OnePlus X Hands On at Launch - iGyaan 4k

Oneplus X Launch Event

The launch event of Oneplus X was recently held in New Delhi, marking the company's cheapest offering yet. The new device comes in two variants: Onyx and Ceramic. The Onyx variant features a glass back, while the Ceramic variant boasts a ceramic back with sharper edges.

The Oneplus X is priced at $699 for the Onyx variant, making it the company's most affordable offering to date. In contrast, the limited edition Ceramic variant will be available for $2309, a significant premium over the base model.

One of the standout features of the Oneplus X is its display. The device boasts a 5-inch full HD AMOLED screen, accompanied by Gorilla Glass 3 for added durability. This is complemented by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3 gigahertz on all quad cores. Additionally, the device comes equipped with three gigabytes of RAM and a new 13-megapixel F/2.2 ISO cell camera at the back.

The Oneplus X also introduces dual-sim capabilities for the first time in the company's lineup. Furthermore, it features micro SD card capability, allowing users to utilize two SIM cards or one SIM card plus a microSD card. The device runs on Oxygen OS-based Android 5.1.1 and is expected to receive the Marshmallow update later this year.

In terms of aesthetics, the Oneplus X appears significantly more premium than its predecessors, such as the OnePlus 2. The front of the device houses the display alongside capacitive touch buttons at the bottom of the screen. To the left, there's a notification switch that enables users to toggle between priority completely muted notifications or all notifications.

The new device boasts an all-metal frame and a glass front and back, resulting in a premium look and feel. The Onyx variant will be available for sale starting November 5th, while the limited edition Ceramic variant will go on sale at the end of November with only 10,000 units globally available.

As usual, the Oneplus X will come with an invite-only system similar to its predecessors. However, in India, Amazon.com will hold open sales for the device, providing users with a chance to purchase it outside of this exclusive program.
