'm going to go through what circuits are picked and what I've got in those subjects and how I believe I'll credit those great what I did in order to achieve those grades now super quick shout out goes to three people before we start Eve Bennett Mr brough under Primrose kitten who make science English and general revision videos that were so helpful in the run-up to sit in these exams whether it be for motivation purposes or learning the content and the context super super helpful and accredit a lot of the success here to them but let's go down the page and start off with maths English and science starting off with maths I actually got a 7 math and English for the first subjects to actually be reformed and to be graded 1 to 9 with 19 the highest as opposed to a star to F for G or you or whatever the exams are harder they're closed books you have to remember all the quotes and all that sort of stuff and to get a 7 in maths I was so happy I was aiming for a 40 in each paper 40 out of 18 in each paper at which we believe would be around the seventh mark and the great bound is actually revealed that it was 41 41 and 42 marks across the three papers respectively in order to get a 7 considering in every single paper I couldn't even attend the last five questions this really was a bit of a miracle to be honest I couldn't believe it when I opened my paper more as all slip sorry and just so so happy with this I think that's a massive credit to my maths teacher absolutely fantastic I think best teacher you could and I have ever had now it turns out English it's the similar story English language and literature I've got seven in those as well I'm not 100% sure how I did it in language I think the creative writing part of the persuasive right in writing the letters all that sort of stuff definitely pulled me through in terms of English literature accredit much of my success so the wads of revision books that I did I drilled all of the context that possibly could into my brain I remembered as many quotes as possible got into the exam without even looking at the questions splurged all the quotes that were in my head on the paper wrote them down and was able to reference those later a good tip for any year tends going into year 11 but to sit the exams record yourself saying the quotes for the different books characters plays etc etc have those in the ear and earphone on loop over and over again on the walk to school before the exam you're not going to mind a headache but it really helps and I think that impresses the examiner if you know a lot of quotes I could be wrong but that's just what I did and it seemed to work quite well for me next up is science now you could have chose triple science which basically splits chemistry biology and physics up into several subjects or I went for the more easier route which is called additional science which is 3 less exams and one less GCSE I tend to struggle with science I always have done of course that is relative to my ability if you will because I ended up getting an A in both core and additional science in core science I got an A and actually sat that last year said it early so that only had to worry about additional science this year and I credit my a to the fact that I had so much time there was no other subjects to worry about the right questions came up I did so so much revision for that and I was really really happy with that and that was it that was even more impressive for me because my coursework out she got moderated down last year to a B so I managed to pull that up through the exams this year was the other way around in additional science my coursework saved me big time in the exams I actually got an A in biology and a B in chemistry and physics although that a in biology I got 80 80 marks equivalent was actually the great boundary he needed eighty to get an A so how do I got one less I would have got three B's I don't quite know how much of a difference that made but the course work being full marks and a start really did help me next up of course is my options lessons I chose four options music media business and computer science business and music were both beat X there is a stigma around people picking beat X but I really enjoyed the subjects I think I'm quite business minded your business and I love music and I just I think you have to have some good relieving fun subjects any timetable as well as the more hard-hitting ones like computer science for me actually got a distinction start in both of those which I was over the moon with I actually got a distinction as well in the exam units for those but once again the coursework does how you massively in those subjects I have seen the coursework sheet I have seen teachers push the boundary shall we say on the coursework grades and I can understand why B techs have a bit of a stigma around them but if their subjects you enjoyed and if you get a good grade you do deserve it you've worked hard for that grade in my opinion I got I basically got a distinction in all the units and they've got distinct from the exam which gave me a distinction start overall and was really happy with how those two turned out the final two on this list are media for which I did a double award which is two GCSEs and computer science media is my second favorite subjects only behind computer science I love it it's video video editing would that be audio editing making things for print posters leaflets all that sort of stuff graphic design and that's really what I thrive off and enjoy hence this whole YouTube thing now in media I actually got a star a star with it being two GCSEs and I was so over the moon with that especially since the fact that my double award media coursework got moderated down by the head examiner of AQA media from an a star to a high a so that meant I had to do well in the media double award exam which I didn't get much preparation for so I think that's a little bit of look if I'm being completely honest although is a subject to enjoy and that just massively help out now the final one for me here is computer science this was on that honestly I was a bit disappointed in I still got an A so I know some people are gonna be going well I just why the how he disappointed in an a4 but actually because I got an eighth there on the exam and both my coursework units were a star but they must have got moderated down or the grade boundaries must have severely changed one or the other a mix of the two I'm not 100% sure that being said I've got the grade I need to do computer science at a-level and I'm also going to be doing media and moving image a level as well so from that perspective I'm pretty happy for do choose to go to university it'll probably be to do media anyway and if I do computer science in a very respectable grade I'm still very happy with it I was a bit disappointed when I opened it because all the grades were better than I expected but I can't really moment I can't complain and I'd rather get an A in that and do really well in everything else and get an a star in that and not do so great but yeah that wraps it up I do hope you enjoyed this video I loved making these I loved watching these Sutton making them and I just thought it was my time to sort of make my own I think it's all relative I think people have to remember that my results were I think really really good I know some people would kill for results like this and some people will go why disappointed in an A in computer science for but I think it is all relative obviously in the mock exams for the subjects I got an a star in every single mark because it's just a subject that I love so much when I'm doing four or five six hours of it making youtube videos for it it's a subject so I'm going to be very very involved in and really really enjoy but I'm not complaining because I'm really really happy with these results once again a massive thank you to the
